All my life I have been passionate about language and education.

And because I was born and grow up in a very rural area of Vietnam,

I didn't have much time to learn English.

So I really want to make a change,

a difference into the community where I was growing up about the learning of English.

Now I want to make a difference to my students to make a better community.

I was always looking for opportunities to help make my teaching meaningful to the students.

And so this scholarship offers us the chance to study English education not just from the standpoint of a language educator,

but also from a leader helping them to find meaning,

helping them to use language to do whatever it is that they would like to do in the future.

During my two weeks time here,

I think I will spend many of my time to learn from the professor, the distinguished professor.

Northern Island culture is also another exciting aspect of this trip

because I will bring a lot of interesting facts about the culture,

about the people, about the education here,

to share with not only my students but also my colleagues in my hometown.

And the reason why I applied at the first place was

because I just really love the language and I want to not only help myself but also with others, master it.

So doing a degree in Tissot,

I think it would kind of reignite my passion for teaching

so that when I go back home and I teach my students,

they can kind of feel the same passion, the same energy.

I came here with a fresh smile and fresh heart to learn everything around me.

As a teacher, you need to be a learner again to really understand the learner.

So now I can come back home with a real story,

with a real experience that will be turned into interesting stories that I can share with my students.

So they will believe that no matter where they come,

no matter what their background they can really step out of their comfort zone

and discover the world with their own eyes to really understand what is the culture,

what is the people and what is the language.

Well, besides the memories and the experience,

the network would be the most precious thing that I would love to take on.

so far I have joined lessons in leadership,

in education, in teaching English by drama,

using drama, right, and I have contacted with some amazing lecturers.

I have learned so far a lot of tips

and activities to warm up the class and to make the students interact to each other in a very very positive way.

I had a very inspirational lesson with Claire because before

that I didn't think that I can apply grammar in teaching medical students,

but now I think that it's possible.

So I'm surely will use some of the activities suggested by

Claire in my next semester with my medical students to help them become good future doctors.

I think this one is a very new experience for me

because I will meet a lot of students from multicultural backgrounds

and I will teach them the level I will teach is beginners.

And this one is very new to me and I want to change to break my comfort zone to try new things.

A lot of English is a miracle language.

It can connect people.

And now I'm an English teacher.

Now I'm a scholar of the Ulster Master's course.

So that's the reason why I always say to my students, keep dreaming.

Even though it's not something related to English,

it's about another science or technology or another subject.

But keep training.

I feel that Ulster has reassured me that I would be assisted.

I would get what I need if I were struggling.

And I feel like that's one of the things that most international students are very concerned with.

I think lifelong journey can start by a single step.

You just dream big, but you can do small things.

At least those small things can lead you in the right direction.
