5
and even make our own lotus tea from scratch.

8
about Vietnam, don't forget to check out my Ultimate Vietnam Guidebook in the description box below.
9
And now, let's start with one of the most iconic Vietnamese coffee.
10
Cafe Trứng the Egg Coffee.
11
Bye.
12
Vietnamese egg coffee was invented by Nguyễn Văn Giang in Hanoi
13
in 1946 during a milk shortage using whipped egg yolk instead of milk.
14
That sounds strange, right?
15
But trust me, it's very good.
16
First, you put about 25g of Robusta coffee in the Fint filter.
17
Give it a little shake to balance the coffee.
18
then brew it for a couple of minutes.
19
You can use this fin if you want to have a coffee party for 10 people.
20
But if you're feeling introverted, you can use the regular fin like this one.
21
While waiting, whisk the egg yolk with condensed milk for 3 -5 minutes until thick and fluffy.
22
Squeeze some lime to add depth.
23
Once it's done, scoop the egg cream into an empty warm cup, then pour the coffee into the middle.
24
Finish it off by caramelizing the top with a kitchen torch. And voila!
25
Let's give it a taste.
26
Have you ever had a coffee before?
27
No. No?
28
Yeah?
29
This is my first time.
30
Did you like it?
31
Yeah.
32
It's like dessert, like chiamisu.
33
Right?
34
The second type of coffee is the salt coffee.
35
Same concept.
36
Mix whipping cream, condensed milk, and a small pinch of salt until smooth and slightly foamy.
37
Pour the coffee into a cup, then top with the salted cream and cocoa powder.
38
Stir slightly or drink in layers.
39
Fun fact: Caffe Muay was created in Huế and became famous for balancing the bitterness of the coffee with a creamy, slightly salty flavor.
40
Last but not least, one of my favorite coffees is the coconut coffee.
41
Super easy to make, you just need to blend coconut milk, condense milk, pour the blended coconut mixture into the glass and add the coffee on top and serve cold.
42
It is so yummy.
43
And this is my hand after drinking three cups of coffee this morning.
44
By the way, I'm creating the Vietnamese Coffee Series starting this month to help you learn more about Vietnamese coffee.
45
as well as helping you discover the best coffee spots in Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi and other parts of Vietnam.

62
Now, Let's move on to the next activity.
63
When coming to Vietnam, you definitely need to take photos in traditional Vietnamese clothing.
64
The beautiful dress I'm wearing is called ao dai and there are styles for both men and women.
65
I took my photos at Gão Nô Studio not only because they have the cutest cat, but they also prepare foot massages, face masks for glowing skin,
66
snacks and tea to make the whole the outfit and the accessories,
67
does your makeup to match the look and styles your hair as well.
68
VIP experience.
69
This is my final look.
70
What do you think?
71
So I just got my hair and my makeup done.
72
We're moving to the destination to take some outside picture and I'm with the team right now.
73
This is...
74
Minh Thư.
75
This is...
76
This is...
77
Tiaf. And then...
78
Cathy.
79
Katie or Kathy?
80
Katie. And no driver.
81
Just spoke Vietnamese.
82
Okay.
83
Are you guys ready?
84
Ready?
85
Ready!
86
Come on louder!
87
Are you guys ready?
88
Ready!
89
Did you guys eat breakfast yet?
90
No!
91
Okay!
92
The whole session takes about half of the day and the team was incredibly professional.
93
Always making sure I was comfortable with makeup touch -ups, water and everything I need for the best experience.
94
And if you don't know how to pose, don't worry.
95
They even guide you on where to look and how to pose beautifully in the outside.
96
I'm so happy with the results.
97
I'll leave all the links to the activities I joined in the description box below so you can check them out too.
98
Okay, let's go to location number 2.
99
Bye.
100
Move forward.
101
Yeah, very good.
102
One, two, three, go.
103
Okay, so we just finished our shooting today.
104
Thank you so much guys for helping me.
105
Bye!
106
Inside this leaf, There's a lotus flower.
107
Inside this lotus flower, there's tea.
108
And I'm drinking some lotus tea right now.
109
And let's go back 24 hours ago to learn how to make lotus tea.
110
I came to a lotus tea workshop hidden above the pho
111
restaurant in Vietnam to learn how one of the country's most unique and luxurious teas is made.
112
And what surprised me is that making lotus tea isn't just about brewing tea, it's an art that requires a lot of patience and skills.
113
Before today, I thought lotus tea was simply tea with lotus flavoring.
114
Turns out I was completely wrong.
115
The workshop begins with something that looks simple: a lotus flower.
116
But here is the fun fact: the lotus is Vietnam's national flower and is deeply connected to Vietnamese culture.
117
Even though it grows in muddy water, it blooms beautifully above the surface.
118
That's why many Vietnamese people see it as a symbol of resilience, purity and rising above challenges.
119
Another crazy fact is that the authentic lotus tea is extremely time -consuming to make.
120
Some traditional teas are scented by placing green tea inside fresh lotus flowers overnight, so the tea can absorb the natural fragrance.
121
And for the premium lotus tea, workers have to collect tiny lotus stemnens by hand.
122
Sometimes, thousands of flowers are needed for just one kilogram of tea.
123
That's one reason authentic lotus tea can be surprisingly expensive.
124
Now is my turn.
125
I'm giving fresh lotus flowers and tea leaves and honestly, I thought it would be easy.
126
It wasn't.
127
The process requires carefully opening the flower without damaging the delicate petals.
128
Every movement feels like I'm performing flower surgery.
129
As I start working, I realize why Lotus Tea has been considered a luxury for centuries is incredibly labor -intensive.
130
There are no shortcuts if you want the natural aroma.
131
And while I'm struggling not to destroy my flower, the instructor makes it look so effortless.
132
So I decided to tell her the story of why the tea cup doesn't have a handle to sound smarter
133
so I can make it up for my skills.
134
Tea is from China, so like they designed a cup that didn't have the handle.
135
is because they know that if the tea is hot and you can't like pick it up, that means it's hot.
136
So don't drink it yet.
137
You might burn your tongue.
138
Yes.
139
But then if you hold it and then, oh, it's warm enough.
140
hot enough and then your fingers can handle it, it means like your tea is the perfect temperature to drink.
141
The ideology is like trust your gut, trust your feeling.
142
Yeah.
143
yeah don't depend on the tool or technology trust your feelings After preparing the lotus flower,
144
we begin the scenting process.
145
The room is filled with a subtle floral fragrance.
146
not overpowering like perfume, but soft and elegant.
147
What's interesting is that Lotus Tea doesn't actually taste strongly like flowers.
148
Instead, it has a delicate aroma that makes the tea feel smoother and more refined.
149
At this point, I finally understand why people are willing to pay so much for it.
150
But my favorite part of the workshop is in making the tea.
151
It's hearing the stories behind it.
152
Lotus tea has been enjoyed in Vietnam for generations, especially in Hanoi, where some families have passed down the craft for decades.
153
What started as drink eventually became part of Vietnamese cultural heritage.
154
And that's something I love about experiences like this You're not just learning a skill, you're learning the history.
155
the traditions and the stories that make a place unique.
156
Now comes to the moment of truth.
157
We brew the tea.
158
After all that work, I'm honestly nervous.
159
What if it tastes exactly like regular tea?
160
Luckily, it doesn't.
161
The aroma is incredibly delicate, almost calming.
162
It's the kind of tea that makes you slow down and actually pay attention to what you're drinking.
163
And knowing how much effort went into every cup somehow makes it taste even better.
164
So if you're visiting Vietnam and looking for something beyond food tours and sightseeing, I highly recommend trying a Lotus Tea Workshop.
165
Not only will you learn about fascinating tradition, but you'll also gain a whole new appreciation for what's inside the simple cup of tea.
166
And next time you see Lotus Tea on the menu, you'll know there's an incredible amount of craftsmanship behind every sip.
167
This is only part one for the unique things to do in Ho Chi Minh City.
168
Make sure you subscribe for part 2.
169
Thank you for watching and I'll see you guys in the next videos.
170
Bye.
