Think about that for a moment in your life.

In our struggles, in our worries,

in our failures, in the burdens that we carry silently,

Jesus is praying for us.

Sometimes we feel alone.

Sometimes we wonder if God sees what we are carrying in our life.

But this gospel today reminds us that we are never forgotten.

Christ carries us in His Sacred Heart.

And notice something else.

Jesus says, I glorify you on earth by accomplishing the work you gave me to do.

Jesus fulfilled His mission with that love,

that obedience, and trust in the Father.

That becomes the question for us today to reflect.

What is the work God has given me to do in my own life?

Maybe your mission is to be a faithful parent.

Maybe it's to be someone who forgives someone else.

Maybe it's to care for the sick.

Maybe it is simply to remain faithful in prayer when life at times can be challenging and difficult.

It is about faithfully doing God's will in ordinary daily life through our actions and choices.

As we prepare for Pentecost next week,

the Church invites us to stay close to Jesus in prayer,
