1
You know, sometimes as humans,
2
it's a challenge to live the life that God wants us to live.
3
It's not easy.
4
He doesn't expect us to do it by ourselves.
5
I want to talk about that in your morning cup of inspiration.
6
He did not expect us in our flesh to be able to overcome the enemy and live the life that pleases him.
7
And that's why he sent his Holy Spirit.
8
If you'll remember when Jesus came back,
9
was raised from the dead,
10
saw his disciples for the first time,
11
it was in John the 20th chapter.
12
Listen to what it says he did.
13
After he talked to them,
14
he breathed on them and said, receive the Holy Spirit.
15
He knew the Holy Spirit was the key.
16
That was God being present with them.
17
The Holy Spirit was God within them,
18
so they sensed his presence.
19
And it's interesting to me that back in Genesis,
20
the second chapter, the second chapter,
21
seventh verse, he used the word breathed life into the first man.
22
The same verb that was used on breathing life into man is the same verb that's used here in John,
23
breathing to receive the Holy Spirit.
24
It is basically breathing life, spiritual life into man.
25
So when you accept Christ,
26
you receive that spiritual life.
27
He is breathing the Holy Spirit into you.
28
He is breathing God's presence into you.
29
But what's interesting is that he goes on to say,
30
hey, wait here for the Holy Spirit.
31
Wait here for the gift.
32
There was more.
33
If you'll remember in Acts the second chapter,
34
when they were in the upper room,
35
the Holy Spirit fell upon them in an incredible power, an incredible heaviness.
36
And when they got up from that room,
37
their power, their courage, their tenacity had just multiplied and that's what I pray for you today.
38
There is power in the Holy Spirit.
39
If you're struggling each day,
40
if you're not feeling that you're walking in victory,
41
if you're feeling like you're falling in temptation and not living the life and being obedient,
42
being courageous to share your testimony,
43
go to the Lord, ask him for more of his Holy Spirit.
44
He wants to breathe that spirit
45
into your heart and life today
46
and give you the courage and the power to live the life he wants you to live.
47
I pray you accept that challenge.
48
God bless.
49
Thanks for joining me for that morning cup of inspiration.
50
And we'll see you next time.
