1
Good morning, it's Chica.
2
Today is a special edition of Happy Monday.
3
I'm going to be sharing with you my morning.
4
So this is where I try to sleep most nights.
5
Sometimes they fall asleep with the kids downstairs, other times they'll come crawling into bed with me.
6
But it's really nice to have your own bed.
7
You definitely need quality sleep to get up early.
8
One of the first things that I do
9
when I wake up is put on my smartwatch so I can start counting my steps.
10
Here we go!
11
I go downstairs, glance at the laundry on the sofa and pretend I don't see them.
12
The next thing I do is put in my contacts because I am nearly blind without them.
13
Good morning, it's Chica.
14
Happy Monday.
15
Brought to you from my kitchen this morning with a fresh cup of coffee.
16
Cheers!
17
This Monday morning, I thought I would change things up
18
and share with you a little bit of my morning routine
19
yes all decked out my back shoe boys shirt yes this makes me happy in the morning
20
and this makes me very happy in the morning
21
so as you guys may know i love my mornings
22
i became a morning person a couple years ago
23
i used to be a complete night owl i've got a few videos on
24
that i woke up at five this morning ideally i get up at four i just love waking up
25
and it being dark it's like silence and the kids aren't awake
26
and it's just my time
27
so you guys probably just saw me brew some coffee in this big coffee machine
28
it just goes from the beans all the way to the coffee
29
so it's really nice and some of the things
30
that i want to share with you about my coffee routine is we actually just started using a reusable filter
31
it has coffee in it right now
32
but it's like reusable reusable filter we used paper filters up until recently
33
but osara -san
34
and i between the two of us drink quite a bit of coffee every day throughout the day
35
because we work from home mostly
36
and osara -san was like it was kind of a waste
37
and so he found this i'm like oh that's actually awesome i mean you gotta like wash it every time
38
but that's okay some of you may be like wait you're drinking coffee
39
because for those of you who've known me for a long time I'm a complete tea person.
40
The last morning routine I shared with you, I was probably making tea, I think, and I put like lemon in there or something.
41
I have not only become a morning person, I've become a coffee person.
42
Oh my gosh, it's just amazing how people change.
43
I never ever thought I would drink black coffee.
44
And now I can't live without my coffee.
45
That's what happens to coffee people, right?
46
Yes, adulting at 42.
47
Oh wait, I'm still 41.
48
I keep telling everyone I'm 42 and Pudding will be like, mom, you're 41.
49
I'm like, oh yes, every year counts at this age or does not count.
50
It doesn't really matter.
51
Yes, adulting at 41.
52
The reason why I have become a coffee person is truly because of this.
53
Meow.
54
So I actually have my own coffee.
55
Becoming a morning person and journaling in the mornings, it was kind of my like one of my goals,
56
like hashtag goals to be a coffee person
57
and to be able to drink coffee
58
and I wanted something really really gentle in the morning to kind of wake me up and I could drink while journaling.
59
I talked to a friend of mine who's a world champion barista.
60
You guys may know him.
61
We met him in Melbourne.
62
Shin -san.
63
He's back in Osaka and he has an amazing coffee shop there
64
and I told him all the things I wanted and he made me the perfect blend.
65
It is a light roast and the beans are from Ethiopia and Kenya.
66
This is a lot more acidic than bitter.
67
And so it's got this kind of fruity, not berry fruity, it's kind of like a citrusy fruity flavor.
68
And the aroma is just beautiful and it tastes so good.
69
I had a comment the other day on Happy Monday and someone was like, I just want to see you be really lazy.
70
I was like, I want to see you die.
71
I was like, I'm going to see you in the chat.
72
I was like, I'm going to see you in the chat.
73
It just kind of made me laugh.
74
Because it probably looks like I'm really trying really hard and be this morning person and I'm like such a hard worker.
75
No, I'm like probably one of the laziest people in a sense because I only do the things I want to.
76
Everything else, I procrastinate.
77
I'm lazy.
78
I don't want to do it.
79
And I think the laziest I am during the week is during my training session.
80
i'm like oh i'm sleepy today i don't want to do this
81
and i feel so bad
82
but i'm like i just told him like please just let me vent
83
because i think venting allows me to keep going
84
so i'm not like yes i'm ready to work out let's do it no i am not like
85
that i'm like okay hello i made it i'm so tired today
86
and i'm like complaining throughout the whole training so i'm
87
so sorry to my trainer mori -san yeah
88
so for those of you who think i'm just like you know always on the go
89
and always cheerful and energetic i'm not and i have talked way too much
90
and now my coffee is a little cold
91
but that's all right i really enjoy this morning moment with you guys 30 minutes
92
so I've got 30 minutes to get my routine in.
93
So let's go!
94
After a minute to myself with some delicious coffee, I am ready to start journaling.
95
I use journaling in the morning to sort out my thoughts and get ready for the day, set my intentions and consciousness for the day.
96
But I also use it to brainstorm new ideas and spark inspiration.
97
And oftentimes I do that with a book.
98
I've been reading a book called Effortless, which is just about making things a little more simple and easier and not overcomplicating life,
99
which I sometimes tend to do.
100
I find things that leave an impression and I dig deeper into what
101
that means for me and how I could apply it into my own life. Of course, I use
102
Chapter's daily journal and pen to do my journaling, but we also have this pen case that never made it to product.
103
It's black on the outside but silver on the inside and we even have chapter engraved in the zipper.
104
Maybe someday.
105
Now that I'm done journaling, I will pull out my phone and do what I need to do.
106
One of the first things that I've been doing in the morning is this.
107
My recent morning routine has been to open the Bilingual Academy classroom.
108
We have a page called community.
109
There's a question every morning.
110
Today it's do you like cooking? and we actually have everyone answering
111
and it's still early so there aren't very many answers yet
112
but throughout the day people write and look some people write
113
so much and other people write a little
114
so you don't have to worry it's whatever you can
115
and I also answer these questions do I like cooking I actually don't really like cooking I don't hate it
116
but I don't love it it's so fun to read all of your answers
117
and to just know that you guys are opening up the classroom every day and working on your English is just amazing.
118
Please keep up the hard work and I hope that
119
Bilingual Academy continues to be a fun tool for you.
120
So I didn't check the temperature.
121
Oh, it's a crisp morning.
122
Oh, I should have done some reading outside.
123
It's actually really nice today.
124
All right, it is time to wake up the kids.
125
I should have taken a moment here.
126
The leaves are turning.
127
Alright, time to wake up the kids.
128
It's gonna get hectic.
129
Ah!
130
Ah!
131
It's the time of Pythagoras!
132
Good morning!
133
So our kids have been waking up to the TV show, Pitagora Switch.
134
And it's the perfect morning TV program because it's slower paced but still intriguing and quite educational.
135
Now it's time to wake up Clover.
136
Who doesn't wake up as easily.
137
Pitagora Switch.
138
You want a piggyback ride?
139
piggyback ride this is actually the only show they watch in japanese everything they watch is in english i figure
140
that since we currently live in japan they'll pick up the japanese language naturally
141
but with english we need to be a little bit more intentional in how much they're absorbing
142
and at this time i will finally get to that pile of laundry that was waiting for me on the sofa
143
If I have a minute, I'll sit with them and watch for a bit.
144
At first, I was a little reluctant to have them watch first thing in the morning.
145
But sitting there watching it with them, it was pretty educational and it really made our mornings a lot smoother.
146
And around this time, I started getting a little sleepy and wish I could go back to bed.
147
But it's time to make the kids some breakfast.
148
Okay, I gotta get hurrying then.
149
So for breakfast, I am going to make Clover some French toast.
150
On days where he has a later start to go to English school, he will make French toast himself with a lot of crazy food coloring.
151
But today is his early morning, so here I go.
152
I love French toast because it's one of those dishes that's super easy to make but feels a little fancy and special.
153
I'm so tired.
154
The days are hard.
155
I have more than you want.
156
It's because of the switch on the KITAKORA switch.
157
Yeah.
158
And it's actually quite educational too.
159
right? that's why i let you guys watch it in the morning.
160
i was drinking coffee and i looked at the clock and i'm looking at the second hand and it just stopped.
161
i'm like what?
162
it just stopped just went to the top.
163
it stopped.
164
i was like okay that was a weird time
165
because i looked at it and it stopped it was almost like ice stuff.
166
i was like i did something to the time.
167
did you know mom buying his money?
168
You're right, but yeah, how did you know that?
169
TV?
170
More like YouTube?
171
Ooh, your quesadilla looks good today.
172
I normally do not make them two separate breakfasts, but I had made pudding quesadillas the morning before for the first time,
173
and she loved them, so it was a special request.
174
And since we had a little bit of time, I agreed.
175
One tiny little quesadilla coming right up.
176
Would you like a quesadilla?
177
How much do you want to take in the car?
178
Ew.
179
You guys take your vitamins?
180
We made some major adjustments this past year that has made life a bit easier for all of us.
181
Except for when our head gets stuck in our pajamas.
182
Since we all go our separate ways, it's nice to have a bit of time in the morning together.
183
I'll see you later.
184
Alright guys, go to school!
185
I'm not going to school.
186
Go to preschool!
187
Of course, some mornings are not as smooth as others, but we try to keep it light and fun.
188
And not get too frantic or serious.
189
The morning is an important time that kickstarts your day.
190
We want to start it on a good note.
191
Love you, love you baby.
192
Bye bye.
193
Bye bye.
194
Ah, peace.
195
After the kids go, I usually have my breakfast.
196
My go -to on a busy day is low -fat yogurt with honey, granola and bananas.
197
Osara's son does his own thing when he gets back and while I eat breakfast, I usually watch something.
198
Maybe a little bit of Netflix or the news.
199
And then it's skin care and makeup time to get ready for the day.
200
On the days I get up at 4, I'm able to do this before the kids wake up, but not today.
201
My makeup literally takes about 5 minutes.
202
I put on foundation, drawing my eyebrows, which I can never get right, so that's why I have bangs.
203
Brown eyeshadow, black eyeliner, I never change it up, it's always the same.
204
A little bit of concealer for my age spots.
205
and my Revlon Colorstay Suede Ink lipstick to finish it off.
206
I love the color, I love how matte it is, and it stays.
207
I recently got a few earrings from Philip Audiper which I am loving.
208
So our work day is starting and every day I have different tasks to do.
209
But this morning Osaru -san and I are sitting down and we are recording our podcast for C -Place called Saruchika 15.
210
Saruchika 15!
211
Hey guys!
212
Hey guys!
213
Okay, cheers!
214
Cheers!
215
Hi, C -Betono -minasana.
216
Hello, good morning!
217
As you can see, it's super laid back and casual and that's why I love it.
218
And that's why a lot of our Seamates love it too.
219
I want to talk a little bit about English.
220
PuriN I was thinking about it.
221
I was also sharing the video about the alphabet game.
222
My mother and I are printing.
223
The theme is fruit.
224
We are able to reach the alphabet of fruits.
225
When I was in D, my mother was Dragon Fruit.
226
I was printing the G.
227
G. And then I said, What?
228
I said, I said, Barbie, Dragon Fruit.
229
I said, What word?
230
I said, I said, I said, D.
231
I said, D.
232
I said, Why?
233
I said, Dragon.
234
G. I said, D.
235
It's supposed to be a 15 -minute chat between Osaru -san and I, but it usually runs a little long.
236
What did you say about this?
237
I think it might be a little bit of a conversation.
238
One topic leads to another, and we always end up where we never imagined.
239
You don't want to do it, or you don't want to do it, or you don't want to do it. Do it.
240
You're not doing it.
241
Yes.
242
I'm really bad now.
243
Yeah, really.
244
What's that?
245
English?
246
English is still a coach.
247
It's a good job.
248
I'm not sure how to do my body.
249
Ah, that's it?
250
That's it.
251
So, I don't know if I'm going to go to the finals.
252
But I don't know if I'm going to go to the finals.
253
I don't know if I'm going to go to the finals.
254
I don't know if I'm going to go to the finals.
255

256
I had to do training for a month.
257

258
I did a trip.
259
I was in the middle of my life.
260
I was in the middle of my life.
261
I got back to the back.
262
