1
Good morning, it's Chica.
2
Welcome to another episode of Happy Monday.
3
Cheers!
4
Okay, hope you guys had a wonderful weekend.
5
In a previous episode, I shared with you the phrase at least.
6
And today is a similar thought and another thing
7
that always pops into my mind when something inconvenient happens or something a little devastating happens in my life.
8
That is everything happens for a reason.
9
Something recently that happened made me think this was my laptop breaking.
10
I need my laptop for absolutely everything I do.
11
So my whole work, like most of you, depends on my PC.
12
And the timing that it broke was very interesting because it actually happened on May 5th.
13
And I remember this because it was the day we had our big CreateYourDot event in Tokyo.
14
It was this Chikatomo festival that we had to celebrate our 15 years on YouTube.
15
And can you believe it?
16
My laptop broke that night.
17
The night before I was on my laptop editing a video to stream at the event.
18
That morning I opened my laptop and there's this big line across the screen.
19
A little staticky, shaky line.
20
And I'm like, oh no. I didn't drop it.
21
I didn't do anything.
22
But if I looked closely, there was a tiny speck of rock in my screen.
23
And And that had created a dent or a dot on the side of my screen.
24
And that's where the line was coming from.
25
At that point, I was just like, oh, it's so ironic that on the day that I'm having my create your dot event,
26
there is a dot on my laptop and it's creating a line.
27
That kind of gave me a good laugh to begin with.
28
But that night, the screen completely shut down.
29
I could not use my laptop anymore.
30
I'm not going to get into too many details of what happened after that.
31
But I got the screen fixed.
32
I paid a lot of money to get my screen fixed.
33
A couple days later, we had an incident while we were working.
34
A cup of water spills on my keyboard.
35
It was an accident.
36
We should have been more careful.
37
Probably could have been avoided.
38
But I was just like, okay, this truly means something.
39
And Osada -san was like, I think it just means to not spill water on your laptop.
40
And I'm like, no, no, this has to mean something.
41
I've had this laptop for years and I've never spilled water on it
42
and this timing a couple days after I get it fixed
43
so I just take this as a bigger message
44
and I actually have been thinking about the way I work and creating systems and better structures.
45
I'm still in the middle of it
46
so I'm definitely on my laptop a lot still
47
but it gave me something to think about
48
if you put it in a different perspective and maybe say to yourself does this mean something?
49
Is this incident trying to tell me something?
50
Is there something I can learn from it?
51
Then all these negative occurrences can turn out positive.
52
I believe that whatever happened to my laptop happened for a reason.
53
They say that when a lot of things start breaking,
54
something's coming up or a new chapter is coming up and I like to believe that too.
55
I'm just praying good changes are coming.
56
One last thing that I want to share that happened very recently was, as you guys know, I journal.
57
I journal every day in this daily journal.
58
I think this is like my fifth daily journal
59
but I actually finished this on the day that Pilingrl Academy opened
60
and how ironic because I kind of did feel like this was a new chapter opening.
61
I was just like oh my gosh it's my last page and it's the day.
62
So I feel like things happen for a reason
63
and you can't explain it and maybe there's a part of you that's maneuvering it
64
but I just like to take the better end of that and think
65
it's a good message
66
and I thought I would share what I wrote at the very beginning of the journal
67
because I'm going to be starting a new journal.
68
I've got the box right here.
69
I'm actually starting it today.
70
I should have started it the day we opened
71
Bilingual Academy but that whole week was just crazy.
72
For those of you who don't know what I'm talking about when I say
73
Bilingual Academy, check out the description but yes this is the box
74
that the daily journal comes in grab a pen change your life in the last journal
75
i wrote a brand new chapter of my identity begins no
76
more putting myself in boxes the boxes are just a part of me
77
i am bigger deeper more spacious than i ever imagined
78
i was going through a bit of an identity crisis last year and i was really trying to figure myself out.
79
I think we often put ourselves in boxes
80
and I had finally figured out that I don't belong in a box but the boxes belong in me.
81
That came from like a year of journaling.
82
Having found that about myself I finished a whole nother journal and another chapter begins.
83
Oh I'm so excited.
84
The cover feels so nice.
85
It just kind of melts into your life.
86
So I thought this incident was very symbolic to today's episode where everything happens for a reason
87
and I finished the journal at this time and Whether it's my laptop breaking or a car breaking down,
88
whatever it is, everything happens for a reason.
89
And it's just a switch in your mind of how do you think about things, but it helps.
90
It helps you get over that slump and take something away from it.
91
I think Happy Monday is all about sharing these realizations
92
and insights that make your life a little bit easier or happier or a little less stressful.
93
And I love sharing these thoughts with you.
94
How was it?
95
I was just a lot of questions.
96
Everything happens for a reason.
97
I feel like I'm not sure what happened.
98
But I'm not sure why I'm not sure why I'm not sure why I'm not sure why.
99
I'm not sure why I'm not sure why I'm not sure why I'm not sure why.
