What You'll Learn

This video is a goldmine for building practical speaking skills! You’ll master 15 job-search vocabulary words and phrases, like "CV," "application letter," and "interview," while practicing real-life sentences you’d use when searching for a job. The shadowing method here also trains you to speak more fluently—you’ll learn to keep up with natural speech pace, which is key for IELTS speaking practice and everyday conversations. Plus, you’ll gain confidence in structuring clear, coherent responses, just like the speaker does when answering the manager’s questions.

Listen For These Sounds

Pay close attention to connected speech in the dialogue! For example, "started looking" links into "start-lookin’" (the "ed" in "started" softens to a quick "d" sound, and "looking" loses its hard "g"). You’ll also hear reductions like "wanted someone" becoming "wanna someone" (the "ed" in "wanted" blends into the next word). These small sound changes are what make native speech flow, and practicing them with shadow speak will make your pronunciation sound more natural. Don’t miss how "sent everything" links smoothly—"sent" ends with a "t," and "everything" starts with an "e," so it becomes "sen-teverything."

Say It Like a Native

To mirror the speaker’s rhythm, focus on stress: in "interesting position," "in-TER-est-ing" and "po-SI-tion" get the most emphasis. When the speaker says, "Be calm and confident," the stress is on "calm" and "con-fi-DENT"—this creates a natural, engaging flow. Use the shadowing technique (repeat immediately after the speaker) to copy their pace and intonation. This isn’t just about improving English pronunciation; it’s about training your mouth and brain to work together like a native’s. Whether you’re prepping for IELTS or just want to speak faster, shadowspeaks practice here will help you remember words longer and sound more confident. So hit play, repeat, and let your English skills shine!
