This video is the ultimate guide to Amazon FBM merchant fulfillment in 2026.

Personally, I've sold tens of thousands of FBM orders on Amazon the past couple of years,

so I know more about FBM than basically anyone that makes videos on the internet.

I'm going to go into what is FBM,

the pros and cons of merchant fulfilling,

the shipping supplies you need to use,

how to actually calculate FBM shipping,

and what to actually charge for FBM shipping,

and how to know if you can actually FBM a product in the first place.

So if you want to make a lot of money selling on Amazon as a completely new seller in 2026,

this video is the perfect video for you.

FBM is great for beginners.

So let's dig in.

Starting off, what actually is FBM?

FBM stands for fulfillment by merchant,

shipping products directly to the customer individually.

It's a way of selling products on Amazon.

The other way being FBA fulfillment by Amazon,

where you ship items in bulk to the Amazon FBA warehouse,

the ones you see off the side of the highway,

and they handle the rest.

You can do FBA and FBM at the same time on the same Amazon seller account,

even on the same product.

And FBM is really good for beginners because FBM lets you test lighter

so you can buy less of products as well as fulfill items faster to customers.

Because when you FBA something,

typically you have to wait two or three weeks for it to actually check into Amazon.

You can place smaller orders as well because you don't need to fill an entire box to save money with bulk shipping.

You have faster cashflow.

So it scales super fast.

FBA makes a ton of sense on any type of seasonal products.

Think like Valentine's Day products during Valentine's Day or Easter products leading up to Easter,

Q4 and toy items during Q4,

the end of the year during the holiday season,

and stuff like back to school as well.

Also, when you FBM something,

you don't have FBA fees,

which means certain items are more profitable selling FBA compared to FBM.

Make sure to watch the end of this video so you can see an example of that.

So overall, FBM makes a ton of sense for beginners.

Let's talk about the shipping supplies you need.

So this is something I see a ton of beginners super confused about.

Luckily, there's only three that you need and there's no fancy labeling process or anything with FBM like there is with FBA.

The first shipping supply you're going to need for FBM is going to be shipping labels

that you can actually get completely free from the UPS website.

So all you guys need to do is Google UPS free shipping supplies

and you can go ahead and hit this link right here,

ups.com shipping order supplies, et cetera.

Then you can go here and get the free shipping labels that go on the outside of the polymailer or box.

There's no FN SKU labels or anything like that with FBM,

which is super convenient.

You do need those little FN SKU labels for FBA,

but you guys don't need to worry about that with FBM.

The next shipping supply you're going to need guys is going to be polymailers.

This is going to make a lot of sense for the types of products like clothing and stuff that's less fragile,

typically under one pound that can fit in a polymailer.

You can just get these from Amazon.

9x12 and 12x15 are two sizes I like for beginners,

but there's a variety of different sizes you can go ahead and use,

as well as for boxes.

I like getting them from Walmart or Uline.

You need to make sure you're using unbranded boxes though,

so it can't have any branding on it.

Like this is perfect.

Uline ones are good.

Home Depot, unfortunately typically have branding on them.

The reason why you need to use unbranded boxes because if someone receives a package with a Home Depot box,

sometimes they're going to think you're drop shipping or think that they ordered from a different website or anything.

Customers are stupid sometimes on Amazon.

So Amazon might give you a drop shipping violation,

which can be bad for your account.

So make sure to use unbranded boxes when you're doing FBM,

Walmart, and Uline are a great place to get them.

So once you actually list your inventory on Amazon,

which you should just go ahead and use boxem4boxem.com.

It makes a listing, shipping,

and analytics process significantly easier.

What do you actually charge for FBM shipping,

which basically comes down to what's called your shipping template right there.

So I would recommend when you do FBM for free standard and economy orders,

just do $0 plus $0 per pound.

The reason we can go ahead and do that,

guys, is because there's no FBA fees.

So when you FBA something,

you pay the FBA fees,

but you don't pay individual shipping.

And when you FBM something,

you don't pay FBA fees,

but you do pay individual shipping.

You just buy whatever shipping is cheapest through Amazon.

And so it ends up being about the same thing typically more on that a little bit later too.

And then for next day,

two day and expedited orders.

So when customers want the product quicker,

those you should go ahead and charge $30 plus a dollar per pound for.

So next day, two day expedited orders in your shipping template.

And then during the big seasonal times of the year,

it's a really good tip to write down,

you can raise those prices well.

And buyers pay a ton for that.

And another hidden profit part of FBM is

that sometimes customers will order multiple products in one order and you still have to pay the one shipping cost,

which doesn't double, it typically goes up by a few bucks,

but the profit doubles.

As well as all the time when you're doing a lot of FBM,

like for me personally, like you get tons of orders work during the big seasons of the year.

People are paying 42 or 44 or 52,

depending on what you charge for these products for expedite shipping.

And you might buy shipping same day through Amazon

and only pay 13 or 12 or 10 or 15 bucks and you make a ton of extra profit.

So there's a lot of extra profitability hidden in FBM orders as well right there.

And that's what you charge in your shipping template.

And what FBM friendly means is if we have a good chance of getting the buy box on it, FBM.

And the way we go ahead and do that is what's called the Keepa buy box statistics.

We want to make sure that other FBM stars are getting FBM on this specific product.

And the key is everything is FBA friendly because Amazon wants to give it the buy box FBA.

And then the last thing I want to go over with you guys,

this is super, super important.

This is probably the number one thing I see beginners mess up is identifying how profitable a product is FBM

and seeing that some items are substantially more profitable FBM compared to FBA as well.

And what we want to do to do that,

You do not just subtract FBM shipping to identify this.

What you actually do is scroll down here on seller amp and toggle this from FBA to FBM.

And then we need to plug in the FBM shipping cost,

And typically the type of items that'll fit this criteria that'll be better FBM compared to FBA are items
