because we're drifting you might also be wondering why are the numbers different from the leading wheel

and the trailing wheel well that's usually what manufacturers do to

make the cars kind of have a natural feel the trailing wheel will drag just a little bit

and actually help in the drift and make the wheel want to snap back

and come back around we're not going to treat this whole

build like one big pile of parts we're going to break

it into four separate systems first off the differential we need

both our rear wheels to do the same exact thing when we ask them to Second, we need a suspension that can handle grip, weight transfer, and alignment.

Third, we need more steering angle in which to catch the car when we're sliding that thing around.

And finally, we need a handbrake that can consistently brake rear traction when the driver asks for it.

So let's get to it.

One of the major things we need to do is get our rear diff removed

and sent to a professional to get installed.

If our OSGuyken one and a halfway diff uses clutch packs, then that's going to give us a lot more predictability while we're drifting.

By welding the diff, we're locking the two wheels together so whenever I turn this one, the other one spins with it.

Because Lokar's wheels turn at the same speed no matter what, friction becomes a much bigger deal.

When attempting tighter turns in a parking lot, the inside wheel will constantly skitter and chirp.

And at higher speeds, this dynamic will cause understeer when entering turns.

High Team's differential, on the other hand only locks

when they want it to making it much better suited for daily driving with more predictable handling

and smoother transitions on the track what we got here is

a delicious spread of suspension components from megan racing these right here are new megan adjustable coilovers these collars here

and these threads allow us to adjust our ride height

and also this knob up top is going to allow us to dial in how soft

or hard our ride is we also got these megan control arms for the rear they include the camber toe

and right here are little bolt -on adapters for our knuckles

that are going to allow us to have a lot more steering angle

so really the main difference

that we're going to see from the cheap versus expensive stuff is the amount of adjustability

at the front is our beautiful nismo power brace very classy this guy's a lot more beefier

and is going to make our front end super tight.

And these right here are our HKS Hyper Max coil loaders.

These are going to keep us super planted to the road.

We got all these control arms for caster, camber, so we can adjust all that.

These spindles right here, which are going to give us a ton of angle.

And we got this super beefy front sway bar, which is going to keep our front end stable.

All of this looks super daunting to install.

This is a lot of stuff.

There's a lot of stability that needs to happen in these cars.

That's why all these suspension parts are going to be so key.

Now, you want to be breaking the traction loose in the back enough to be sliding, but also not too much so you'll loop out.

You want the front to have enough steering angle to catch you, but also if you have too much, you're just going to hit all the suspension parts in here.

So we're going to go through and make sure that we have enough grip to go forward, but not enough to spin out.

So one thing that's really nice since we're literally replacing everything, All I have to do is loosen it from the chassis side, drop the coilover, remove the brake caliper, and all of this comes out.

put this puzzle together i'm just going to slowly assemble the new setup just like the old setup

and that way it flies just as fast in as it came out

which is about 33 percent stiffer it's not going to be as forgiving as a daily driver

but in comparison it's going to give us more performance i'd say 8k we're running 6k over here with our

It's about three quarters more of a liter, but also it helps essentially scrape the oil from the differential ring gear over here
