5
Let us begin today's reflection with open minds, humble hearts, and a spirit ready to receive.
6
August 6, 2026.
7
Feast of the Transfiguration of the Lord.
8
Let us now listen to the Word of God.
9
A reading from the book of the prophet Daniel.
10
I watched until thrones were placed, and the Ancient of Days sat down.
11
His vestment was white like snow, and the hair of his head was like clean wool.
12
His throne was flames of fire, its wheels were burning fire.
13
A swift stream of fire issued forth from his face.
14
Thousands of thousands ministered to him, and ten thousand times one hundred thousand assisted him.
15
The court was seated, and the books were opened.
16
I watched, therefore, in the vision of the night, and behold, one like the Son of Man arrived with the clouds of heaven.
17
And he reached even to the Ancient of Days, and they presented him before him.
18
And he gave him power and honor and a kingdom.
19
And all peoples, tribes, and languages will serve him.
20
His power is an everlasting power which will not be taken away.
21
And his kingdom is one that will not be corrupted.
22
The Word of the Lord.
23
Responsorial Psalm The response is The Lord is King the Most High over all the earth.
24
The Lord has reigned.
25
Let the earth exult.
26
Let the many islands rejoice.
27
Clouds and darkness are all around Him.
28
Justice and judgment are the preparation of His throne.
29
The Lord is King the Most High over all the earth.
30
The mountains melted like wax before the face of the Lord, before the face of the Lord of all the earth.
31
The heavens announced his justice and all peoples saw his glory.
32
The Lord is King, the Most High over all the earth.
33
For you are the Most High over all the earth, O Lord.
34
You are greatly exalted above all gods.
35
The Lord is King, the Most High over all the earth.
36
A reading from the second letter of Saint Peter.
37
For it was not by following learned fables
38
that we made known to you the power and presence of our Lord Jesus Christ.
39
Instead, we became eyewitnesses of his greatness.
40
For he received honor and glory from God the Father, when a voice came down to him from the sublime glory,
41
saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.
42
Listen to him.
43
We also heard this voice conveyed from heaven when we were with him on the holy mountain.
44
And so we possess the prophetic word confirmed all the more.
45
You do well to attend to this as
46
if to a lamp shining in a dark place until the day dawns and the day star rises in your hearts.
47
The word of the Lord.
48
Alleluia, Alleluia!
49
This is my beloved Son with whom I am well pleased.
50
Listen to him.
51
Alleluia, Alleluia!
52
A reading from the Holy Gospel according to Saint Matthew
53
And after six days Jesus took Peter and James and his brother John, and he led them onto a lofty mountain separately.
54
And he was transfigured before them.
55
And his face shined like the sun, and his garments became white like snow.
56
And behold, Moses and Elijah appeared to them, conversing with him.
57
Then Peter responded by saying to Jesus, Lord, it is good for us to be here.
58
If you are willing, let us make three tabernacles in this place, one for you, one for Moses, and one for Elijah.
59
While he was still speaking, behold, a shining cloud overshadowed them.
60
And behold, a voice from the cloud, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.
61
Listen to him.
62
And the disciples, hearing this, fell prone on their face, and they were very afraid.
63
And Jesus drew near and touched them.
64
And He said to them, Rise up and do not be afraid.
65
Then lifting up their eyes, they saw no one except Jesus alone.
66
And as they were descending from the mountain,
67
Jesus instructed them, saying, Tell no one of the vision until the Son of Man has risen from the dead.
68
The Gospel of the Lord.
69
We will now reflect on the significance of each readings.
70
On this Feast of the Transfiguration of the Lord, August 6, 2026, the Church invites us to contemplate the radiant glory of Jesus Christ,
71
revealed before Peter, James, and John.
72
For a brief moment, the disciples are given a glimpse of His divine majesty, strengthening them for the suffering that lies ahead.
73
Today's readings remind us that the One who would later carry the cross is also the eternal Son of God, whose glory fills heaven and earth.
74
They call us to listen to him with trusting hearts, knowing that his light leads us to everlasting life.
75
The first reading from the book of Daniel presents a majestic vision of heaven.
76
Daniel sees the ancient one seated upon his throne, surrounded by glory and countless heavenly beings.
77
He then beholds one like a son of man receiving everlasting dominion, honor, and kingship over all nations.
78
The message is clear and accessible, Jesus is the promised Messiah whose kingdom will never end, and his authority extends over all creation for all eternity.
79
The Responsorial Psalm joyfully proclaims the Lord as King over the whole earth.
80
Mountains melt before his presence, the heavens declare his righteousness, and all peoples behold his glory.
81
The psalm reminds us that God's majesty is not distant or hidden.
82
He reigns with justice, holiness, and perfect love, inviting all people to worship him with reverence and joy.
83
The second reading from the second letter of Saint Peter offers the testimony of one who witnessed the transfiguration firsthand.
84
Peter recalls seeing Christ's majesty on the holy mountain and hearing the Father's voice declare, This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased.
85
He assures the church that the gospel is not based on myths or human imagination, but on the truth revealed by God himself.
86
His witness encourages us to hold firmly to Christ, the light that shines in the darkness.
87
The gospel according to Matthew recounts the transfiguration of Jesus.
88
On the mountain, his face shines like the sun, and his garments become dazzling white.
89
Moses and Elijah appear beside him, speaking with him, while Peter longs to remain in that glorious moment.
90
Then a bright cloud overshadows them, and the Father's voice proclaims, This is my beloved Son,
91
with whom I am well pleased, listen to him.
92
As the disciples fall to the ground in awe, Jesus gently touches them and says, Rise, and do not be afraid.
93
When they look up, they see Jesus alone, leading them back down the mountain.
94
Now, let's look deeper into the interconnection shown in the readings, to find their main message.
95
This gospel reminds us that moments of deep spiritual consolation are meant to strengthen us for faithful living.
96
The disciples could not remain on the mountain forever.
97
They had to return to the ordinary path of discipleship, carrying with them the certainty that Christ's glory would ultimately triumph over suffering and death.
98
We, too, are called to keep our eyes fixed on Jesus, allowing his light to guide us through every challenge we encounter.
99
These readings come together around the theme of Christ's revealed glory.
100
Daniel foretells the everlasting reign of the Son of Man.
101
The Psalm proclaims the majesty of the Lord over all the earth.
102
Peter bears witness to the glory he personally witnessed, and the Gospel reveals Jesus as the beloved Son whom the Father commands us to hear.
103
Together, they remind us
104
that the One who calls us to take up our cross is also the glorious Lord who leads us to eternal life.
105
The central message today is that the light of Christ transforms those who listen to Him.
106
The Feast of the Transfiguration reminds us that every encounter with Jesus strengthens us to remain faithful, even through trials and uncertainty.
107
As we keep our eyes fixed on His glory and faithfully follow His word, we become living reflections of His light in a world longing for hope.
108
Let us pray.
109
Loving Father, thank you for revealing the glory of your beloved Son upon the holy mountain.
110
Open our hearts to listen to His voice with faith, courage, and joyful obedience.
111
When we face trials, strengthen us with the hope of His victory and the promise of His everlasting Kingdom.
112

Analizziamolo: frasi naturali e come imitarle

  • "Welcome to The Word Today TV, where we open our hearts to God's living Word": La struttura "where we..." crea un collegamento diretto e naturale, tipico delle presentazioni. La pronuncia di "open our hearts" è dolce, con un leggero accento sulla parola "hearts" che da enfasi. Imita il tono caloroso per rendere la frase autentica.
  • "May the Holy Spirit guide us as we journey through Scripture": L'uso di "may" per le preghiere è molto comune in inglese. La parola "journey" è pronunciata con una pausa prima di "through", a indicare il percorso. Prova a ripetere la frase mantenendo la stessa lentezza per captare la devozione.
  • "The Lord is King the Most High over all the earth": La ripetizione di "the Lord is King" crea un ritmo cadenzato, tipico dei salmi. L'accento su "Most High" e "over all the earth" dà importanza al messaggio.
