1
Blessed is the servant whom is Lord when he comes shall find him so doing.
2
Verily I say unto you that he shall make him ruler of all his goods.
3
Lord be God for gathering us all together today,
4
our beloved fathers, deacons, our beloved today's king and queen that is celebrating your holy matrimony,
5
my brother and sister, and all that is gathered here in the holy sanctuary.
6
Lord be God, today's gospel that we read is Matthew chapter 24,
7
verse 36 to end.
8
And as we remember, this Gospel,
9
this specific chapter, is when the disciples had gathered together alone,
10
only twelve, with Christ.
11
As they were accustomed with Jesus Christ,
12
they would ask Him questions relating to the teaching that He was teaching that day.
13
And this was their custom.
14
Just like a very good student, right after a long class,
15
would stay to ask his teacher to elaborate on the lesson that was given,
16
the 12 disciples, because they had the blessing to stay with Christ for 3 years and 3 months,
17
they would ask Him about in accordance to what He taught on that day.
18
So in this specific chapter, one question they asked him once they were in the Mount of Olives
19
because he heard the Pharisees telling them that if you break on this temple in three days,
20
I shall rise it again.
21
Speaking of the temple, they asked him to tell him about the end of days.
22
What is the sign?
23
Now, disciples were looking for an answer
24
that He's going to tell them about the signs that was coming in the pure nature,
25
in the long future.
26
But through His teaching, He made them realize that for the heart, for that that is ready.
27
His judgment day is not one that he awaits for signs, but his judgment day is today.
28
So he told them the parable that assuredly that he who waits for his master diligently,
29
he will be rewarded greatly than the others.
30
Now in many cases, when Christ taught the gospel, the disciples were either looking for signs,
31
physical healing, but in all aspects,
32
Christ with His gospel always reminded them that don't look for a judgment day
33
or a prediction that's going to happen in thousands of years, but your judgment day is today.
34
the day that if you do not know that your life that you have no assurance of your life for tomorrow,
35
that means the end of days is today for you.
36
So he told them the parable for that master,
37
for that servant that is always ready and that has always been doing his deeds every single day regardless of the season.
38
the one that has persevered without season with season
39
or on season he told them blessed he that servant because
40
when the master comes he will verily verily give him the best reward
41
and that reward is the reward of forgiveness so my brothers
42
and sisters the day of repentance repentance the day of our
43
judgment is today don't let one minute of your life and how blessed
44
and glory be god it is that we all dwell and we all are participating
45
in this holy communion as saint peter reminds us
46
when he saw how good it was in
47
that mount of tabur to be with him he wanted forever to be in that midst of joy and he asked, Lord, let us be in this joy forever.
48
And that's the kind of cry that we should cry today.
49
This kind of communion that we take for granted every single Sunday or every time the church offers this feast,
50
we shall cry like St. Peter.
51
Let this communion be in my life forever.
52
Let me live in this alms.
53
Let me live in this spirit forever.
54
because there is no greater joy than participating in His Eucharist, than participating in His Holy Communion,
55
than communing with our Lord Jesus Christ because He said, if you drink, if you eat and drink from my body,
56
from my holy divine flesh and precious blood, I will live in you and you will live in me.
57
So what greater joy is there than having Christ living in us, my brothers and sisters?
58
So let us drive ourselves to live in this communion, to live into the liturgical life.
59
A lot of times, maybe in St. Paul or Spot Church, I see that you guys are at least a little better than most of us in churches.
60
But many of us have made it a trend to common liturgy after half of it is gone.
61
Or maybe even at the end to commune our babies.
62
how many Sundays and how many of this joyous liturgy have we missed?
63
So let us train for us to live in this.
64
This is what will protect us from what's of the wrath that will come in judgment day.
65
This is the reward that we will get at the end of the promise that He gave us, that He will live for us, with us.
66
So he said in this Matthew chapter 24, that servant that always lives in repentance,
67
that is always ready, shall be the one to get the best reward.
68
May God the Almighty protect us and persevere us
69
so we can hear this voice of reward that one day when Christ at the end judges all, that we are found to stand with Him.
70
Amen
