I think I'm starting to hate my best friend because he makes more money than me.

This is Nick.

When I first met him in sixth grade, I thought he was an annoying nerd.

I even got a detention for almost getting in a fight with him.

But we randomly started playing video games together, became really good friends, and even ended up winning a national esports tournament together.

Then we both found the gym and started posting content.

And that's when everything started to change.

At first, it was fine.

He started before me, so when he hit 150 ,000 followers, I was really happy for him, even if I was only at 40k.

But slowly, things started to shift.

He kept growing and when I moved to college in my hometown, he was making enough money to buy a cool car and move down to Miami.

And I kept telling myself I was still happy for him.

But I'd get off a FaceTime call with him, go to my own page, my own bank account, seeing that I couldn't afford that lifestyle.

Just feel so behind.

Just this last weekend, I drove down to Miami with him and that's when it all happened.

While we were driving into the city in his brand new car, I was thinking back to the last 10 years we knew each other.

And I realized the whole time I was comparing myself against him, he was one of the only reasons I never stopped pushing.

Seeing him go down his own path away from college

and make it was the exact proof I needed to keep going and do it myself.
