I'd like to talk about one of the most important historical events in Vietnam's history, which is Vietnam Liberation Day,

celebrated on April 30, 1975.

This day marked the end of the Vietnam War and the reunification of North and South Vietnam.

To give you a bit of background, before this event Vietnam had been divided into two regions.

The North was under Communist leadership, while the South was supported and governed by the United States and its allies.

The Vietnam War, which lasted for more than two decades, brought enormous suffering and devastation to the Vietnamese people.

Countless lives were lost, and the country was severely damaged.

However, on April 30, 1975,

North Vietnamese forces launched a large-scale offensive and and successfully captured Saigon, which is now known as Ho Chi Minh City.

This decisive victory led to the collapse of the South Vietnamese government

and ultimately resulted in the reunification of the country under a single political system.

The scenes on that historic day were both chaotic and joyful.

People poured into the streets, waving flags, cheering and celebrating the long-awaited end of the war.

For many Vietnamese citizens, it was a moment of huge relief

national pride as they had endured years of hardship loss

and uncertainty of course the period

that followed brought significant challenges such as rebuilding the nation

and healing the deep divisions left by the war nevertheless Vietnam

Liberation Day remains one of the most glorious milestones in the
20
country's history it not only opened a new chapter for Vietnam

as a unified nation but also symbolize the resilience determination
22
and courage of the Vietnamese people in their fight for independence freedom and territorial sovereignty
