"Believe in the Kamina who believes in you !" "Believe in me

that believes in you." A quote that has stuck with me

so much that I've started saying it in nearly all of my videos.

But, what does this statement truly mean?

And why is it the most important quote I've heard from any other anime I've watched?

"Believe in me that believes in you" is a quote from Kamina in the anime Gurren Lagann.

It's directed at the main character, Simone, who, like most anime main characters, is...

A bitch.

The earth is ruled by the spiral king who commands these gunmen, which are basically mechas, that make it extremely dangerous for humans to live on the surface.

So they're forced to live underground.

Guren Login starts off as a brotherhood between Kamina and Simone, who decide to break out from their underground village and defeat the spiral king and all of his gunmen.

And what other way to fight gunmen than with other gunmen?

So the importance of the quote.

Simone is a little kid that really doesn't have much confidence.

And so, since Simone really can't have much confidence in himself, Kamina tells him to believe in Kamina that believes in Simone.

There are times in Gurren Lagann where Simone feels completely helpless

and most of these times are in battle and when they're fighting enemies and other gunmen.

So in the first episode, Simone finds his first gunman,

which is basically this drill mecha and the underground village collapses and it turns out to be because of a gunman.

And so in the midst of their first battle, Kamina tells Simone, to believe in the me that believes in you.

Early on in the series, Kamina and Simone actually combine their gunmen to become one super powerful gunman, Gurren Lagann.

One cannot function without the other.

The gunman's powers is controlled by masculine drive and emotion.

That is why Kamina is always at the top of his game.

With Kamina teaching Simone how to become a better man, how to be more fierce,

more strong, more powerful, and how to defeat his enemies.

That is why believe in me that believes in you is so important in the beginning of the show, because Simone has such little confidence in himself,

but he needs to also be able to perform at the same time, and so Kamina tells him to believe in the me that believes in you.

And with this quote, Kamina is constantly pushing Simone to challenge himself

and come out of his comfortness to push past his limits.

And they do this multiple times throughout the series.

And Simone pushes Kamina past his limits as well.

Simone is one of the big reasons that Kamina is so full of drive and full of energy to achieve.

This really boils down to the power of brotherhood.

And the power of having a really good network of friends

and people around you that are gonna push you and challenge you to go past your limits.

Kamina understands in his world, in Gurren Lagann, that you either perform or you die.

And with this quote and with this mindset, Kamina is instilling this into Simone because he knows that Simone has to either perform or die.

Which leads to the second variation, the final variation of the quote.

Kamina You see, Kaminah needed to tell Simone,

"Believe in me that believes in you" because Simone didn't have much confidence in himself.

Which is good in the beginning, but you must come to believe in yourself.

You must come to have confidence in yourself so that you can achieve things for yourself.

You can't have anybody else be your pure source of confidence and motivation in yourself.

You must have almost a level of arrogance in yourself such as Kamina does in order to achieve in life

and to reach your goals.

That's why Kamina never runs away from a fight.

He always told people straight up.

He wasn't afraid to call Yoko a bitch.

In the short time that Kamina was in the series, Kamina showed and taught Simone how to become a man.

And with Kamina's guidance, he was able to believe in him that believes in himself.

are people who are going to tell you to believe in me who believes in you.

That's why it's so important to encourage the people around you, your friends and your family to achieve greatness in their life.

You must tell them to believe in the me that believes in you, just as you need people in your life to tell you that.

And we all know that we are the sum of the five people that we hang around with.

And it's also true for our online influences as well.

You must inspire and motivate others to constantly improve their lives because that's what life should be all about is constant improvement.

And I believe that if you can surround yourself with the kind of people who are going to tell you that, then you can do some serious damage in life.

And that is why believe in me that believes in you

and believe in the you that believes in you is the most important words I've ever heard in an anime.
