1
Some people show their gratitude by doing things with actions.
2
Like opening the door for others.
3
Like helping an old lady cross the street.
4
Like saying good morning, good afternoon, or good evening to a random person on the street.
5
Like my friend cooking for me.
6
and not waking me up so that I could get a good rest.
7
But I do think we don't express our gratitude enough verbally.
8
To your family, to your parents,
9
to your friends, we should get more used to expressing what exactly we're grateful for about them.
10
If it's the support they give us, the safety we feel around them,
11
or simply because they're there, their presence in our lives.
12
And time is the most valuable thing that we have.
13
So just showing up, being grateful for those details is important.
14
And expressing them however you can.
15
I know for a lot of people it's difficult to express their gratitude verbally.
16
so they'll show their gratitude in other ways.
17
Like I said, with actions, maybe by giving things.
18
Not everybody feels comfortable expressing those things.
19
But I encourage you to try if you don't do it often.
20
Try expressing your gratitude and showing that to someone you love today.
21
We don't always know if tomorrow is assured.
22
So say what you want to say today.
23
Why wait until we almost lose someone to then appreciate them?
24
Why do we have to wait for something terrible to happen? To feel appreciative.
25
Don't forget the small moments.
26
Don't forget to notice.
27
Now, another good question I have for you.
28
How does traveling change the way we appreciate our homes,
29
our lifestyles, our environment?
30
I think when you travel, it gives you a fresh perspective.
31
A perspective that is difficult to see when you're doing the same thing and hanging out in the same spaces every day.

35
At least when I travel, I'm looking around at the people,
36
at the buildings, at the trees, listening to the sounds and the language around me.
37
And I'm like, wow, this place is incredible.
38
Even though it's exactly the same as my home country.
39
It always makes me feel super grateful for my home country as well as the place I'm traveling in
40
because I go home and I think it's
41
so cool here too how did I never realize
42
that the people here are so friendly the food is so delicious the culture is so rich that's why I love traveling.
43
What do you think?
44
Have you ever gone to another country and appreciated it a lot more than your home country?
45
Think about that and take that same attitude and use it where you live.
46
Notice how amazing the place you live is is and why tourists would go where you live as well.
47
If you had to write a thank you letter, an appreciation letter to someone in your life,
48
who would it be to and what would it say?
49
You see, for me, if it wasn't my friends or my family,
50
I think it would be to all the people who were kind
51
and patient and understanding with me when they didn't know me,
52
they didn't know what I was going through.
53
and they still decided to be kind.
54
I mostly think about my time in Thailand when I wasn't having a good time,
55
when I had to be in lots of uncomfortable situations.
56
And I still remember all of the people.
57
for some reason.
58
There was nothing special or crazy about these people,
59
but I remember them because I was going through a very difficult time and those people were kind
60
without knowing about my situation.
61
So if that's what I'm most grateful for,
62
something that those people probably don't know I'm that grateful for,
63
then imagine how you can make someone feel today just by
64
being kind just by choosing to open the door for
65
that person choosing to smile choosing to be patient choosing to
66
give I know I will today I hope you enjoyed our little conversation.
67
