1
I'm sick.
2
I made this tea because I'm sick.
3
I have a sore throat, a little bit of a cough, a lot of boogers.
4
I'm very congested.
5
And this tea is definitely helping me feel better.
6
Guess what it has?
7
My tea has turmeric, ginger, lime, and honey. And water.
8
And this is really helping me feel better.
9
It's really soothing my throat.
10
It's not really helping my boogers,
11
but I'll just have to blow my nose with some toilet paper.
12
That's the only way.
13
The turmeric The turmeric is helping boost my immune system.
14
The lime and honey is helping me soothe my throat.
15
And the ginger is also helping boost my immune system.
16
This is my home remedy for having a cold.
17
I went to the doctor this morning, and she checked my heartbeat.
18
She took my pressure.
19
She checked my throat.
20
I had to say, ah.
21
And she said that I don't have an infection.
22
I just have a cold.
23
And I just have to wait it out.
24
I can't take any antibiotics.
25
Just things like painkillers, like ibuprofen.
26
But it's so annoying to be sick because I'm the type of person that needs to move.
27
I need to move a little bit.
28
go to the gym or for a run or just do something.
29
I can't stay still.
30
I can't take time to recuperate.
31
And that's why I always take so long to recuperate fully because I don't give myself a break.
32
I don't pause and let my body rest, chill.
33
And it's very bad, but I think today I'm going to the gym anyway.
34
I don't care.
35
I know I need it.
36
I need to go for just a little run, just do a little exercise.
37
I woke up this morning with a bit of a sore throat, But as the day went on,
38
my throat got progressively worse.
39
And I started to have a cough.
40
So I walked to the corner of my street and I bought a juice.
41
It's like antigripal that's what it's called in Spanish
42
but it's basically just pineapple with orange juice with ginger
43
and I think lime maybe
44
and they mix it all together to make an anti -flu juice
45
and it's so good it really helped my throat feel better
46
and then I made some chicken soup and I had some of
47
that for lunch and then I made a coffee
48
but coffee is not good for you
49
when you have a sore throat coffee I think irritates your throat
50
when it's already sore so it hurt for a little bit there
51
and I decided to make a little tea to feel better.
52
It's sad because outside, it's so sunny out today.
53
The day is beautiful, but I just can't go outside.
54
If I walk around in the sun,
55
It will just make my throat feel worse and my cough get worse.
56
And I'll probably just feel uncomfortable walking around with a stuffy nose,
57
a sore throat, and a cough.
58
So today I decided to avoid going outside and just stay inside and work on the things I need to get done.
59
Like the opening of my English community where we speak together like this every day.
60
But you can speak back to us.
61
We learn with an international community of students that are just like you, who are afraid of making mistakes,
62
of sounding stupid, of being judged, or students who just froze when they wanted to say something.
63
You have the knowledge.
64
You can understand when I speak to you.
65
And I'm sure you can speak back to me.
66
You just need to start.
67
Even if it's just a few words at a time.
68
That's so much better than not doing anything at all.
69
And in the community, there's no pressure to speak.
70
There's no pressure to join.
71
There's no pressure to be perfect.
72
Nobody is.
73
And we just encourage others and lift each other up instead of bringing each other down.
74
And that support is what keeps so many students, more than 300 students in my community, motivated.
75
Motivated and disciplined to showing up to the conversation clubs every day to speak.
76
We have three conversation clubs every day, Monday to Friday.
77
So if you're interested, then check out the link in my description to join the wait list.
78
I open four times a year and I'm opening soon in October, I think.
79
So join the wait list so that you're notified
80
when I do open the community and so that you're the first to join.
81
I love just chatting with you guys like this.
82
It feels much more real, like we're actually having a conversation.
83
And you guys know I love reading your comments, so be sure to comment your home remedies because I need to think of some new ones.
84
I'm running out of ideas.
85
And I really loved this lesson specifically because it reminds me of the conversations we have in the community.
86
These little casual chats that are very real but also very comprehensible, right?
87
So tell me one new word that you learned in this video.
88
And like this video if you want more videos like this of us just casually chatting.
89
And if you liked this video, I'm sure you'd like my Learning English chat playlist.
90
So go check that out.
91
The link will be in the description and in the comments.
92
Remember guys, never stop learning.
93
I'll see you next week.
94
Bye.
