1
Let's go
2
I'm trying to journal every single day
3
and I've been doing it not perfectly for about three weeks
4
and it's all because I read this book called Mind Your Body.
5
It's like a self -help book about the connection between chronic physical symptoms
6
and the nervous system and it is truly like eye -opening.
7
She talks about how many people experience like stress,
8
anxiety, IBS, fatigue, burnout, migraines, so many symptoms and like chronic pain
9
that is all kind of caused by unresolved emotions and trauma and just like dysregulated nervous system.
10
I highly recommend you to read this book.
11
It's honestly so interesting and she gives you the tools to heal and to like regulate your nervous system.
12
I just quickly wanted to tell you guys about this book
13
because I was listening to a podcast
14
and the host was explaining her kind of personality or her as a person like perfectionist, people pleaser,
15
overachiever, hypervigilant and I was like oh my goodness that's me
16
and she talked about this book so I immediately went online
17
and I bought it I read it within a couple of days
18
and I was just like blown away
19
so that's why I wanted to tell you guys but now I'm gonna do my journal speak
20
breakfast is served we're having some sker with stewed apples
21
and homemade almond butter and here is the bread
22
that i just baked and some eggs and cappuccino i actually haven't had a homemade cappuccino in probably over three months.
23
We've always just had iced coffee so I'm excited for some cappuccino.
24
Thank you.
25
okay we're gonna go into the city to run some errands i have a little crafty project project
26
that I'm gonna do tomorrow
27
and I want to go to Muji buy some notebooks I'm gonna explain everything tomorrow
28
or maybe I should show you guys so you know what I'm trying to buy
29
um but I wanted to show you guys my outfit so I'm wearing my leather boots my Levi's shorts and
30
this wool sweater even though it is pretty warm outside
31
but i think we might be meeting our friends tonight
32
so i'm just kind of ready if we're going to be doing
33
that because it's going to get colder today or like later today okay
34
so this is the crafty project
35
that i'm going to be doing tomorrow i think i've been
36
waiting for a couple of months to do this i don't know why
37
but I'm really really excited because now I've gotten more
38
and more into journaling so I really want to make the traveler's notebook
39
and Helge bought this leather at a leather store for me in Madrid
40
and I have some appliances here some elastic cords something I will get into this tomorrow
41
but anyways I'm missing some notebooks to put into the traveler's notebook so I'm gonna go to Muji to buy those
42
we of course had to buy some snacks from muji we bought some pecans pecans
43
and almonds coated with milk chocolate
44
and kombucha i got this pink yuzu we usually always by this one the ginger one super good
45
but i was feeling a bit adventurous
46
good morning we are getting ready to go out
47
because it is beautiful weather today and it is a saturday
48
so we're gonna go out with our friends
49
that we hung out with yesterday we're gonna go to like the harbor where you can sunbathe, dip into the water and everything.
50
Henke is making breakfast and then we're off to go hang out in the sun.
51
I'm gonna bring my book with me.
52
I am reading the yesteryear.
53
I've been reading this for probably two months now.
54
It's been a very slow read for me I haven't been
55
consistent at all I've kind of gotten out of the routine of reading
56
which I'm really like annoyed about
57
but I think like this book is not helping with it
58
I don't know like how I'm enjoying it to be honest
59
I get it's gonna start reading East of Eden we accidentally bought like a small copy
60
so it's kind of like dense and the letters are quite small
61
but anyways it's like a pocket book but I am
62
so excited to read this book once he finishes and
63
when I finish this one I feel like I have
64
so many books
65
that I want to read I have to get back into
66
the game Matilda is very curious what we're having for breakfast
67
hey girl hey girl i wanted to show you guys what i'm wearing this is like a cargo mini skirt
68
we have yana's black tank top and then this is helge's bag and my sunnies
69
I'm gonna make a smoothie with some blueberries, banana, Thank you.
70
skir i actually just started buying skir i've always bought like greek yogurt
71
but i recently just started buying this one
72
and skir is literally from iceland
73
so i feel like even though this is not an icelandic brand
74
but i feel like i'm supporting iceland
75
and also with some i'm not gonna add this to my smoothie though
76
but this is icelandic fish jerky so this is actually Helge's grandpa
77
that makes these so
78
when we go to Iceland we usually bring a few bags of these home
79
because it is literally packed with protein and it is actually really good.
80
I mean it kind of like it's very fishy but I'm just so used to it.
81
I grew up eating fish jerky so it's very normal for me.
82
We call it harfiskur and we like to put some butter on it.
83
I'm going to show you.
84
It's kind of funny.
85
You guys might think it's a little bit disgusting.
86
I don't know.
87
I was trying to add some seeds into my smoothie because you can't really taste them.
88
So I add some hemp seeds and I'm also going to add pumpkin seeds.
89
I bought like a big jar of pumpkin seeds.
90
I think it's really good to sprinkle on food even though I almost always just forget about it
91
but apparently it's really high in magnesium.
92
So I'm going to add these.
93
you guys might think this is weird i totally understand that i mean fish with butter
94
but trust me this is the best way to eat it oh my goodness
95
okay guys this is how i'm gonna spend my afternoon i'm gonna get crafty
96
and finally make my very own traveler's notebook these are the things
97
that i bought from muji yesterday i bought some pens
98
and these notebooks i don't think i'm gonna show you guys in detail like the process
99
because i'm doing this for the first time
100
and i feel like i should get like a hang of it
101
and then eventually i would want to make another one i
102
bought this like charm from vintage it's actually a necklace
103
but i thought i could use it like in front of my journal i will show you guys later
104
but yeah I'm just gonna have a good time put on some cozy music
105
and get crafty I feel like it's been a really long time since I've been crafty like this
106
and I'm honestly like really excited
107
okay guys i did not expect this to be so tricky
108
because i've watched a bunch of videos and i feel like everyone makes this
109
so effortlessly i have to admit i've been struggling quite a
110
bit first of all i don't think this is necessary i printed this out to like have the references
111
and stuff but i honestly think it's just easier to measure i used a black pen i tried to use like
112
pencil and i also tried to use like white coloring paint
113
but it didn't work so i used this pencil
114
and then i saw like another video i mean
115
so like you can see
116
that this is almost for this like this reference is kind of this
117
but then i saw some other videos
118
and people recommended to like have enough space over here
119
so you can you know have enough of like notebooks in here
120
and i had drawn this line
121
so i can't really undo it i tried to put some rubbing alcohol on it
122
but it didn't work so but thankfully this is just on the inside
123
but I just know
124
that this is gonna annoy me now it's time to add the eyelets I'm gonna do the silver ones
125
And I think it's going to look pretty good with this dark brown color.
126
I was able to insert the eyelids.
127
It was a little bit tricky to begin with, but once I got the hang of it, it was really easy.
128
And I think these are so nice.
129
They're very small and I love the silver now we just need to add the elastic cord
130
and what color should i go with i feel like i
131
immediately know what color i want to pick i'm gonna go
132
with this one the turkeys how do you say it in
133
english in icelandic we say turkeys let's move on to the last step
134
oh my goodness can't believe that it's almost done this is so annoying
135
well guys this is the finished notebook i am really happy
136
how it turned out it took me probably two to three
137
hours to make it i mean it's also my first time i had to put double cord
138
because it's too thin so it's not strong enough to hold the notebook
139
so next time i'm definitely gonna buy a thicker one
140
and also i wish i would have put this hole a little bit higher up
141
because of the charm because it kind of drags it down a little bit
142
and also just for like the proportions it would have looked a little bit nicer up here
143
but other than that i think the colors go really really nicely together
144
and i'm going to show you how it looks on the inside okay
145
so this doesn't look good i'm like really sad about this um next time i will definitely buy a pencil
146
that you can use on leather oh so annoying
147
but thankfully it's on the inside and here are the notebooks
148
that i bought at muji yesterday i don't know i was like i didn't really know what i was picking
149
but i think this one is going to be the main journal
150
when i'm journaling every day
151
and then maybe like the small one for like to -do lists
152
and yeah i will figure out the setup later on i'm just
153
so excited to start journaling in this one
154
but helgi has started making pasta for dinner we've been making
155
like vodka pasta with a little bit of twist to it
156
so we have like fresh cherry tomatoes
157
and then we use ground beef to get a little bit extra protein in there
158
and canned tomatoes
159
and cream I guess it's not vodka pasta anymore I mean
160
we don't even put vodka in there we've never done
161
that I don't know why it's called vodka pasta but anyways it's like one of our comfort foods so
162
We'll be right back.
