Lección 5 · Etapa 1: Lo básico
Present continuous
PrincipianteForma y uso
am/is/are + -ing — algo que ocurre ahora o en estos días
1.Forma
Presente continuo = am / is / are + verbo con -ing.
| Sujeto | Afirmativa | Negativa | Pregunta |
|---|---|---|---|
| I | I'm working | I'm not working | Am I working? |
| he / she / it | she's working | she isn't working | Is she working? |
| we / you / they | they're working | they aren't working | Are they working? |
Con palabra interrogativa: What are you doing? Why is he laughing? Respuestas cortas: Yes, I am. / No, she isn't.
2.Añadir -ing
| Caso | Regla | Ejemplos |
|---|---|---|
| termina en e muda | se quita la e + ing | make → making, write → writing (pero see → seeing, be → being) |

¡Mira! Está lloviendo otra vez.
I can't talk now. I'm driving.

Algunos verbos describen un estado, no una acción (know, want, like, need, understand, believe, own), y normalmente no se usan en forma continua, aunque hables de ahora mismo: I know the answer (no I'm knowing). La próxima lección lo explica en detalle.
5.Errores comunes
