Dragonflies are insects that live part of their lives in water and part of their lives in the air.

Their life cycle has three main stages: egg, nymph, and adult.

Stage 1: Egg The life cycle of a dragonfly begins when a female dragonfly lays her eggs in or near water.

She may place them in ponds, lakes, or slow -moving streams, or even wet plants near water.
