1
Hello everyone and welcome back to English Fluency Teacher.
2
Today we're going to practice one of the most powerful techniques for improving your English speaking – shadowing.
3
Now, you might be asking, what is shadowing and why should I do it?
4
Shadowing is a method where you listen to a sentence in English and then repeat it out loud,
5
copying the pronunciation, rhythm and intonation as closely as possible.
6
It's like becoming an actor and stepping into the role of a native speaker.
7
The benefits of shadowing are amazing.
8
It helps you improve your pronunciation and sound more natural.
9
It trains your listening skills so you can catch real English in movies and conversations.
10
It builds your speaking confidence, because you're practicing in real time.
11
And most importantly, it helps you think in English, not just translate from your native language.
12
If you practice shadowing every day, your English will improve faster than you imagine.
13
You will begin to feel comfortable speaking, and you'll sound smoother, more fluent and more confident.
14

useful English that you can use every single day in real life.

  • "I usually wake up at 6.40 in the morning" (Di solito mi sveglio alle 6:40 del mattino)
  • "The first thing I do is stretch my arms and legs" (La prima cosa che faccio è allungarmi le braccia e le gambe)
  • "I prepare a simple breakfast like eggs and toast" (Preparo una colazione semplice come uova e toast)
  • "I always make sure I have my keys, wallet and phone" (Mi assicuro sempre di avere le chiavi, il portafoglio e il telefono)
  • "If the bus is late, I use the time to review my schedule" (Se l'autobus è in ritardo, uso il tempo per controllare il mio programma)

Correggi i tuoi punti deboli
