Hello everybody, welcome back to another Comprehensible Input English vlog,
2
where you will be learning English by listening to my voice as I speak slow,
3
simple, and clear English.
4
Let's get started.
5
We've got a couple things that we have to get done today.
6
Firstly, I have a doctor's appointment that I have to go to in about one hour.
7
My doctor's appointment is at 3.30 and they tell you
8
that you're supposed to check in about 15 minutes before the doctor's appointment.
9
So I think they want me to be there and to check in at about 3.15.
10
Afterwards, we are going to go to my mom's house and we're all going to go and get dinner together.
11
You can tell that Allison has been sleeping for a long time because she's got major bedhead right now.
12
We call this bedhead when somebody's hair is super crazy because they've been laying down for a very long time.
13
And she definitely has very, very major bedhead, don't you?
14
She's still a little bit sleepy right now, so she's a little bit quiet.
15
because I think she just wants to go back to sleep.
16
All right, I have about maybe 10 minutes before I need to leave to go to my doctor's appointment,
17
but I noticed that I need to shave pretty badly.
18
I have a lot of facial hair that I need to shave off
19
because I really don't like having a lot of facial hair
20
so I try to shave it pretty regularly
21
so I have my razor right here you can see I got a pink razor
22
because I'm very manly
23
and I'm gonna use this razor to shave my face I don't really get a lot of facial facial hair.
24
I've just never really grown a lot of hair on my face.
25
So I don't usually use shaving cream because I just don't really feel like I need to use shaving cream.
26
I feel like that's more for people who have like bigger beards, but I don't really have much.
27
So instead I just take my razor and I usually wet my razor.
28
So I'll turn my faucet on and I'll just kind of wet it a little bit.
29
And I think this just makes it a little bit softer on my skin so it doesn't really hurt.
30
And then I'll just start shaving like this, although I'm probably not going to do it on camera because I'm worried that if I'm focusing on the camera,
31
I'm going to accidentally cut myself with the razor.
32
So I want to be very careful of that.
33
All right, we just arrived at the medical center.
34
I believe this is not technically a hospital, because a hospital requires, like, an emergency room, where you go if there's a huge emergency,
35
but this one doesn't have that.
36
So I think it's not considered a hospital, but we're actually in a little bit of a rush right now because my appointment is starting like right now.
37
All right.
38
I just finished up with my appointment and the doctor said that everything was good.
39
So that was good to hear.
40
The only thing he mentioned is that he said I'm a little bit overweight.
41
So I got to start exercising a little bit more.
42
He did say that.
43
Yeah, he said that I'm slightly over the range that they want me to be at, so I gotta stop eating, apparently.
44
Time to fast.
45
Yeah, I'm gonna have to fast or something and just not eat anything.
46
Which is a big problem because we're about to go eat pizza right now, so...
47
But I don't think you've eaten a lot today.
48
No, that's true.
49
I haven't eaten much today, so I'll probably be fine.
50
But I got to start exercising more, and I got to start eating less, apparently.
51
But overall, that was very quick.
52
We were kind of just in and out, and this medical center is, like, right next to our house.
53
So it's perfect for us.
54
It's nice, because it's not much of a drive.
55
And I know some people will drive so far, like 45 minutes, to just go to an appointment that it's just not that long.
56
Yeah, that's true.
57
And we go here really regularly because Allison needs to have checkups very often.
58
Just because when you have a baby, they want to make sure your baby is healthy very often.
59
You and I don't go as often to get checkups
60
but since we have a baby it's perfect that we have one of these places right next to us.
61
Go ahead and practice your English writing skills by answering this question in English in the comments below.
62
How often do you go to the doctor to have a regular checkup?
63
Let us know down below.
64
All right, so we just arrived at my parents' house.
65
Right now, my dad isn't here because he's out of town on a work trip.
66
So it's just my mom here, and then of course, me, Desiree, and Allison as well.
67
And we're just about to leave to go get some dinner
68
and we decided to go to a pizza place
69
because you really can't go wrong with pizza and it's a new place
70
so we're going to be trying it out for the first time
71
and I'm very excited because I'm super hungry right now so I'll see you over there.
72
Check it out.
73
Allison has been practicing standing up recently so right now she's standing up
74
and she needs to use her arm to kind of hold herself up as she's practicing, but she's getting pretty good at it.
75
Oh, now she's bouncing.
76
Okay, nice save.
77
The pizza place that we ate at was called Cali Pizzeria, which is named that because we are in the state of California.
78
Interestingly, there is a kebab shop in the same area with a very similar name and the same logo.
79
So I believe they have the same owner.
80
This place has these really colorful chairs that add to the overall atmosphere.
81
We got this pepperoni pizza that we added some jalapenos to, which I really like because I like spicy pizza.
82
The pizza was super cheesy.
83
As you can see, there was a very impressive of cheese pole, as people sometimes say.
84
The pizza had a pretty good flavor, but the crust was a little bit too thin for me personally.
85
After we finished eating, we decided to go to a favorite store of ours called Marshall's.
86
We wanted to look at some toys for Allison because she's been kind of outgrowing her current toys.
87
Since we're approaching the month of October, they had this really big and pretty cool selection of Halloween decorations.
88
My favorite decorations from this Halloween section were these really cool pillows.
89
They also had this very interesting crow-looking guy who was very stylishly dressed.
90
I also decided to take a look at their clothing, as Marshalls usually has really good deals on clothes.
91
And I tried on this red shirt in their fitting rooms.
92
We also spent some time looking through all of the baby clothes for Allison,
93
as Marshalls has a huge selection of baby clothes.
94
All right, we just got back and we picked up a few different things at the store.
95
The first thing we got is this little toy for Allison right here.
96
And it's pretty cool because she can press on the top of it right here and then it spins.
97
It's a carousel, right?
98
Yeah, yeah, it's a carousel because you can see
99
that there are some like little horses on it like they would have at a carousel.
100
and it kind of just spins around like that.
101
It rings, too.
102
She's still kind of figuring out how to use it, but she's really going to enjoy using that one.
103
And then you got some shoes as well, right?
104
I did, yeah.
105
They're like slippers.
106
These are Crocs.
107
They're suede.
108
Yeah, the Crocs are really popular, at least here in the United States.
109
They're, like, just really kind of trendy, um and those ones are also going to be pretty convenient for you i feel like
110
because you can just kind of slip them on
111
and off really easily yeah
112
and i feel like they would match with like you know
113
any outfit since they're just like beige they're not really like
114
i don't know they're just really comfy to go out definitely yeah um
115
and then i got this shirt as well so
116
that was basically all we got for that
117
but we're gonna just kind of relax for the rest of the day so i hope you guys enjoyed the video, learning English with me.
