11
Okay, today we're going to talk about coffee.
12
For some of you, this might be a really important topic.
13
That depends on how much you like this drink.
14
Let me first talk about my relationship with coffee.
15
I'm not an everyday coffee drinker and I don't need coffee to feel awake or productive.
16
In fact, sometimes caffeine can be hard for my body to handle.
17
If I drink too much of it,
18
I might feel anxious or just bad throughout the rest of the day.
19
So as you can see,
20
I don't need coffee in my life.
21
However, on the other hand,
22
I really like warm beverages.
23
It doesn't matter if it's coffee,
24
tea, hot chocolate, apple cider,
25
or any other hot drink.
26
I've always loved these types of drinks.
27
So even though I don't need coffee,
28
I actually do like drinking it.
29
I often order coffee when I eat breakfast at restaurants,
30
and I even drink it at home sometimes.
31
But I know many people who are dependent on coffee and who couldn't imagine starting their day without it.
32
Okay, let's talk about the differences between coffee in different parts of the world.
33
In the US, it's really common for people to drink a full cup of coffee.
34
They fill up their mug and add sweeteners like coffee creamer or sugar.
35
I remember that my parents always had different flavors of coffee creamer,
36
like vanilla or hazelnut, and they would add a lot of this until their coffee was sweet.
37
And often times they would refill their mug and drink a second cup of coffee in the morning.
38
However, I know that in many European countries, this isn't normal.
39
In some of these countries,
40
it's more common to drink espresso shots.
41
These shots are really small compared to the coffee that many Americans drink.
42
They're usually more concentrated too,
43
so the flavor is much stronger.
44
Honestly, I've only had one or two espresso shots in my whole life,
45
so I don't have much experience with this.
46
I prefer drinking full cups of coffee because I like to savor the drink.
47
This means that I like to drink it slowly and enjoy it for a longer period of time.
48
How about you?
49
Do you prefer drinking full cups of coffee or do you like small espresso shots?
50
Okay, let's talk a little bit about cafes.
51
In many countries, cafes are for more than just coffee.
52
Sure, there are many people that just order their coffee to go,
53
but a lot of people spend time at coffee shops to work,
54
hang out with friends, read, or just relax.
55
A lot of cafes have good wifi,
56
nice music, and comfortable seating.
57
Personally, I love working at cafes.
58
It's a nice change from working here at my house.
59
I feel a lot more inspired when I'm in a different environment and when I see other people around me.
60
Where I live, it's common for people to bring their laptop to the cafe and work while they're drinking their coffee.
61
And I think that coffee shops are also comfortable places to just relax and enjoy a nice drink.
62
Okay, that's all for today.
