Speaking of the world updates that we're tracking, the big one is from the Trump administration this morning.

They've paused immigrant visa applications worldwide as U.S consular offices undergo what officials describe as in-depth training to strengthen screening procedures.

Applicants with scheduled interviews have reportedly been informed that their appointments are being rescheduled, with new dates to be announced later.

The State Department says the initiative is aimed at ensuring officers can comprehensively assess applicants,

including whether they're likely to become dependent on US public assistance.

Now, the move is the latest in a series of measures by the Trump administration to tighten immigration

and visa rules and also increase scrutiny of those seeking to enter the United States.

So yet another pause to yet another exercise, which is also undertaken by several Indians here after here.

Sidhan Mishra joins us with an update on this.

Now, this has been immigration policy has been, you know, one of the biggest moves that the Trump administration has been seen making.

Now, it's seen a lot of hurdles in terms of how courts have repeatedly blockaded these moves.

But what do we make of this and more importantly, how does this impact Indians who had possibly, because they had to now return given the US policies,

return to their home country for appearing for these interviews and visa procedures.

All their plans stand cancelled with this.

Of course, since the inauguration of President Trump, there has been several such decisions taken by him by signing executive orders

and of course through other routes as well to make immigration stricter.

and of course this is one in the series and of course this is an immigration visa

cause not not exactly a freeze on h1b and f1

or a tourist visa conflating the two would be inaccurate

and needlessly alarm the indian diaspora audience many of whom are on non-immigrant status

but as you rightly pointed out this is in the same series

and of course there's going to be trouble for those who

have been trying for the u.s visa from a long time now we've been told

that their dates are going to get rescheduled and they'll be given another date for the visa appointments.

And nobody knows when that date is.

So for how long will their schedules stay impacted, the applicant's schedules stay impacted?
