Neil, today we're talking about cities.
10
We both live and work in London, which is a very big city.
11
It is.
12
It's a huge city.
13
Very busy and bustling.
14
Bustling means there's lots of activity, lots of things going on, busy.
15
Speaking of, what do you like about living in a big, bustling city?
16
Well, there are lots of good things about living in a big city.
17
It's convenient.
18
It's very convenient.
19
So there is lots of public transport, which is sometimes good.
20
And you can get things that you need quite easily.
21
That's very true.
22
Yeah.
23
Yeah, there's also a lot of things to do.
24
We are lucky in London to have lots of theatres where you can see plays
25
there's a really good music scene so you can watch
26
and listen to a lot of live music
27
if you have no plans on a day you can always find plans um spontaneous plans
28
so we are really lucky in that sense yeah and
29
if you like art there's all kinds of exhibitions and galleries and museums
30
Lots of good things, but there are obviously some bad things about living in a city, aren't there?
31
Yes.
32
Do you want to tell us some?
33
Yeah.
34
Well, it's very noisy and dirty and busy and expensive.
35
It's always more expensive in a big city, especially the capital city um
36
so you can do all of the things
37
that we just talked about yeah but you have to pay yeah
38
and things like eating out especially going for a drink is really expensive thing to do in a capital city
39
i feel like every time i leave the house i just spend loads of money
40
and that is quite frustrating
41
but you have to pay for good for good times
42
i guess yeah have you ever lived in another city apart from london yes
43
i have i used to live in barcelona
44
which is quite different to london because well it has a beach
45
and the sea on one side and on the other side it has mountains
46
so it's contained by nature and you can get to the nature quite quickly um
47
which is really nice what about you have you lived anywhere different yeah
48
i've lived in a few big cities uh a few capital cities actually um i've also lived in spain

and it's just amazing to look at so we've talked about cities we've been two, what about the future?
56
Are there any cities you really want to visit or maybe even live in?
57
Oh, that's an interesting question.
58
I've never been to Georgia or Armenia or that part of the world.
59
So I'm going to say I'd like to go to Tbilisi in Georgia.
60
That's a good answer.
61
I'd love to go there as well.
62
For me, I'm desperate to go to Latin America.
63
I really want to go to Rio de
64
Janeiro and at the time when the carnival is there, because that sounds really fun and I like to party.
65
Let's recap the vocabulary we heard during the conversation, starting with bustling, which means busy, with lots of people and activity.
66
We also heard convenient.
67
If something is convenient, it means it's very easy to do it.
