Hello and welcome back to this English learning video.
2
Today, you will practice English with me using the shadowing technique.
3
Remember, shadowing means, listen carefully, then repeat after me.
4
Copy my words.
5
Copy my voice.
6
Copy my feeling.
7
You become like my shadow.
8
That is why we call it shadowing.
9
This practice will help you speak more clearly.
10
understand English better, and feel confident when you talk to others.
11
And today, I will tell you a long story.
12
The story is called A Trip to the Mountains.
13
It will be full of people, places, conversations, and emotions.
14
Are you ready?
15
Let's begin!
16
My name is Daniel.
17
I am 29 years old.
18
I live in a busy city with my two friends, Lisa and Tom.
19
I love nature.
20
I love fresh air, green trees, and mountains.
21
I love the feeling of freedom when I walk in the forest.
22
One day, after work, I said to my friends, Let's go on a trip to the mountains this weekend.
23
Lisa looked excited.
24
She said, Yes, that sounds amazing.
25
Tom made a face.
26
He said, Okay, but I don't like hiking.
27
It's too hard.
28
I laughed.
29
I told him, Don't worry, Tom.
30
It will be fun.
31
Trust me.
32
So we made a plan.
33
We would leave on Saturday morning.
34
We would take the train.
35
We would hike to the top.
36
We would spend one night in a small cabin.
37
I felt excited.
38
It was our first adventure together outside the city.
39
That evening, we sat at the kitchen table with notebooks and phones.
40
Lisa asked, What should we bring?
41
I said, Water, food, jackets, and a camera.
42
Tom added, Snacks?
43
Don't forget snacks?
44
Lisa laughed.
45
Of course, Tom and his snacks.
46
We made a list.
47
We divided the jobs.
48
Lisa would bring fruit and tea.
49
Tom would bring snacks and a small speaker for music.
50
I would bring a map and some cooking supplies.
51
We were ready.
52
Or at least, we thought we were ready.
53
Saturday came.
54
The sky was blue.
55
The sun was shining.
56
I woke up early.
57
I packed my bag carefully.
58
I put in water, food, a map, and my camera.
59
I checked twice to make sure nothing was missing.
60
At 8 a .m., we met at the station.
61
The train was not very full.
62
I sat near the window.
63
Lisa sat beside me.
64
Tom sat across from us, eating chips.
65
Lisa said, Tom, it's only morning.
66
Why are you eating chips already?
67
Tom smiled.
68
Because chips make me happy.
69
I laughed.
70
At least save some for later.
71
The train started moving.
72
We saw tall buildings, then smaller houses, then green fields.
73
Slowly, the city disappeared.
74
Nature came closer.
75
Lisa pointed outside.
76
Look, cows in the field.
77
Tom joked.
78
Do you think they want to come hiking with us?
79
We laughed together.
80
After two hours, we reached the small mountain town.
81
The air was cool.
82
The streets were quiet.
83
We walked to a little shop and bought more water.
84
The shopkeeper smiled.
85
Going hiking?
86
Lisa said, Yes, to the mountains.
87
The shopkeeper said, Be careful.
88
The path is beautiful, but long.
89
We nodded.
90
Are you ready?
91
I asked.
92
Yes.
93
Lisa shouted.
94
Tom sighed, but he smiled.
95
We started walking.
96
The path was narrow.
97
There were trees on both sides.
98
Birds were singing.
99
The air smelled fresh, like pine and flowers.
100
We walked slowly, step by step.
101
Tom complained after 30 minutes.
102
I'm tired, he said.
103
Lisa laughed.
104
Come on, Tom.
105
You can do it.
106
I gave him some water.
107
We kept going.
108
We saw butterflies flying across the path.
109
We saw a small river running between rocks.
110
We crossed a wooden bridge.
111
Lisa said, This is like a movie scene.
112
I nodded.
113
Yes, but this is real.
114
We are here.
115
Then the path became steep.
116
It was harder to walk.
117
My legs hurt.
118
Tom was breathing heavily.
119
Lisa encouraged us.
120
Just a little more.
121
Finally, after two hours, we reached a viewpoint.
122
We looked down.
123
The town looked so small.
124
The sky was wide.
125
The wind was fresh.
126
Lisa said, Wow, this is beautiful.
127
Tom smiled.
128
Okay, maybe hiking is not so bad.
129
We laughed together.
130
We sat on a rock.
131
We ate some fruit and chips.
132
We drank water.
133
We took photos.
134
For a moment, everything was quiet.
135
No cars.
136
No phones just the sound of wind and birds.
137
We continued walking.
138
At last, we reached the cabin.
139
It was small but cozy.
140
There was a fireplace.
141
There were wooden chairs.
142
There were two beds and a big window.
143
Tom said, Only two beds?
144
What about me?
145
I laughed.
146
We'll share, or someone can sleep on the floor.
147
Lisa smiled.
148
We can take turns.
149
Don't worry.
150
We cooked noodles on a small stove.
151
The smell was wonderful.
152
We drank tea.
153
We talked and laughed.
154
Lisa asked, What's your dream trip, Tom?
155
Tom?
156
Tom answered, Somewhere with no walking, maybe the beach.
157
We laughed.
158
I said, But the mountain is special.
159
Don't you feel it?
160
Tom looked outside and nodded.
161
Yes, I feel it.
162
Outside, the sun went down.
163
The sky turned orange, then red, then dark blue.
164
stars came out.
165
The mountain was quiet.
166
We felt peaceful.
167
At night, the wind blew.
168
The trees made soft sounds.
169
Lisa fell asleep first.
170
Tom snored loudly.
171
I looked at the stars through the window.
172
I thought to myself, life is not just about work and the city.
173
Life is also about moments like this.
174
I close my eyes.
175
In the middle of the night, I heard a noise.
176
It was outside.
177
I opened my eyes.
178
I listened carefully.
179
Someone was at the door.
180
I sat up.
181
I felt nervous.
182
Who was it?
183
I woke up Tom.
184
Tom, listen.
185
Do you hear that?
186
He rubbed his eyes.
187
Yes, I hear it.
188
Who is outside?
189
Lisa also woke up.
190
We stood together near the door.
191
I asked, Who's there?
192
No answer.
193
I slowly opened the door.
194
And then we saw a dog.
195
A small brown dog.
196
It wagged its tail.
197
It looked hungry.
198
Lisa said, Oh, poor thing.
199
She gave it some food.
200
The dog ate happily.
201
We laughed.
202
The dog stayed with us that night.
203
We called him Lucky.
204
Tom said, Lucky is better than a bear.
205
Lisa said, Lucky is our new friend.
206
I said, Yes, he is part of our trip now.
207
The next morning, the sun rose.
208
The mountains were golden.
209
We packed our bags.
210
Lucky followed us.
211
We walked down slowly.
212
It was easier going down.
213
We saw more birds.
214
We heard the river again.
215
On the way, we met an old man.
216
He carried a stick.
217
He said, Good morning.
218
Did you sleep in the cabin?
219
I answered, Yes, it was wonderful.
220
The man smiled.
221
I built that cabin when I was young, Lisa said.
222
It's beautiful.
223
Thank you.
224
The man nodded.
225
Take care on your way down.
226
Finally.
227
We reached the town.
228
We took the train back.
229
Lucky stayed in the town.
230
We said goodbye.
231
Lisa said, That was the best trip ever.
232
Tom smiled.
233
Yes, I agree.
234
I want to come again.
235
I felt happy.
236
I learned something.
