Today we're going to be in John chapter 16.

I'm going to read verses 23 through 24.

Very interesting moment.

Jesus says, In that day you will ask nothing of me.

Truly, truly, I say to you,

whatever you ask of the Father in my name,

he will give it to you.

Until now, you have asked nothing in my name.

Ask and you will receive that your joy may be full.

I think this moment and this scripture and these comments by Jesus are super interesting and here is why.

Jesus knows that after his resurrection that the way he's going to relate to his disciples is going to change.

No longer are they going to have the same type of ongoing physical access to Jesus.

So he's preparing them for that change.

Soon they're going to see the totality of his mission.

he's going to go to the Father.

He's going to send them the Holy Spirit.

They're going to understand their sorrow.

and then because of all this how they're going to speak with Jesus is gonna change

because of the coming events the spirits gonna come

and live in them and then they will ask the spirit about things

and for things in Jesus's name in his name now what

Jesus is doing here is inaugurating for these men a new era one that we presently live in and get to enjoy.

It's the freedom to bring all things directly to the Trinitarian God of the universe.

I mean, we get the privilege of speaking to the Father through the Spirit within us and in the name of Jesus.

And this is our joy.

So do that today.

I mean, And seriously, embrace the profound privilege of speaking directly to the God of the universe.

And then pray to him today with renewed passion and understanding.

Don't just throw some request at the Father today.

He's not some distant, impersonal spirit.

He's a God who has come close through Jesus by a spirit

that indwells us and gives us access to the Father of all creation.
