1
Hi, this is Coffee Minute with Pooine.
2
Am I someone who likes to drink coffee?
3
Usually no. Usually I try to avoid as much caffeine as possible.
4
However, whenever I have a work day that starts early in the morning, like 5am, 6am, I usually have a glass of Americano in the morning.
5
So that's a must-have for me or other days that I feel sleepy, I'll try to have black coffee as much as possible to get me throughout the day.
6
However, depending on my mood sometimes, I also like to go to coffee shops and get coffees.
7
My usual orders would probably be something like a flat white or a dirty or something along those lines.
8
How would I describe my life right now in three words?
9
First of all, I would say fun.
10
Second of all, I would say very tiring.
11
And third of all, I would say bittersweet.
12
It's very eye-opening.
13
The overall experience of coming to Paris Fashion Week is very eye-opening for me.
14
I have to admit that before coming here, I still don't really...
15
Before coming to Paris Fashion Week, I don't have a good grasp on what exactly fashion is.
16
And I have to admit right now that after watching it, although my understanding of it has increased, I still don't have a firm grasp on it.
17
So it's very eye-opening for me to see the other industries, the other parts of fashion, and it's a whole nother space that I've never been in,
18
I've never seen, and I've only started to explore.
19
What am I really into right now?
20
I would say I'm into my work.
21
I'm a workaholic.
22
I have to admit that there are many times when I
23
and I finish work at like 10, 11 p.m
24
and I arrive home I take a shower I do my daily routine
25
and I sit in bed
26
and I still wonder huh I feel like I'm not productive enough right now by sitting in bed
27
or like watching YouTube or scrolling through Instagram or TikTok
28
or whatever so I would say I'm really into my work right now
29
and I don't really have anything much going for me apart from this
30
because the other one of the things that one of the other things
31
that I'm really into is spending time with friends
32
and family with my schedule
33
and with everything it's kind of impossible to do it at the same time
34
so how do I find my work-life balance right now I would say there's not really a balance
35
but I try to fit whatever I can wherever and whenever I I can.
36
So I try to fit my friends, I try to fit my family, try to fit my health,
37
try to fit my hobbies into around my work schedule so that everything evens out and I can still live a mental,
38
mentally healthy life I would say.
39
What are my life goals right now?
40
Live.
41
Be in the present, try to experience everything as much as possible because I know personally from experience that Nothing lasts forever.
42
If I don't cherish it now, it's not going to be with me for long.
43
So I'm going to try to experience everything as much as I can before I don't have the chance to.
44
Thank you.
45
Cheers.
46
Thank you.

  • Context Understanding: Before shadowing, watch the video without attempting to speak. This helps you understand the context, allowing for more effective practice as you shadow speak.
  • Chunking: Break down the transcript into manageable parts. Shadow each section repeatedly before moving on to the next. This will help you maintain comprehension while improving fluency.
  • Record Yourself: After practicing, record your shadowing sessions and compare them to the original. Note the differences in tone and pace, and adjust your practice accordingly.
  • Engage with Content: After completing shadowing, engage with the content by discussing the video with a friend or writing down your thoughts. This not only reinforces what you’ve learned but also prepares you for speaking in real-life situations.

By incorporating these practices into your routine, you will significantly improve your English speaking abilities and confidence. Enjoy your journey of learning English with YouTube as a valuable resource!

What is the Shadowing Technique?

Shadowing is a science-backed language learning technique originally developed for professional interpreter training and popularized by polyglot Dr. Alexander Arguelles. The method is simple but powerful: you listen to native English audio and immediately repeat it out loud — like a shadow following the speaker with just a 1–2 second delay. Unlike passive listening or grammar drills, shadowing forces your brain and mouth muscles to simultaneously process and reproduce real speech patterns. Research shows it significantly improves pronunciation accuracy, intonation, rhythm, connected speech, listening comprehension, and speaking fluency — making it one of the most effective methods for IELTS Speaking preparation and real-world English communication.
