1
All right, we're back.
2
Last week, we were doing a State of the Podcast and it got sidetracked by Sona and the Brazilian butt lift, which is not a new Indiana Jones movie, but it is a children's story.
3
It's a children's book coming out soon.
4
And Sona and the Brazilian butt lift.
5
Mommy, that's my favorite book.
6
This is part two where we do intend to- So Adam, we interrupted you because you were listing our incredible accolades and successes- We had a ton of accolades.
7
And I got embarrassed and we got off track.
8
Lots of awards, great guests.
9
And I was talking about how we've started doing full- Lots of awards.
10
Major awards.
11
We started doing a full-length video in May and numbers are great.
12
And again, the concern was, is it incremental audience or are we just taking people away from the podcasting?
13
Now, the interesting thing is on the history of the podcast delivery has been RSS.
14
You know what that is, Conor.
15
No, I don't.
16
When people have listened to podcasts in the past when you use the podcast app, you're getting an RSS feed delivering you the podcast and you have to subscribe to that, right?
17
So subscribers to the podcast will get the podcast every week.
18
And we have built up a huge audience in podcasting over the past seven years on the podcast app.
19
People have subscribed.
20
The interesting thing about YouTube is we have a very large YouTube channel, over 9 million subscribers on YouTube.
21
When we put out- Unrelated to the podcast.
22
Completely unrelated.
23
That's Conan content from before you chimps.
24
That's very true.
25
That was built almost, that was built on TBS content and lots of- One man's dream.
26
We're keeping them subscribed.
27
But the interesting thing about YouTube is with the, when we put a podcast video on that channel that has 9 million subscribers,
28
about half of the views to our podcast video come from non-subscribers.
29
Meaning that YouTube has- Algorithmically suckered those bitches in- Algorithmically is exactly the word.
30
YouTube is serving our content to people who didn't subscribe.
31
Who actively dislike me.
32
I mean, I doubt it.
33
I think YouTube thinks that they will, that they're gonna like this content.
34
And so it's sharing the content more and more, which is actually awesome because it's growing out.
35
The old legacy podcast is a very deliberate act.
36
You know, you had to subscribe, then you get your podcast.
37
This is like, we're growing our audience on YouTube
38
because all these people who didn't already subscribe are getting fed the content and watching the content.
39
So we're an invasive weed.
40
Best description I've ever heard of this podcast.
41
Is Conan gonna be like a YouTube personality though?
42
Should he be like, hey, smash that like button.
43
I mean, yes, we probably, the crazy thing is, and we talked about this a little bit on the last time, but like podcast, because podcasts are becoming so,
44
are distributed so much on YouTube, as a billion people a month are watching podcasts on YouTube, which is a crazy number.
45
The sort of podcast world and the YouTuber world, Sona, that you're talking about, they're kind of merging.
46
Like podcasters and YouTubers are all part of this larger creator economy now.
47
And you're there.
48
It's hilarious that no one has sat me down, including you and talked to me about any of this.
49
I'm sorry.
50
This is not what this is?
51
That's what this is for.
52
This is what this is.
53
I know, I know.
54
I'm, I'm.
55
We can't sit you down unless there's a microphone in front of you, so.
56
Or a camera, turns out.
57
That's incredible.
58
You should become more of like a YouTuber, like do some pranks and like.
59
Yeah.
60
Yeah.
61
Unbox stuff.
62
I'm gonna start unboxing stuff.
63
Yeah.
64
Here, drink this urine.
65
Mm, yum, yum, yum, yum.
66
Mm.
67
Yeah, we're gonna start, I don't even know enough about YouTube stuff.
68
I don't either.
69
Well, I will say, Conan, sorry to interrupt you, but the other, the thing that you've joked about a bunch now, which is becoming more and more true,
70
is that you're back to hosting a late night show
71
because not only is YouTube the number one destination for people to listen to podcasts, it's also the number one streaming platform now.
72
And the number one thing that people are watching on TV in their living rooms.
73
So you have essentially just gone back and created another talk show.
74
I make this show repeatedly, but it's so funny to me that I deliberately left late night after 28 years.
75
I loved it.
76
I enjoyed every second.
77
I said, that's good.
78
I'm gonna go now.
79
I'm gonna do my little podcast.
80
I'm gonna do my little travel show for HBO Max.
81
I hope they always call it HBO Max and don't start messing with the name.
82
And then everything, you know, that was it.
83
And I'll work on my body at the request of everyone.
84
And then this.
85
Oh, my body.
86
What?
87
Well, people said, you've got to fix that body.
88
That was the big thing I heard.
89
I just don't like the way you worded it.
90
It's weird.
91
Body.
92
Anyway, now we're doing this podcast and it keeps growing.
93
And people started to say things like, we should do some in front of an audience.
94
And if there's an audience, we should have Jimmy Vino there and other people in the band.
95
It'd be really funny if you came out first and warmed up the crowd.
96
Now you should do a monologue and then call out the other guys and do the podcast.
97
Hey, it'd be really good if we put this up on YouTube.
98
And now people are telling me, I love your show.
99
And I'm like, it's not a show!
100
It's a little podcast.
101
But it doesn't matter to me.
102
It's fun.
103
It's organic.
104
We're having a blast.
105
I'm not asking.
106
I'm telling you.
107
It's really enjoyable.
108
And all joking aside, you're not going to like this, but we have a secret sauce here with you guys.
109
It's really, it's a really nice environment.
110
I never know what's going to happen.
111
Uh, I'd be miserable if I was here alone and, uh, you guys are really funny and this is lovely.
112
I'm having a really good time.
113
I'll drink some here into that.
114
Yeah.
115
Yeah.
116
That's very nice of you to say.
117
Thank you.
118
It's all led by you, boss.
119
There you go.
120
Oh man
121
You're ruined it You shouldn't have handed it back to me I know
122
but you were being sincere So I was sincere back to you I was
123
so sincere to get you to hand it back to me Yes I lead the way
124
and it would never happen without me Well that's it for
125

126

127
His leadership His common sense Of course Eduardo always there Working the knobs Guiding us Thank you.

130

131
It's a fun group.
132
It's a fun group.
133
It's a highlight of my day, every day.
134
Did you hear anything about the advertisers, Mad, that we talk still a lot about a lot of jizz and stuff?
135
They don't mind.
136
They don't mind me.
137
No, they don't mind me.
138
Check us out.
139
Now we're getting jizz only.
140
I was gonna say, your sponsorship is jizz monthly, so it's appropriate.
141
The magazine.
142
The Jizzinator.
143
If you shot some jizz and you don't know where it is, use the Jizzinator.
144
We won the Jizzy for best podcast.
145
We won the Jizzy.
146
Wow.
147
And you beat Jizz Taylor.
148
Yeah.
149
Yeah.
150
And we've been invited to New Orleans Jizz Fest.
151
And trust me, you gotta wear a raincoat to that thing.
152
Stand of the podcast, stronger than ever.
