It was a full vessel charter but we were able to consolidate and save money for our client, save time for their project, and increase production and construction.

When planning discharge here in the Port of New Orleans, It's critical that we schedule the barges in coordination for each piece of cargo.

Each barge has been outfitted with the grillage for that individual piece.

This becomes a major portion of scheduling because any delays here create additional costs.

Our teams have worked around the clock to ensure that everybody is on time, the barges are positioned and ready to go, and all the equipment needed for this handling.

The first discharge were pipe racks, 40 meters in length, weighing in at over 40 metric tons.

So when it comes to lifting these pipe rack modules, it takes a lot of gear.

With this all combined, we have over 120 metric tons of cargo and gear hooked to the crane.

These columns spanning over 70 meters weighed in at over 300 metric tons.

They were lifted by tandem lift and placed on a 260 -foot barge, strategically placing it on stands as the ballasted in order to bring it to the correct draft,

preparing it for roll -off upon delivery to its next destination.

So we have to ensure that The center of gravity is the gear that's used, and the weight of the cargo itself per crane is achieved within the capacity, so we have no issues,

When transporting a move like this, it can present many challenges.

The challenges we face are one of scheduling, We need the cargo to reach the vessel as it arrives at the port, with no delays so we don't have any additional cost.

What that entails is when certain items can't go over the road, we've got to move it by bar.

The cargo arriving on the barge to the ship It is critical that it's positioned correctly on the barge, that we meet the capacity of the cranes from the ship.

The challenges we face sometimes could be the water, the channel width, and the ability to either turn the ship or the barge,

so that we have the capacity within the crane to achieve the transload from barge to the vessel.
