Luyện nói tiếng Anh bằng Shadowing qua video: Microsoft Fabric Apps Explained (The SaaS Killer?)

Đang tạo bài học...
1
Can fabric apps replace SaaS tools?
2
Now in this video we're going to build a desk booking app totally from scratch.
3
We go from idea to a fully up and running app that's secure, has a database behind it and can be scaled within the company.
4
Now let's see how long it takes me.
5
From FabCon Barcelona it's very clear that Microsoft is doubling down on fabric apps.
6
Now the whole development experience will be nicely integrated inside of Power BI Desktop
7
so that every Power BI developer is going to play around with it.
8
Plus pro and premium users they will also be able to create
9
and deploy these apps
10
and get up to a one gigabyte database inside of fabric for each app now that's super exciting and
11
that made me wonder will we soon be in a situation
12
where each company is just developing their own applications instead of
13
having tons of different SaaS subscriptions for different pricing tools hr tools etc now
14
let's put it to the test all right now we're going
15
to do it as follows first we're going to set up the front end
16
so how it's going to look like the functionalities that we need
17
and once we have that then we set up the back -end using the Raven SDK CLI
18
which basically allows us to in an agentic way set up
19
the databases the authentication all the back -end plumbing all right now let's get to action
20
so I googled a few desk booking apps
21
and I found for example sieti .com then there's another one
22
that's called desk booking app then another one that's called flexi pass
23
so I'm just going to say to either Claude or ChatGPT, create me an app just like these ones.
24
Now here's the prompt, create an HTML mock -up of an office desk booking app like ciat .co or desk booking app.
25
All right, now I'm doing this in ChatGPT.
26
Of course, you can also do this in Claude, Gemini, whatever you prefer.
27
However, I chose quite a good model.
28
So here we have GPT6 Astra, put the effort on high because I want it to be a high quality app.
29
All right, now let's see what it comes up with now maybe one
30
more detail i set over here approval to approve for me instead of ask for approval
31
so that i can just go for coffee relax
32
while it's building it for me oh now look at this we are now five minutes
33
and 52 seconds later boom and i already have an app
34
and it says it includes interactive floor plan desk filters teammate locations
35
and booking cancellation flows now let's see
36
if this works now i'm just going to click around
37
and here i can choose a day for
38
which I want to book a desk
39
and over here you see we have different floors we have location
40
and over here we have the floor plan
41
and everything that's in green that's available everything that's gray I
42
cannot book anymore that's already reserved shows me by who
43
and here on the right hand side there we see more information about the selected task
44
and we have some filters over here that's pretty cool
45
so i can now just click on it book this desk for a certain time period of the day
46
and let's see what happens all right now of course this
47
just happens in the browser nothing is written to a database
48
just yet now you're on the left hand side you see
49
oh there's my booking popping up i can also cancel it that's working
50
and over here we have an overview of all the teammates
51
now this is pretty good however i think it would be
52
nice for example to show you here real images real photos of people also over here in the tooltip
53
when i hover over it then also the look
54
and feel is maybe not on brand just yet
55
because i didn't tell anything about our brand okay
56
so i'm going to play around with this just a little bit going back
57
and forth until we have a version that i'm happy with
58
so that we take that version
59
and then start building the back end all right now here
60
we are i made it look a little bit more on
61
my brand for the company data training io now here we can now also choose different locations
62
so that's working nicely you see the floor plan nicely changing now the look
63
and feel has been updated just a little bit
64
but all the main functionalities are still there yeah i can also switch between a map
65
and a list i added some pictures just a little bit prettier
66
and over here when we go to my bookings now i have no booking yet
67
so let me just go back now the meeting room functionality
68
that was not working yet so i fixed that along the way
69
and over here also
70
when i now make a booking for where it is already
71
something books now let's let's give this a try let's see
72
you see nicely says okay time is already reserved not possible all right
73
so let's maybe go for a standing desk in a quiet
74
zone ah this is the only one available i choose my time period all right book this desk boom okay
75
and it goes to my bookings now it also pays attention to
76
if I already have something booked during
77
that time you see you have already a booking at this time
78
so that's pretty amazing now you're probably wondering how long did
79
it actually take to get to this result well I just went back
80
and forth a little bit for half an hour and
81
so over here I give it our design system I could also just have pointed it to our website
82
that would also have been enough
83
but I just wanted it to be a bit more precise
84
and a little bit further I also asked it to generate
85
those images for people to make it a little bit more realistic for
86
demo purposes and that's basically it that's it
87
and then a few questions about the functionalities now then i
88
asked it how long did it really take you most of
89
the time it was actually taken for generating these images
90
but it took half an hour
91
and you see over here how many tokens it used the real question is how much did it cost
92
and it cost about 15 dollars now i think that's pretty cheap to get to a fully well front end
93
that actually is pretty close to what i want it to be
94
and what most sas products look like
95
and here it's fully customizable you can make it exactly like
96
you want now think about a few years ago where companies
97
were developing their own internal products it would take months
98
or maybe even years a lot of meetings going back and forth then prototypes, then the actual building,
99
but now within half an hour I have an app at least the front end of the app
100
that is pretty nice with the functionalities that I'm looking for.
101
So really impressive and that's what makes people also super excited to see this how quickly they can generate something like this.
102
However it's not really working yet so we need that backend, we need it secure and we need to have it scalable and that's exactly the gap that Fabric Apps is filling.
103
Okay so now let's take what we have
104
which is just an html file and build the backend all right
105
and but before we do that we also have to create a workspace
106
so i'm gonna log into power bi
107
and inside of power bi we're going to create a new workspace i'm going to call this one desk booking
108
app for youtube all right now then we can choose over
109
here our fabric capacity you can also work the trial
110
that should also be fine
111
and click on apply now soon hopefully it will also be possible with pro
112
and premium we will see this very soon hopefully all right
113
so the app is there now we just have to create this fabric app
114
so new item for me it's already under reasons otherwise i
115
just look for app also notice it's still in preview
116
so important to know it's probably not perfect just yet however
117
it's super exciting to play around with now give it a
118
nice name this is then our desk booking app that's going to live in this workspace okay
119
and then click on create all right there it is it
120
is already deployed now here on the left hand side we
121
have our menu where we will later be able to explore
122
database the functions documentation we can put right next to it
123
and of course we can track the usage metrics okay now how can we build the app well for
124
that i'm going to use visual studio code
125
but you can use any coding agent
126
that you like okay now i'm going to do it from visual studio code let's open it up
127
if you don't have it yet you can just go to code .visualstudio .com
128
and download it from here now if this is the first time
129
that you're using visual studio code then just go here on
130
the left hand side to extensions look for the coding agents
131
that you usually use for example cloud code
132
or codex copilot whatever you want
133
and then here on the right hand side there we can
134
have our chat sessions now then here in the top left
135
corner there we have our explorer now from here we want to connect to a folder
136
so i'm just gonna go to my desktop now here i have my youtube folder
137
and i already have an empty folder for my desk booking app now in
138
that project folder we can then put our html file now let's connect to it
139
so open folder
140
and there you go now by default it will be in
141
restricted mode now we have to click on manage say
142
that we can trust it all right meaning that we can read later
143
and write from it with our agents okay
144
so now let's give this a try i'm going to go to cloud code
145
or codex if you prefer all right so i'm gonna go for cloud code
146
and then over here you can choose the model now i'm
147
gonna go for well the default is open 5 .5 at
148
the moment okay that's that's fine fable 5 .1 is a bit of overkill is not necessary
149
and over here the mode i'm gonna put it to auto
150
so that i can do other things on the side
151
and just keeps on running as far as possible all right
152
so what do we have to put in here well let's go back to our fabric workspace
153
because here to get started it basically gives me all of
154
the prompts now we can do this one by one however i'm feeling a little bit lazy today
155
so i'm just going to copy the prompt go back to visual studio code
156
and put it in here all right
157
so now it's going to create for us the whole directory structure all of the files
158
that are necessary the scaffold of our app all right now
159
that will happen all automatically and it will set up a local environment in
160
which the app runs before it then gets deployed into fabric
161
okay now let's put this to the test let's click on run all right now there it goes
162
and while it's building this
163
let's do something else
164
and once it's done i will get back all right now
165
it seems to be done i was doing other stuff in the meantime
166
and let's now see
167
if it created the whole back end for our application all
168
right now here we have the whole chat log of all of the things
169
that was doing now let's scroll over it quickly now there were just a few questions
170
that i had to answer for example is it okay
171
if it uses this fabric capacity to publish it too later i said yeah
172
that is fine at some point it was also done setting up the local environment
173
so that's over here and then it just kept on going going going
174
and then after an hour or so it had the whole application up
175
and running locally and
176
that was the time for me to review it i said continue deploy it set it up inside of fabric
177
and it just continued here i had to say put all
178
of the demo data inside of the database all right now
179
i asked it how long did it actually take you to set everything up now here it says two hours
180
and 45 minutes but there was also a lot of waiting time in between
181
so the actual working time was let's say about an hour
182
okay with a cost of eight dollars all right now that's that's not not
183
so much added up to the 15 from before
184
and for about 20 bucks you have a whole up
185
and running app well if it's working let's check
186
that now let's go back to our app workspace
187
because there we do not only see an app there's now also an sql database
188
and an endpoint all right so of course
189
if you we first want to see the app
190
and there it is there's our fabric application now of course with a nice light
191
and dark mode toggle beautiful all right
192
and it looks exactly how we designed it before so that's good all right but of course the interesting part is
193
when we now book a desk where does
194
that get saved now it should go to
195
that sql database now let's see
196
if this is true i'm gonna book a desk for let's
197
say tomorrow wednesday let's see what is still free i want to have a standing desk with a monitor not
198
that many options uh let's go over here for b5 i
199
want it for maybe just the morning okay book this desk
200
all right now this spot is saved okay keep exploring no
201
my bookings there you go let's maybe also book the meeting room right
202
so over here there's a meeting room and
203
that one i want to have let's say somewhere in afternoon okay now this one is already reserved
204
so let's go for three o 'clock until five o 'clock
205
book the meeting room perfect all right now let's go to
206
my bookings both show up that's good now let's go to the database so
207
if i click here on manage app you get this view
208
from before now here we also have the live url we have the database here inside of
209
that we see three tables with desk bookings room bookings
210
and users now let's open it up well from here you see all of the columns
211
but we cannot see the data for
212
that we have to go back to our workspace click here
213
on the sql database now it warns you okay this is a child item of fabric apps then watch out
214
if you make changes right so
215
that you don't break stuff then here we have the tables
216
and let's open the task bookings now that is a lot of bookings
217
because well i also asked it to put in some demo data otherwise would not be
218
that interesting to look at however
219
if we would now sort this from z to a
220
and i also put in demo bookings until the 1st of november
221
so let's just search for my name probably the smarter way
222
to go anyways all right there you go there we have
223
a booking for the 7th of october tomorrow today it's the 6th okay good perfect
224
so this is working but i also had a room booking
225
so i'm gonna go here to
226
that other table all right let's also look for my name
227
there you go yep also in there all right now that's pretty amazing
228
so it took me let's say three hours to get to a fully up
229
and running app that's deployed inside of fabric now fabric takes
230
care of the authentication the hosting of all of the files
231
in this way it's also scalable secure however there's still probably many questions okay
232
so yeah this is the development cost however how much does it really costs
233
if you have 100 people using that right
234
so that's a big one also
235
when something is not working well we are relying here on vibe coding
236
so how to fix certain things but these are all topics
237
that we will dive into a little bit deeper into the next videos
238
so you see it's developing quickly it's super exciting
239
and within no time you can have an application up
240
and running so the big question is will this replace us in let's say a year or
241
so now let me know in the comment section below now
242
of course this is still in preview however it's developing quickly
243
and it's becoming more and more accessible so definitely check it out
244
if you want to see me build another app watch this video over here
245
and subscribe because more fabric app videos will be released soon now thank you for watching
246
and see you in the next video
