hello guys and welcome back to my channel we are currently in rome

and it's a dream come true to be here we are

so happy it's currently 10 o'clock and we are heading out

and the plan for the beginning of the day is to do a bit of sightseeing before we get breakfast.

So we booked our hotel through booking.com and we just thought

that it was a random hotel not located in the city center

or anything but we were surprised when we arrived

because the traffic here is insane and there's like restaurant on every single corner here.

Today it's supposed to be 34 degrees and I don't think we are prepared for this type of heat.

Maybe we should do a little outfit check before we head out.

So these are our outfits.

I'm wearing Birkenstocks with some white socks.

Trying that for the first time.

I literally spent like 40 minutes trying to pick my outfit.

It's a struggle now because we've been rotating through all of our outfits like again and again again and again.

I'm gonna show you our hotel room.

I recorded this clip yesterday when we arrived

and we were a little bit surprised because the room is

so big and spacious and very clean and very nice

because it was pretty cheap so I guess we were very lucky with this one.

We were trying to find some interesting places on the way to the breakfast place

and we found this castle called Castel Sant Angelo.

It's not as busy as the other landmarks so it's definitely a must visit when you're here in Rome.

We get this amazing view over the whole city,

for example the Saint Peter's Basilica in the Vatican City.

It's just the view is breathtaking.

It's been a very good start of the day but now it's time for some hydration, some food.

So we are gonna go to the coffee spot that Helgi found.

What is it called?

Barnum Roma and it's one of the places that you guys recommend it.

You guys always share the best spots and we are so grateful to get all of these tips and tricks.

Honestly it's made our trips like 10 times better so...

we just bought these sunglasses i forgot mine at home

and these are actually for helki

but today i will be using them since i didn't bring ones

but barnum roma the breakfast spot that we went to

was so nice it's definitely a recommendation to you guys

if you are in rome the staff was

so friendly our waitress was from norway

and i actually spotted it myself i heard her say something

and i was like oh my god she is probably from like scandinavia

and i was right overall a very nice breakfast place or lunch whatever

We were walking down this random street and all of these people were selling like jewelry.

They had like these jewelry stands and usually it's all of the same stuff over

and over it's like I think it's mass-produced

but then we found like a very special stand

and the guy was making the jewelry himself and I found this one

and I immediately fell in love I think it's so cool

and he made it on the spot it was

so cool to see it

and I ended up buying two pieces one for my best friend i think this is definitely something

that she would love so we are going to be matching

we are so fascinated by the city the streets are so alive and of course because of its rich history

it's so cool to be able to visit these iconic ancient landmarks

and now we are off to the legendary trevi fountain

we walked past this place that we had seen on tick tock it's a place

that serves only takeaway drinks and it's only five euros they have after all spritz

and other cocktails so I think we're gonna cool down a bit and have a dream.

We are on a vintage store hunt.

I got a message on Instagram that I should be able to find some cool vintage stores in a neighborhood called Monty.

So we are currently strolling the streets here and are on a hunt for a cool vintage store.

I found this really cool shirt that I wanted to try out.

It's a bit different than I usually buy, but it looks cool.

I also have a few things that I want to try on.

I think these look pretty cool.

They are kind of like jorts.

So let's try it on.

We are

at the Colosseum

and it's truly magical to see it in real life it

feels unreal we unfortunately didn't manage to get tickets to get inside

because you guys know

that our trip was quite spontaneous to go on this interrail

it's like fully booked until like august to go to the coliseum

so i don't think we would have been able to get tickets

so we don't want to be sad about it

but we can admire the beauty from the outside

and yeah it's amazing this day has been really successful we've been able to see

so many things and explore the city really well i think

but we're getting kind of tired and hungry

so i think it's time for dinner we're going to a roman restaurant called trattoria the anso al 29

and we're hoping that we can order like cassio pepe

or carbonara because we're really craving some pasta spaghetti or something like

that it takes about 25 minutes to walk over there

and it's located in the Trastavere neighborhood which is supposed to be really nice

and we're going to explore that more tomorrow so very excited about that

We were a bit shocked when we arrived at the restaurant

because the line was insane i've never seen a line this long for like a table at a restaurant

so yeah we're not gonna wait for like two hours to

get a table there i think you can get decent pasta everywhere it's gonna be fine we will find something nice

It's a new day in Rome

and today we are going to explore the Vatican City

and then later we are going to go to the neighborhood Trastevere

and probably something more very exciting but we are gonna start our day by having a panini.

We found a sandwich shop close to our hotel.

So yeah, we're gonna head out and grab some paninis.

The paninis were very tasty and it was a great way to start the day.

But however, we took a very bad decision and bought this can of San Pellegrino.

We thought it would be like a bitter lemonade or something,

but it tastes like a bad medicine.

We have arrived in the Vatican City.

We are currently waiting in line to get into the St. Peter's Basilica.

There's free admission and the line is pretty long

but it goes by pretty quickly so I think it's only going to be like 20 minutes or something.

We didn't expect it to be this magnificent.

Honestly, it was so beautiful.

It doesn't look so big from the outside,

but when you get inside, it's just huge.

We were talking about that this was the biggest church that we've been to,

and then we figured out it is the biggest church in the world,

It was so amazing to be able to see the masterpieces inside the church.

So yeah, St. Peter's Basilica is definitely a must visit if you're here in Rome.

So we are gonna have a walk and we were thinking about having some tiramisu.

We got recommended a place called Two Sizes.

And apparently it's supposed to be the best tiramisu in Rome.

But we decided to take a little detour and visit the Gianiculum Hill

Which is like a scenic spot where you get a panoramic view over Rome

And it is so beautiful But it was a very steep hill to get here

And it's like 34 degrees So we are sweating very much

So we have been strolling the streets here in Trastevere and it's such a cute neighborhood filled with restaurants,

cafes, bars, and we even found a couple of vintage stores that were really nice.

But I honestly think that the heat is kind of getting to us.

We are just a little bit tired and exhausted.

We've also been walking around so much.

By the way, we haven't really been taking any like public transport.

so we are just gonna walk over there our table is in like 15 minutes

the fluffiest pizza we've ever had overall our trip in rome has been

and foremost it's kind of unreal to be surrounded by the city's history

and it's so cool to be learning about it

and visiting all of these phenomenal places here in rome they're just endless almost
