Over the weekend, I found myself in Hebei without any real plans of what to do or what to see here.

I first just checked into my hotel and was amazed by the view.

This is our roommate.

Wow, it's so photogenic.

Oh my god.

Let's open the door.

i've never seen nothing like this so tall very nice it's not too hot it's nice and windy

and then i was amazed by the room itself first of all

because it was huge and then

because of the style of the furniture it felt like something

I would only see in a museum I have never slept

in a bed like this before totally new experience for me let's see how comfortable it is well my look

so dark oh okay it's a little bit hard.

That's okay.

The next day, we decided to venture out into the mountains to see what we could find there.

I really wasn't sure what to expect, as I'd never hiked in a mountainous area before.

Honestly, I wasn't even sure if there would be a trail to follow at all.

And to my surprise the first thing i really saw were

these horses the next thing i knew i was climbing on

top of one i mean i don't know about you

but i don't typically ride horses in my everyday life

so at first it's pretty easy to get intimidated because you're up

so high and you feel totally at the mercy of these super huge animals

but after a while you start to get into a rhythm

and it starts to feel pretty nice i think another great thing about hebei is

that these mountains create a great environment for certain crops like

watermelon the extreme heat during the day versus the cool temperatures

at night create the sweetest watermelons ever i've always heard my boyfriend telling me this story

but i never really had a chance to try one until today

I'm so tired I've never climbed this kind of thing in my whole life Oh my god.

Once we reached this peak, the whole trip felt worth it.

This is honestly what I really love about Hebei because you really never know what kinds of treasures it holds.

Sometimes the trip doesn't really make sense and it feels totally random, but it's almost always worth it in the end.
