1
I used to rule the world,
2
sees it rise when I gave the word Now in the morning I sleep alone,
3
sweep the streets I used to own
4
I used to roll the dice Feel the fear in my
5
enemy's eyes Listen as the crowd would sing Now the old king is dead,
6
long live the king One minute I held the key Next the walls were closed on me
7
And I discovered that my castle stand Upon pillars of sun,
8
pillars of sand I hear Jerusalem bells are ringing Roman cavalry choirs are singing Be my mirror,
9
my sword and shield My missionaries in a foreign field For some reason I can't explain Once you've gone,
10
it was never, never an honest word That was
11
when I ruled the
12
world It was
13
the wicked and wild wind Blew down the doors to let me in Shattered windows
14
and the sound of drums People couldn't believe what I'd become
15
Revolutionaries wait For my head on a silver plate Just a
16
puppet on a lonely string Of who would ever want to
17
be king I hear cherished little bells ringing Roman cavalry choirs are singing Be my mirror,
18
my sword
19
and shield My missionaries in a foreign field For some reason
20
I can't explain I know Saint Peter won't call my name Never an honest word
21
But that was when I ruled the world Oh,
22
oh, oh, oh, oh, oh,
23
oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh,
24
oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh I'll mirror my sword
25
and shield I'm missionaries in a foreign field There's some reason I can't explain I know a saint,
26
he don't call my name Never an honest word But that was when I ruled the world
27
Thank you.
