Shadowing-Übung: Reading Explorer Foundation, Unit-4 An Ancient Shipwreck - Englisch Sprechen Lernen mit Video

Lektion wird erstellt...
1
About 2,000 years ago, off the coast of the Greek island of Antikythra,
2
a large ship was sailing to Rome, filled with many beautiful and expensive items.
3
As it passed the island, the ship was hit by a storm and sank.
4
In 1900, some divers found some interesting objects at the shipwreck.
5
Among the items was the Antikythera mechanism, a machine used to study the stars.
6
Some call it an ancient computer.
7
But the story doesn't end there.
8
In 2017, a new team of archaeologists returned to the area where the ship had sunk.
9
There, they dove into the water and searched the seabed.
10
Soon they had found many ancient artifacts.
11
One of these artifacts was an arm from a metal statue.
12
The archaeologists carefully moved the arm off the seabed and out of the water.
13
Later, on their boat, they studied it very carefully.
14
The team think the statue is of a Greek thinker.
15
Another treasure found from this shipwreck was a metal disc.
16
Just like the statue's arm, the disc was brought out of the water and studied.
17
On the disc is a picture of a bull.
18
But no one knows what the picture means or what the object was used for.
19
In the following days, the archaeologists found many more artifacts from the shipwreck.
20
They think Antikythra has the area's largest number of shipwreck artifacts.
21
So they plan to keep looking so they can understand more about the ship that sank here and the treasures it carried.
