I've had a question that's really been bothering me.

I was reading about in an article how a scientist in the late 1500s by the name of Galileo, cool name, said that if two objects dropped,

one heavy and one light, that gravity would pull them down at the same exact speed.

That's correct, but what's got me confused is this.

If I drop the rock and the feather at the exact same time, the rock always falls faster.

So how could Galileo have been right?

Ah, I see.

The thing is, when you drop things here on Earth, gravity isn't the only force acting on them.

While the force of gravity is pulling them down, The air below them is pushing them up.

Scientists call this force air resistance.

And back in 1971, astronaut David Scott did the experiment on the moon by dropping a feather and his rock hammer.

Since the moon has no air, the feather and the hammer hit the ground at the same time, even though the hammer was much heavier.

That seems like something I really want to try out for myself.

Die Methode ist einfach aber wirkungsvoll: Du hörst englisches Audio von Muttersprachlern und wiederholst es sofort laut — wie ein Schatten, der dem Sprecher mit nur 1–2 Sekunden Verzögerung folgt. Anders als passives Hören oder Grammatikübungen zwingt Shadowing dein Gehirn und deine Mundmuskulatur, gleichzeitig echte Sprachmuster zu verarbeiten und zu reproduzieren. Studien zeigen, dass es Aussprachegenauigkeit, Intonation, Rhythmus, verbundene Sprache, Hörverständnis und Sprechflüssigkeit signifikant verbessert — was es zu einer der effektivsten Methoden für die IELTS Speaking-Vorbereitung und reale englische Kommunikation macht.
