1
Welcome back to a new video guys.
2
Today we have another slow English vlog here at the zoo and right now I am feeding the zebras carrots.
3
This is the last carrot.
4
Good afternoon buddy.
5
Loud and annoying so we're at the zoo.
6
This is the entrance.
7
After that we'll go through these gates and beyond the gates.
8
I'm a little more productive.
9
This botanical garden so far.
10
Honestly there are a lot of cages and enclosures.
11
Look at the beautiful pattern
12
on its fur gentle giants and they're super smart there's a python in here somewhere
13
so it does elevate the experience a lot we have one last little bit
14
oh almost bit my finger up let's go i don't know if you guys hear that
15
but that is loud and annoying so we are gonna go outside now let's go Let's go.
16
Okay, guys, we have just arrived at Chiang Mai Zoo.
17
So you can see here, we're at the zoo.
18
This is the entrance or the main gate.
19
This is the main entrance of the zoo.
20
It's a zoo and botanical garden.
21
So we have to go there to the ticket counter, purchase our tickets, and we can go in so let's head in
22
and buy our tickets it's not very expensive it is pretty cheap okay
23
so we just got the tickets show them the tickets
24
that right there is our tickets for two people
25
and this is a qr code that we'll scan
26
and i just bought this drink this electrolyte drink here from
27
these people these are some big umbrellas providing shade for the workers there
28
and that is a soft serve ice cream machine
29
that actually looks good i didn't even notice
30
that here you can see three flagpoles but only one of has a flag and it looks to be the Vietnamese flag.
31
You can see Leon is ordering a coffee here at this stall.
32
Highlands is a very popular chain here in Vietnam.
33
He just ordered a coffee.
34
That right there is the menu.
35
So he is ordering a coffee.
36
He ordered a coffee.
37
He is going to order a coffee.
38
And then after that we'll go through these gates
39
and beyond the gates is the botanical garden and also the zoo
40
but it's very beautiful today today is a very beautiful day
41
so i think we'll have our first shadowing segment here looking at this
42
so take a look try to come up with some sentences
43
and then follow along with the shadowing segment today i am
44
standing near the entrance of a beautiful garden the road is wide and clean
45
and many tall trees surround the area above the entrance there
46
is a large sign a few people are waiting near the gate
47
while others are walking inside the weather is warm and sunny
48
but the trees provide cool shade as i look around i
49
notice how peaceful this place feels the entrance has a modern roof
50
that stretches across the walkway near the gate several visitors are talking quietly
51
and buying tickets behind them colorful signs and information boards help guests find their way.
52
Although the city may be busy outside, this garden seems calm and relaxing.
53
Botanical gardens are special places where people can learn about nature while enjoying a pleasant environment.
54
Because many different plants grow here, visitors have the opportunity to observe species
55
that they might never see elsewhere whether someone comes to exercise take photographs
56
or simply escape from the noise of daily life the garden offers something valuable for everyone
57
if I were entering this garden for the first time I would probably spend several hours exploring its paths
58
and hidden corners not only does the entrance appear welcoming
59
but it also creates a sense of curiosity about what lies beyond the gate.
60
As sunlight filters through the enormous trees overhead, the scene becomes both inviting and memorable.
61
It is the kind of place where people can slow down, appreciate nature, and reconnect with the world around them.
62
And remember guys to stick around to the very end of the video
63
because every video will now finish off with a shadowing segment to practice your pronunciation.
64
So watch until the end.
65
So what did you get?
66
I got an iced coffee with condensed milk.
67
I don't really wake up until i get my coffee
68
or whatever catchy catchphrase white moms say you got an iced
69
coffee with condensed milk do you actually need coffee every morning no not every morning
70
but if i don't sleep
71
that good i don't get a lot of sleep then i'd like to drink a coffee
72
so i'm a little more productive yeah
73
that makes sense i see you have an ear pod in
74
are you listening to anything no this is for people think you're cool
75
no i'm actually listening to something oh you are yeah anyway
76
let's head into the zoo now okay i just finished my
77
drink you can see the bottle is completely empty the bottle
78
is empty now i'm going to throw it out i'm not
79
actually sure what the difference between these four trash bins are
80
but they all say the same thing
81
so i assume they are all the same thing
82
so i'll just throw it in this one now let's go in okay
83
so we just made it in here you have a cutout
84
of probably a celebrity this is like an ice cream stall low -key i can go for an ice cream
85
but we just started the day
86
so maybe let's do a little bit of exploring first before
87
we get the ice cream people got a tripod set up there i wonder what they're filming
88
but yeah dude these trees are actually so tall and beautiful
89
and they actually are providing a lot of shade i didn't even notice that tree review 8 .7 out of 10.
90
tree review number 67.
91
67 dude this is really nice you can see all these
92
vines growing up creating like a roof ceiling for us yeah this beautiful canopy with these natural vines
93
so these are vines i'm not actually sure where the zoo is
94
but we're gonna walk around until we find it oh it's
95
right right here found it oh dude look at the zebra
96
they're not even in an enclosure they're just out in the open wow that's amazing
97
so what do you think of this botanical garden
98
so far honestly all we've seen so far is plants
99
and the botanical side
100
and it is really really pretty it's well taken care of
101
you can see there's a lot of staff there's some staff over there
102
and they're taking really good care of this place we saw some staff on
103
that roundabout over there putting in new plants taking out old dead ones
104
and they do take care of this place really well yeah
105
here you can see another person is working looks like they're planting they're taking out these old plants
106
and then just cleaning up the whole garden area it's really beautiful
107
so they are taking good care of it
108
which is nice to see it is a botanical garden
109
so it makes sense but up here i believe is where the lions
110
and bears are oh
111
and here you can see this is a bird cage there are some blue birds in there
112
so you can see some birds inside here those birds are
113
very blue are they even real i don't even think they're
114
real yeah i'm tripping bro these are fake birds dude i
115
thought they were real oh they're fake i was like why
116
aren't they moving dude they're fake i mean oh no they are fake
117
and i knew that okay so we are here right now at the capybaras
118
and i think after we'll go see these animals
119
and then the lion and then end with the elephant
120
but right now you can see the capybara look at it chewing its hair is so like frizzy
121
it looks really coarse and rough have you pet them before their hair looks very coarse
122
and rough i've never pet them they do not look soft
123
though look at them you can see there are a lot
124
of kids in there feeding them feeding the capybaras i don't even know how capybaras became
125
so popular i guess from the meme of them jumping in water yeah
126
and they just came so well they just look like funny
127
and the way they jump into water is like super funny too and here you have I have a train going through, bringing people across the whole zoo.
128
Oh my gosh, it's Mr. Beast.
129
Oh, Mr. Beast.
130
Mr. Beast.
131
Oh, I want to try this one.
132
I want to try the cookies and cookies.
133
Dude, is this life size?
134
Yo, Mr. Beast is kind of small.
135
Mr. Beast is like, what's that, your height, 5 '4"?
136
This is before he got his veneers though.
137
No. Yeah.
138
His teeth look really white.
139
No, but now he has perfect teeth, so this is before he got his veneers.
140
Now he has veneers so his teeth are perfect.
141
They're too big now.
142
They look too big.
143
So how would you guys describe this grass right here?
144
This grass is very long and it has not been cut in a long time
145
or maybe ever You could see the grass is just very long and tall.
146
It is unkept, but it doesn't look messy or dirty It just looks long.
147
This right here is a very small hedge, very small hedge I think eventually it will grow taller.
148
Down there you can see a pond and a lot of lily pads on the pond.
149
And in the distance you can see high -rise apartments.
150
Those apartments look very nice because they have a view of the botanical gardens.
151
It looks very nice.
152
I'm sure they have a great view from their apartment.
153
And you can see the sky today is mostly blue.
154
There are some clouds in sky making the sky slightly white
155
but for the most part it is blue and clear
156
and you can see look at the size of this tree
157
a lot of these trees in the botanical garden are absolutely massive with huge trunks
158
and there are a lot of cages
159
and enclosures for all the animals there you can see there
160
is a bird cage it looks like that's for pelicans
161
but there's one on top i guess that one got out
162
but the rest are inside three thousand
163
that is the amount of words you need to understand up to ninety five percent of spoken english
164
that is why i made the 3 000 most common english words textbook with clear definitions real example sentences
165
and simple organization by topic and cefr level
166
so you know exactly what to study next and now
167
if you want to learn even more i've added the next 2 000 most common english words
168
so you can get the full 5 000 most common english words textbook to understand up to 98 % of spoken English.
169
This will help you to know exactly what to study and really advance your English vocabulary and level.
170
You can get it at the link in my description or at volcaenglish .com.
171
Okay, we found the bear.
172
You can see the sun bear right there.
173
We can't really see it, but you can see here there is a large ditch so that the bear doesn't climb over the wall.
174
So there's a large ditch here
175
and that's just to keep the bear inside here i think a bear like
176
that would be kind of hot here no i think it's
177
from this area though i think it's an asian bear
178
so i think it's used to it used to this heat yeah
179
but i like how this garden has a lot of shade
180
because of all the trees it's really nice okay
181
so we found the pony look at this pony low -key
182
want to ride it it's eating a carrot are those ponies too?
183
They might be ponies, yeah.
184
I'm not a, I'm not a zoologist.
185
And then they put this fence here just to make sure it can't stick its head out probably
186
because I think it's small enough to fit its head through these gaps.
187
So this is just to make sure, you know, no one touches it and it doesn't touch anyone.
188
There you can see the train is coming again.
189
These are tortoises and you see its shell this is its shell
190
and they move very slowly they move very slowly like look
191
at how fast it moves wow did you see any galapagos tortoises oh millions like big ones millions
192
so many dude look at the monkey eating a banana he's
193
doing the most monkey thing i could possibly think of eating
194
a banana literally dude he's just chilling feeling banana eating it yeah So funny.
195
Looks like the monkey from Planet of the Apes.
196
What was his name?
197
Caesar?
198
Yeah.
199
Caesar.
200
Caesar salad.
201
Oh, now he's eating grapes.
202
Probably got a buffet in there.
203
Bro, look at this guy.
204
He's just chilling, man.
205
That's me for real.
206
That's like me every day.
207
I think monkeys are some of the funniest animals you can see at the zoo.
208
Have you seen that video of the gorilla that's chilling
209
and then another monkey comes and jumps on its head and he just starts fighting everybody around him?
210
No.
211
that sounds hilarious dude these monkeys just be chill they just
212
be like me for real dude i want to see them
213
swing you can see this right here is a man -made
214
waterfall it's kind of sad it's not really very impressive at all
215
but inside here there is a bengal tiger look at it
216
that thing is huge here kitty kitty oh it just woke
217
up oh it it heard me here kitty come over here
218
come on come on buddy i have catnip for you i have whiskers isn't
219
that like a rare cat yeah it's albino i don't think
220
it's albino it's just white pretty sure it's albino it says
221
white bengal tiger oh yeah i guess this is what it
222
is a white bengal tiger oh man look at the other
223
this is the orange bengal like we'll go around just get a better view of it
224
so now we're walking on the side here
225
but there are a lot of people in front of me
226
so my view isn't that good right now so i have to wait
227
but you can see it from here dude that is crazy look at
228
that thing loki i just want to like ride it dude it's
229
so it's so close like you could almost touch it that's crazy dude it's like a big cat
230
where can i get one of these call mike tyson up well i know he has some
231
but look at the beautiful pattern on its fur.
232
It's a beautiful pattern.
233
Like orange, white, and black.
234
Okay, well, we found the crocodile.
235
Look at that thing.
236
How much to jump in there with it?
237
20 bucks.
238
20 bucks? Do it.
239
Dude, they're not that dangerous, man.
240
Dude, that thing will eat you up if you go in there.
241
You just gotta keep your eye on it.
242
Dude, if you jump in that water...
243
I've watched enough of that gator show to know what to do.
244
No, dude, it's game over.
245
That thing is big.
246
It's very big and strong.
247
There's a reason we're up above them on this platform.
248
They're down below.
249
And if you fall, there's a reason this is here to stop you.
250
Yeah, this is a crocodile.
251
This is not a gator.
252
Okay, so we found the female lion here.
253
Let's see if we can find the male lion.
254
What do you call a female lion?
255
A lioness.
256
So we found some more Bengal tigers.
257
There's one there.
258
All right, that's thing looks dangerous bro
259
and here is the second tiger there's a little amusement park
260
here for young kids you can see there are only two people on this ride
261
and they are sitting at the front but this is an amusement park ride
262
and they have another one there and a few more in the background
263
but this is just for young kids
264
that ride right there is my least favorite ride i hate this ride
265
so much because you just go up and then you just draw you hate
266
that more than going upside down yes dude this is my least favorite
267
because it just makes your stomach like feel
268
so like weird like you want to like oh it's just so uncomfortable
269
if you've ever been on this ride you know what I'm talking about I really do not like
270
that right oh my god
271
they're stressing bro remember that was voluntary yeah they just go up and then and they drop very fast down.
272
They go up and then they drop, up and then they drop.
273
Mew it.
274
We found the giraffes, dude.
275
These things are so tall, like really, these are one of my favorite animals.
276
Let me know guys, what is your favorite animal at the zoo?
277
So not a dog or a cat, but your favorite zoo animal.
278
Mine I think is either a rhinoceros or a giraffe they just look
279
so cool and unique to me and they're very majestic in my eyes
280
so tell me what is your favorite zoo animal
281
and why mine i would say a lion i mean it's
282
kind of obvious my name leon lion i was kind of born into it
283
or black panther those are so cool especially
284
when they got like a nice clean black coat they just look
285
so sleek yeah those are good choices i like Rhinos
286
and giraffes because they're just so uniquely shaped
287
and they just look cool to me They look like they're out of like a book or something.
288
This elephant is absolutely enormous, dude It is huge and look at the elephant tusks.
289
They look like they've been cut.
290
That almost looks like an African elephant
291
But I'm pretty sure it's an Asian elephant Honestly to me it looks like an African elephant
292
because I thought Asian elephants had way bigger ears No, African elephants do.
293
Oh, they do?
294
Yeah, it's the other way around
295
but yeah I do know African elephants are a lot bigger than Asian elephants
296
but this elephant is really big this is also one of my favorite animals like it's honestly
297
so unique in the world there's nothing really like it super cool
298
and it's just in the sun probably burning hot I mean
299
it has some water over there very beautiful animal gentle giants
300
and they're super smart yeah
301
and there are a decent amount of people here it is the middle of the week around lunchtime
302
but it still is pretty busy but it's mostly young people here
303
so here are more elephants oh look at these things imagine
304
if those horns impale you oh you'd be done though that's
305
crazy look at this these are from south africa right
306
or they have them in south africa like this uh savannah
307
because i'm pretty sure i've tried uh biltong made out of these
308
and it's really good bro these things look like they're out
309
of narnia like low -key yeah they look really big i
310
like how the horns have like a little twist on them look at this guy
311
and you know why they're coming up people feed them uh
312
carrots look at all these like deer this really reminds me of uh nara in japan like just like
313
so many yeah here obviously they're different
314
but the amount reminds me of uh japan what kind of
315
deer are these the hog deer oh it's called the wildebeest
316
oh yeah that's right i knew it was a cool name
317
this is just a big pen for all these deer
318
and there are a lot probably close to 100
319
and there's some wildebeest over there they're not
320
that big actually oh yeah some wildebeest some wildebeest with a
321
deer that's a pretty cool name south african no yeah from
322
africa yeah those are the animals you always see getting wrecked by crocodiles in in like
323
and lions safari movies and stuff safari documentaries
324
and also by lions they just get eaten by everything loki kind of weak look at
325
that snake looks like an anaconda or something python
326
so right now we are in the reptile house so all of these animals in here are reptiles.
327
There's a python in here somewhere.
328
Oh, up there.
329
Python.
330
Hermes python.
331
That just sounds dangerous.
332
Yeah, there are a lot of snakes and other reptiles in this area.
333
Reptiles.
334
Reptiles are cold -blooded animals.
335
Oh, snapping turtle.
336
Here is an iguana.
337
Hey, buddy.
338
How are you doing? this is a cool animal as well
339
I like the color look at this guy he's like half shedding oh oh
340
and there's red underneath it I didn't even notice there's two
341
yeah what's this guy on what's your deal boy I think they ran out of space everywhere else
342
because they threw all the extra ones in here they're literally climbing on top of each other
343
and they have a crocodile and a giant anaconda you know these iguanas breed really fast
344
so in a lot of places they're actually invasive.
345
yeah a lot of places these are invasive species specifically i
346
know in florida they are this is my favorite animal bro i wanted to see it
347
so bad but it's far
348
that is a rhino sleeping right now rhino oh he heard you
349
or she dude such a cool animal i wish i could see it up close
350
so yeah rhinos are like my favorite animal to see at the zoo they're just
351
so cool and unique i've only seen them once
352
and i was like mesmerized you can see i'm also sweating a lot today
353
it's really hot it's a hot day
354
but i think we're pretty much done at the zoo there's probably a couple more things to see
355
but we'll start heading towards the exit here's another rhino this time we could see the front of it it's
356
so big and the horn is
357
so cool this animal is really cool i love it super
358
cool yeah there's the other one two rhinos what did you
359
think of the zoo it was nice like out of all the zoos we visited
360
so far this is the third one i think this is
361
the nicest one this was a really nice zoo i liked it
362
because it was the cheapest one and it had so
363
so much like
364
and even look at this look at this hedge it looks
365
like an elephant it's crazy now this zoo is definitely in
366
my opinion the nicest one i've been to in asia
367
so far and like all these trees are
368
so nice too like just gives
369
so much shade it's really nice i like it i think every zoo should be mixed with a botanical garden
370
because it makes the experience so much nicer yeah
371
because this is a zoo and a botanical garden
372
so it does elevate the experience a lot let me know
373
what did you guys think of this zoo did you like it did you not like it
374
and what was your favorite animal you saw today
375
and also final question have you been to a zoo before
376
and if you have which zoo and was it better than this
377
or worse now there are a lot of people look at
378
all those people i think a lot of kids are coming
379
on field trips here today yeah for field trips since the
380
beginning of the day anyway guys this is the end of
381
the video we'll have a shadowing segment right now to finish off the video don't just watch the lesson once
382
and forget it
383
if you actually want to remember what you learn then complete
384
the workbook i created for this video it helps you practice
385
the key vocabulary meaning sentence building pronunciation shadowing speaking writing
386
and everything you learned from this lesson at the link in my description
387
or at volcaenglish .com today i'm at the zoo there are
388
two large elephants in the enclosure one elephant is standing near the fence
389
and the other elephant is standing beside a tree the ground is dry
390
and sandy many green trees grow around the area the elephants look calm
391
and they move slowly i can see their long trunks big ears and strong legs
392
the elephant on the right side is closer to us
393
while the other elephant is farther away it appears to be exploring the tree
394
and looking for something interesting nearby there are logs rocks
395
and a small shelter where the elephants can rest although the
396
day is sunny the shade from the trees help keep the
397
animals comfortable sometimes elephants use their trunks to pick up food drink water
398
or interact with objects around them elephants are among the largest
399
land animals in the world yet they can perform surprisingly delicate
400
movements as i watch them i notice how carefully they walk across the enclosure
401
and how peacefully they share the space
402
because elephants are highly intelligent they often display complex behaviors
403
and strong social bonds watching these magnificent animals remind me
404
that strength and gentleness can exist together
405
if visitors spend enough time observing the elephants they may begin to appreciate details
406
that are easy to overlook at first not only are these animals powerful
407
