Shadowing Practice: turn jealousy into inspiration - Learn English Speaking with Video

Creando lección...
1
We just have to shift it and take our power back and come from a more abundant headspace.
2
That's really how we can turn jealousy into inspiration is if we're not coming from a scarcity mindset of like, oh, there's not enough for me and I can't have that and this person has that and I'm not good enough.
3
If we can shift it to, wow, that person is really inspiring me.
4
Wow, they're showing me that I can do that too.
5
I have the power and I have a desire.
6
That's so powerful and that person is showing me that
7
that desire can manifest in the real world and that's so exciting
8
hi everybody i cannot thank you enough for the love you
9
gave me on my last video you guys really proved my point of building confidence you proved to me
10
that building confidence in the ways that i was talking about works
11
and that it's worth it i just can't thank you enough i feel
12
so grateful for connecting with all of you and i am just so happy
13
because it's my dream to just make a difference in any of your lives just to say something
14
that maybe clicks somewhere or makes you see this differently
15
so just thank you thank you thank you thank you for allowing me to talk and for listening.
16
I am just very grateful.
17
So let's talk about jealousy.
18
Good morning.
19
I am again making another floral arrangement.
20
It is first thing in the morning.
21
I wanted to come and talk to you guys about jealousy
22
and turning that jealousy into inspiration because jealousy is such a powerful emotion
23
and I think that it can be used for good
24
if it is shifted to inspiration so how do you do
25
that what is jealousy got a little peppermint tea going
26
because my tummy is hurting a little bit this morning the
27
definition of jealous me holding these scissors the definition of jealousy is feeling
28
or showing envy of someone or their achievements or advantages
29
and the definition of envy is a feeling of discontented
30
or resentful longing aroused by someone else's possessions qualities
31
or luck as women
32
and especially as young girls we're all kind of taught to
33
just be super jealous of each other i have noticed
34
that at least like growing up
35
that was always sort of the root of drama in middle school
36
and everything was just like jealousy this person hanging out with this person
37
and i'm jealous of this and
38
that it was very ingrained in my brain to be jealous
39
women are to a certain degree we have to rely on like our external appearance to get us anywhere
40
or outward success for anybody to take us seriously.
41
It makes sense that we're always comparing ourselves to each other
42
because in order to get any sort of validity in this world, we have to come across as worthy or successful.
43
And if somebody else is doing that and you fear that maybe you don't have enough success in that way, then you're going to compare yourself.
44
You're going to feel jealous.
45
We're taught to do that.
46
It's almost like a survival thing within us i feel like
47
and so just as a young girl i always felt there was a need for me to be jealous
48
and as a young woman now like we're supposed to be comparing ourselves in one way
49
or another jealousy is such a vicious emotion
50
and it is always hungry for more
51
and there's just such a lack of satisfaction i know
52
that i feel the most jealous whenever i see somebody doing something
53
or achieving something very similarly to how I would want to achieve it, some sort of level of success that I wish to achieve or something that I aspire to do,
54
and I watch somebody already doing it, sometimes I can feel, ah, like, I wish that was me and I'm jealous
55
and I wish I could be in that spot and I envy them and their achievements.
56
If somebody has something that I wish that I had for the longest time, that feeling of, like, why not me?
57
I'm so jealous of this person.
58
The resentment comes and then you try to, like, paint a bad picture of
59
that person in your head like you just you kind of start to put them down you resent them
60
because you are jealous of something that they have
61
and i have definitely felt that before i think we all have
62
and it's okay it's okay
63
that we have it it's just what do we do about it
64
and how do we use that
65
if you want what someone has you won't get it through negatively charged emotions such as discontent
66
or resentment and if you do those feelings will only be perpetuated
67
and find other resources to grow and
68
that doesn't allow you to truly feel content
69
or successful within yourself no matter what material success you might gain think about it like
70
if you grow a crop in poisonous soil or a soil
71
that has like lead in it or something like
72
that right yeah the crop will probably grow it can maybe the soil is
73
so unhealthy that it can't grow like
74
if you're trying to do something out of jealousy maybe it's just You always going to sort of backfire
75
but at the same time your actions could bring you towards success
76
and the crop could grow in the poisonous soil
77
but what's going to be in the crop now all the nutrients
78
that should have been in the soil are not there
79
and the crop is probably poisonous now
80
that it's grown in poison soil jealousy is it's like that
81
if you're building something and the foundation is full of jealousy
82
and resentment towards others then your success is going to be a product of
83
that it's like jealousy is a parasite it feeds off of comparison
84
and ego that is what jealousy does and any success
85
that you gain through that emotion will just give it more
86
and more validation and more food to just grow like fatter
87
and fatter your jealousy will just change forms
88
and change shapes say you're jealous of this person
89
because they achieved this accolade and then you're so jealous
90
that it inspires you to do the same and then maybe you get
91
that same accolade but your jealousy it still exists you know like it's still the root there
92
and it's going to look for something else now to resent somebody for
93
and to feel jealous of and then maybe it'll go find
94
that too and it just keeps getting bigger
95
and bigger we haven't solved the root problem what is success
96
if you can't enjoy it and feel like satisfied and happy
97
and content in your achievements like what is it
98
if you're just hungry and resentful and jealous wanting more
99
and more and more like it's one thing to be driven
100
and want more success and to find ways to do that
101
and to feel authentically satisfied and proud of yourself versus just using
102
that jealousy as fuel but like i said earlier jealousy is a very powerful emotion
103
and it can be used for good i think if we turn it into something else
104
if somebody else has something that you want that is proof
105
that there is enough to go around and
106
that you can have it too we
107
so often come from a scarcity headspace of oh there's not enough
108
and if this person has
109
that then it's already taken i need to be the one who does this
110
and does that it's just like no if somebody else is doing something
111
or has something or has achieved something
112
that you also want it's almost i don't want to say better
113
that somebody has paved the way or done it before you
114
but it kind of gives you some inspiration it gives you a guideline of okay how did this person do
115
that and how can i do that in my own way
116
and can i use them as a guideline and as inspiration
117
and the fact that they have accomplished this thing shows me
118
that it is out there
119
and it's possible for me to accomplish too in my own way jealousy is telling the people around you
120
and yourself and if you are spiritually connected to god
121
or the universe or whatever you believe in you're showing everyone
122
and yourself and the universe god whatever
123
that you don't think you're worthy of having that thing
124
that whatever you're jealous of you're feeling jealousy
125
because you are not worthy of it why else would you feel jealous
126
if you thought oh yeah that person did it
127
and i can do that too there wouldn't be any jealousy there would just be motivation
128
but the fact that you're jealous shows that you don't think
129
that you're worthy within yourself it might not seem super obvious like other people catch on to
130
that but like last time we talked about insecurity right jealousy is they're very related emotions they're very connected
131
and anytime that you express that jealousy or even
132
if you feel it internally in your head it is bound to come out in your emotions
133
and your voice and your expressions jealousy is showing yourself
134
and others that you don't think you're worthy the thing
135
that you want or the thing
136
that you're jealous of somebody else for having is farther
137
and farther away from you the more that you resent
138
that person for having it and the more that you're envious
139
and jealous of them it's kind of validating right
140
because it's like okay if somebody has this thing
141
that means i can have it too
142
but then it's kind of scary to think oh no the
143
more jealous i am the more farther away it is
144
and the more i feel less worthy it's a little scary
145
but i promise you initially being jealous of something is kind of a good sign
146
because it shows you what you want and it shows you where you feel like you're lacking.
147
I think it can actually reveal a lot of valuable things that can help us grow as people.
148
Look how cute these are.
149
I love the little shape of these.
150
I think, what are these called?
151
I can never say this.
152
Renanculous.
153
Renanculous.
154
Okay.
155
All right so i think an important distinction to make is
156
that yes if somebody did something or has something
157
that you're jealous of that you want like it's proof
158
that you can have it too if somebody else did it right
159
but we can never have the same story
160
or the exact same success as somebody else has had we can never have the exact same success story
161
or the exact same achievements we can follow it similarly
162
but you can have the exact same make and model of a car that you're jealous of somebody for having, right?
163
But you can't have the exact same success story as somebody else we have to build our own
164
and inspiration is the greatest tool for that that is what we need
165
that is literally inspiration is our toolbox to create our own success story
166
and we can get
167
that inspiration from the jealousy the jealousy can teach us how to be inspired
168
and the first thing to ask yourself what is it triggering
169
the envy in you whenever you ask yourself what is triggering this envy
170
and jealousy it's an ugly journey to figure it out you
171
know what i mean it's not a fun thing to look at that's why
172
so many of us like cover up our jealousy by like oh well you know i could do
173
that i could actually do that better
174
so these questions can like reveal a lot of painful conclusions
175
so just be be ready for
176
that what is triggering my envy where do i feel like i'm lacking
177
so hard that i can't imagine myself being in
178
that situation why is this something
179
that i feel like i can't have what is triggering your jealousy you don't feel adequate with
180
because you feel like you're lacking that why does that person have
181
that why don't i have that where where do you feel the lack
182
and once i think you figure
183
that out why am i getting triggered where do i feel
184
the lack why do i feel like this person can have this
185
and i can't whatever the can't the lack the insecurity is
186
that is golden so find
187
that why is this thing triggering me where do i feel the lack
188
and that insecurity is your answer so whatever it is
189
and it's it's so uncomfortable to admit that insecurity
190
but i promise you it is the first and most important step
191
if you can do that you are ahead of the game
192
because i think most people live their lives in jealousy
193
and in insecurity and in comparison of other people
194
and they don't want to admit the thing that they feel they're lacking
195
or the reason that they feel inadequate so they continue to resent
196
and they continue to try to make themselves feel better with
197
some sort of negative reinforcement reinforcement of i'm better than this person
198
or i could be doing that or just
199
so much comparison i don't think a lot of people get past
200
that point so
201
if you can be real enough with yourself you don't have
202
to tell anybody don't tell anybody what the insecurity is i don't really express my jealousy
203
or like talk about it that much because it makes me like cringe
204
because i know that it's just me feeling a lack of something right
205
so if you can admit where you feel the lack you are a million steps ahead
206
and what i was saying earlier is jealousy is such a potent strong emotion
207
and we don't want to lose that potency we want to use
208
that for something good we just have to shift it
209
and take our power back
210
and come from a more abundant headspace that's really how we can turn jealousy into inspiration is
211
if we're not coming from a scarcity mindset of like oh there's not enough for me
212
and i can't have that and this person has that
213
and i'm not good enough if we can shift it to wow
214
that person is really inspiring me wow they're showing me
215
that i can do that too i have the power
216
and i have a desire that's so powerful and
217
that person is showing me that that desire can manifest in the real world
218
and that's so exciting you know coming from
219
that it's it's a tricky thing to train your brain i'll do another video on
220
that one of these days like training your brain to think a certain way
221
because of course like i said since we're little girls we're all taught to be
222
so jealous and compare ourselves to each other having to retrain
223
that to oh i'm actually so inspired like that's not easy
224
that is actually like kind of really difficult to shift from
225
so much worry and fear i know
226
that you guys know what i'm talking about like the jealousy thing feels like a survival thing
227
when you see something you're jealous of or you feel
228
that pang of jealousy it's anxiety it's like oh no oh no how do i get
229
that to oh no this person has
230
that like it's such a it's a scary feeling so switching
231
that scary lack to oh my goodness thank god somebody is showing me
232
that i can do that too thank goodness that that exists
233
because that's a guideline for me oh my gosh this is
234
so exciting that that is happening for that person because i know
235
that i can be excited for them and happy for them
236
and i can create that for myself in a version
237
that suits me even better because it's my own
238
and it's authentic to me
239
so yeah we don't want to lose the potency of jealousy it's such a it's such a strong thing
240
and i think that our inspiration can be even stronger than
241
that jealousy because negative emotions only have
242
so much strength right like they can be really all mind consuming
243
but at the same time we talked about earlier it's just
244
poison like we're just gonna end up with poisonous success
245
and poisonous results if we're coming from jealousy
246
and it really can't take us that far where
247
if we're able to make that shift into inspiration
248
that can take us anywhere we want to go and it's beautiful
249
so know that if you can feel abundance
250
and certainty in place of your lack and resentment and envy
251
and jealousy you can create for yourself the thing that you desire
252
when you create from a place of inspiration
253
and a place of being happy for others
254
and excited for others there's just so much on your side there's
255
so much abundance on your side you're gonna attract
256
that same excitement from other people you're gonna attract people who
257
truly want you to succeed there's gonna be no mal intent
258
there's not gonna be this competitive egotistical charge underneath you
259
when you're creating the life that you desire it's gonna be good
260
and authentic and real
261
and it's gonna give you the foundation to really create from a place of authenticity
262
and happiness that's just the best place to be so
263
when you create or want something from a place of abundance
264
and inspiration you will attract it i promise it's hard to
265
shift from like the seething jealousy for another person onto your insecurity
266
because it's like i said earlier we don't really want to look at the insecurity of ours
267
but it's the tool to actually get us what we want
268
and to get you in a place of having the thing
269
that you're jealous of i know
270
that it's a lot easier to just like be jealous of somebody instead of looking at yourself
271
and what you're actually insecure about but i promise you
272
if you truly want that thing
273
that somebody has that's the first step we got to see what you think you're lacking in
274
because if you can build that up then you are good to go
275
and you're coming from a place of abundance and certainty within yourself
276
but kind of shining the light on your insecurity in
277
that way it's going to show you where the gap is between you
278
and whoever you're jealous of it's going to show you where you need to bridge
279
that and what you need to do
280
and where you need to go it like that insecurity and
281
that gap and the reason you feel like you're here
282
and this person is here or you feel a lack of something
283
that is going to give you the guideline as to what do you need to build up
284
and what do need to work on within yourself in order to feel adequate enough
285
and that's gonna allow you to handle success too in whatever form you're searching for it
286
if you can feel certainty and stability within yourself you can handle it too
287
and you can have the thing that somebody else has too why i said
288
that you'll be like 10 million steps ahead
289
if you're able to sort of point out why you feel jealousy
290
and why you feel a lack of something is
291
because most of the people that we're jealous of or
292
that we think are so above us
293
or succeeding in some way are still extremely discontent they don't feel satisfied
294
and like we look at them and their success
295
or whatever they have money power fame the job we want
296
or whatever we look at whatever they have
297
and we think to ourselves i would feel so content
298
if i had that or i would my life would just be made
299
if i had that but it wouldn't
300
if you're coming from a place of jealousy and comparison
301
and i think a lot of people don't really do this work
302
so when they do happen to fall into the success
303
or whatever they have they don't really get to enjoy the fruits of their labor
304
or really reap all the benefits and satisfaction of whatever great thing they have
305
because they still have comparison
306
and jealousy within themselves they're just looking to do the next big
307
and better thing that's what we were saying earlier is like
308
if you're doing it with the wrong intention or with comparison
309
or ego in the front seat then it's always going to exist there it's something
310
that we really overlook we were talking about it's a lot
311
easier to just be jealous of somebody instead of actually figuring out why you feel jealous
312
and so i think that a lot of this like work
313
that we're talking about is really undermined
314
and it's just all about success success go get what you want
315
and go do that and if this person can do it you can do it too
316
and it's like yeah of course like okay that's great
317
and that's true
318
but what intention do we have are we coming from an authentic place of non -comparison are we making sure
319
that we're not looking down on others as we're doing it
320
or having malicious feelings in our heart for others who are doing it faster than us
321
or in different circumstances than us it's so foundational
322
and important i think
323
that it would save people down the line whenever they do reach a level of whatever it is
324
that they're wanting i think that people could actually really enjoy it
325
and do more and go to the next level with more of their own power
326
if they felt content within themselves people we are jealous of oh oh my god people people
327
that we're jealous of most of the time feel the same thing on on a different scale
328
so that's i'm not really saying that to be like
329
so don't worry you can be jealous too i'm saying
330
that as in you are going to be really building yourself an amazing foundation
331
if you're able to move towards your desires and the things
332
that you want when you realize why you're not happy
333
that others have that
334
if you're able to pinpoint your insecurities as to why you
335
feel jealous you're going to be ahead of the game
336
and be able to welcome your newfound forms of success and confidence with authentic satisfaction.
337
is what I'm trying to say.
338
And that will inspire you to keep going instead of festering jealousy, which will always want you to feed it.
339
It will always want food.
340
It's like a parasite, like we said.
341
Like, it'll always want something from you.
342
If you succeed or whatever, you reach a certain point, that jealousy is not gonna be happy for you.
343
Maybe for one second, your ego's gonna be like, hmm, okay, cool, you did it.
344
What's next?
345
Look what that person's doing.
346
Like, the jealousy is always gonna require food
347
and your inspiration will not you will feel content you will feel happy for those around you
348
and yourself and if you can feel happy for the people who are achieving the thing
349
that you want to achieve you are telling yourself
350
and everyone around you and the people that are doing the thing
351
that you want or have the thing that you want
352
that you are worthy of it too
353
because you're excited you're curious you're inspired i think that
354
if you if you can walk with if you can
355
if you are showing other people and the world around you
356
that you're excited and that you know that because this exists
357
and because this person has done this that you can do it too
358
and you're excited and you're ready and you're happy for those people then hi me
359
if you're excited for those people and you can move through your life
360
and your experiences with that excitement you're showing others that you deserve
361
that thing too and you will get that thing
362
if you are actually walking the earth
363
and living your everyday experience as an inspired person versus a jealous person you will line up with everything
364
that you want if you're showing people
365
that you're worthy of this thing you will attract opportunities
366
that will allow you to prove
367
that even more like i think the first step is being inspired
368
and being excited by a desire or something
369
that you want i can't even express how powerful it is to instead of looking at somebody
370
and resenting them and their achievements and being like oh i could do better
371
that person doesn't deserve that or whatever like instead of wasting all of
372
that like i said very potent emotion instead of wasting all
373
that energy on that imagine inquiring to
374
that person how did you do this like i'm really happy for you i really admire what you're doing
375
and i would like to know more using that energy to do
376
that instead oh my god that is going to get you
377
so far and i promise you it's gonna relieve you of
378
that anxiety that jealousy creates remember we were talking about
379
that earlier like whenever you feel jealousy and you're like ah
380
and you feel this like scarcity and like need to compensate for something
381
that feeling of inquiring and curiosity and genuine excitement
382
and happiness for those who have what you want it's going to give you
383
so much relief it's going to feel like the opposite of
384
that it's going to feel like you are abundant in resources
385
and time and you can do it too
386
and it's it's a relief to your system and it'll calm you down
387
and it'll inspire it'll it's inspiration and
388
that inspiration is what will take you far something we say in islamic culture is mashallah
389
and mashallah means when you feel genuine admiration for somebody's beauty
390
or something like whenever you compliment somebody you have such beautiful
391
eyes mashallah you're saying like you have such beautiful eyes
392
and i'm saying that with pure god's intent i'm not saying it with any malice
393
or any sort of jealous intent i'm saying it as a genuine authentic compliment like me
394
and my friend max if you watch my channel you've seen her many times
395
when we compliment each other sometimes we'll say mashallah
396
so we really know i'm saying this out of just pure happiness for you mashallah
397
that is such an amazing accomplishment
398
that you've made it's like the opposite of evil eye like you know getting into all
399
that i know multiple cultures including islamic culture as well the evil eye is whenever you are putting
400
that jealous malice intent on somebody because that envy is just it's
401
so hungry for comparison and evil and you want
402
that person to fail so that you can feel content in some way
403
and it's just like no we don't want anybody to fail
404
because if that person fails it's not gonna make you more successful
405
that person if they have some beauty in some way
406
that you feel like you don't have or they have success like taking
407
that away from them or making them feel bad about
408
that it's just putting bad stuff on you man like it's just digging you deeper
409
and deeper into the pit of what jealousy really is
410
which is just a never -ending cycle of misery jealousy lies to you
411
and tells you it will feel good and great once you reach this point
412
or once you have that thing or if you had
413
that thing but it's not true it never ever leaves
414
and i promise you because it's so powerful we can use it for good and we can use it for inspiration Yeah.
415
What other thoughts do I have on jealousy?
416
Okay.
417
So we're kind of dealing with these being too floppy.
418
I don't really know how to fix that.
419
I think I was actually kind of wanting more height with these, but that's not really what we're getting.
420
So I'm going to have to play around with
421
that you know what these actually might be like the lower parts here jealousy is a very powerful tool
422
and it can really show us everything that we want
423
and everywhere that we secretly don't feel good enough because insecurity is
424
so uncomfortable to admit we don't really tend to think about where do i feel like i'm lacking
425
when you really deconstruct your feelings of jealousy it can show
426
you how to be inspired it's just it's such a relieving thing to feel excitement over envy
427
when you start allowing yourself to do that you will grow
428
so much as a person and you will continue to become closer
429
and closer and closer to the things that you want
430
and i think like it can be really intimidating like for example i'm a writer
431
and being around other people who maybe have accolades that i don't
432
or have a level of achievement or an educational background
433
that i lack i feel like i want to compare myself immediately
434
that voice in my head is putting me down and telling me
435
that there's something that i don't have and
436
that you know i want this thing and i'm not good enough it's
437
so much easier to just be in your head about it
438
and to feel jealous and unsatisfied and it's
439
so intimidating to like look to those people for inspiration
440
or to ask them questions or to surround yourself by people
441
that you might usually be really jealous of or
442
that you think are better than you or have something that you don't have, if you can start to feel excited about the things that you were once jealous of,
443
it's going to make you your own version of that success that you see in other people.
444
The more inspiration that you start to create within yourself, maybe if you have like a vision board or you have something
445
that triggers the inspiration in you or you put that representation of
446
that career or that thing or that accolade or whatever it is
447
that you want
448
and you continue to trigger the inspiration over the jealousy every time you feel jealousy the more
449
that you reinforce it to inspiration the more naturally it will start to just become inspiration
450
and if your life is full of inspiration you will continue to surround yourself with people who inspire you
451
and you'll continue to put yourself in situations that inspire you
452
because you're not scared of the jealousy you're not scared of feeling resentment
453
and feeling smaller than people or like you don't have enough
454
because you realized okay this is where i feel like i'm
455
lacking how can i learn from the people around me
456
and like say
457
that you do put yourself in a situation where you are around people who are a higher status than you
458
or they have an accolade you want like for example with
459
me like how i said with the writers maybe i'm around a bunch of writers who are very prestigious right
460
and if they try to give me an attitude for being curious
461
and wanting to learn then that is their own comparative nature
462
and their own ego and their own jealousy their own insecurities
463
that they haven't healed if you see somebody who's genuinely happy for you
464
and excited about your success and wants to learn more from you
465
if you are content with yourself you should feel more than happy to share some wisdom with them
466
if anybody tries to give you a hard time for feeling excited
467
and tries to make you feel like you are less than them
468
that is not it's not your problem you're not going to
469
end up like them you're going to have success in the ways
470
that you want and you're going to feel good and satisfied
471
and happy and you're going to want to inspire others
472
because you used your inspiration to get you so far
473
so it's it's contagious the more
474
that we continue to train our brains to feel excited instead of jealous
475
and redirect it to inspiration then we're just inspired
476
and being inspired is what drives our action and our motivation
477
and eventually what we achieve we are very inclined to feel jealous
478
but find where the jealousy is
479
because it's powerful find out where you're jealous who are you jealous of
480
and use them as inspiration and as like a guideline
481
and a roadmap of how did they get this thing
482
and how can i do it in my own way
483
that is authentic and exciting to me the building blocks are what is your insecurity
484
and what is your desire and turning that into inspiration
485
that will fuel you and take you so far also guys i don't know
486
if i'm loving what i'm making here
487
so far um okay no no okay i'm getting i'm getting more of a vision now, a little bit.
488
Okay.
489
Yeah, no, no, no. We're getting somewhere.
490
We're getting somewhere with this.
491
Thank you.
