Lección 55 · Etapa 4: Tiempos verbales y modales
Future perfect
AvanzadoForma y uso
will have + V3 — una acción terminada antes de un momento del futuro
1.Forma
El future perfect = will have + participio (V3), igual para todos los sujetos: siempre will have, también con he / she / it.
| Estructura | Ejemplo | |
|---|---|---|
| Afirmativa | S + will have + V3 | I'll have finished. |
| Negativa | S + won't have + V3 | They won't have left. |
| Pregunta | Will + S + have + V3? | Will you have finished by six? |
| Respuesta corta | Yes, S will. / No, S won't. | Yes, I will. / No, I won't. |
Al hablar rápido, will have pasa a 'll have y el have suena muy débil, casi “I'll've finished”.
1. Algo que estará terminado antes de (o como muy tarde en) un momento del futuro, a menudo con by + una hora, by the time + oración, before
Don't worry — I'll have sent you the file by lunchtime.
By the time we get to the station, the last train will have left.
Call me after eight. I won't have finished work before then.
Llámame después de las ocho. Antes no habré terminado de trabajar.
2. Contar un periodo de tiempo o una cantidad hasta un momento del futuro: will have + V3 + for…
Next June, Lan will have worked here for five years.
By the end of this course, you will have learned over 500 new words.
In December, my parents will have been married for thirty years.
Para recalcar una actividad que continúa, puedes usar will have been + -ing (el future perfect continuous): By six, I'll have been driving for ten hours.
It's ten o'clock. Mai will have arrived in Hanoi by now.
Son las diez. Mai ya habrá llegado a Hanói.
You'll have heard the news, I suppose.
El futuro compuesto español (“habré terminado”) equivale bastante bien a will have + V3.
3.By, by the time y until
- by + un momento = no más tarde de ese momento, muy frecuente con will have + V3: I'll have finished by Friday.
- by the time + presente simple = para cuando…: By the time you wake up, I'll have left (no: will wake up); mira la lección “Oraciones temporales de futuro”.
- until = hasta ese momento, sin interrupción; se usa con una acción que dura: I'll be working until six (no: I'll have finished until six); mira la lección “By o until”.
4.Comparado con tiempos parecidos
| Tiempo verbal | Ejemplo | Se cuenta hasta |
|---|---|---|
| Pasado perfecto | When I met Lan, she had worked here for a year. | un momento del pasado |
| Present perfect | Lan has worked here for four years. | ahora |
| Future perfect | Next June, Lan will have worked here for five years. | un momento del futuro |
¿Will be -ing o will have + V3? En ese momento, si la acción está en curso → will be -ing; si ya está terminada → will have + V3.
At seven, I'll be cooking dinner, so don't call.
By eight, I'll have eaten, so we can talk then.
(terminado)
