Common Pronunciation Traps

In this transcript, certain words and phrases may present pronunciation challenges for English learners. Here are a few to focus on:

  • "Custody": Pay attention to the pronunciation of the 't' and 'd' sounds, which can be tricky for non-native speakers.
  • "Alarming": The stress is on the second syllable, which can be difficult to master. Practice emphasizing that part to sound more natural.
  • "Gunfire": The combination of 'g' and 'fire' can be tricky. Ensure that you pronounce the 'g' clearly to avoid confusion.
  • "Motivation": The correct pronunciation of this word includes emphasis on the 'va' syllable. Misplacing the stress can make you hard to understand.

By practicing these sounds in the context of the video, you can effectively improve your pronunciation and speaking clarity, making your shadow speak sessions more productive.
