1
Take a sip of salt water, then swish it around your mouth really hard.
2
As it moves across your cheeks, it scrapes off thousands of loose cells.
3
Now spit the water into a cup and add a little dish soap.
4
The soap works the same way it does on dishes, breaking apart fat and grease.
5
And since the outside of your cells is wrapped in a fatty membrane, they split open.
6
Your DNA leaks out into the liquid, but you still can't see it.
7
So next, gently pour cold rubbing alcohol on top, which will pull the DNA out of the water and make the tiny strands clump together.
8
After a few minutes, you'll see cloudy white strings floating in the cup, and that is your DNA.
