And he's got some arguments against things like foreign investment, where he's saying that, you know, if you have foreign investment,

most of the time it's going to take the platform of like transnational corporation coming into your country, potentially siphoning itself away from all of the rest of the economy.

So it's mainly just taking up land and labor

and the rest of the money that they're making isn't going back into the rest of it.

It can take away opportunities from local business owners or just drive them out.

There are actually some interesting and effective arguments against it, but Hajoon Chang keeps like running up against the idea of protectionism.

And essentially the logic of it ends up with, well, you need to be a protectionist country in that case

and have strong tariffs to be able to protect against foreign encroachment into the economy.
