So I've just attended the Made on YouTube 2026 event in New York City that I was kindly invited to.

So here's literally everything they announced before I get thrown out of this hotel room.

You're soon going to be able to live stream your reaction to other live streams on YouTube, as well as long form content if they opt into this program.

And the good news here is that any source material used, whether it is a live stream or a long form piece of content, benefits from more views and watch time as well.

This one seems pretty incredible

and a glimpse into the future there is now going to

be auto dubbing on live streams in real time i'll be fascinated to see how

that works in the real world

and then there's also something called showdown where two live streamers

are going to compete with each other through the use of jewels to see who wins

so it's kind of like a pay -to -play gamification live

streaming as of today you can put your youtube shorts into series

so expect tons of micro dramas coming down the pipeline Something

that we've explored previously and is now rolling out in a broader fashion are custom feeds.

So you can ignore the homepage, type in what you want to see right now and save those custom feeds for the future.

And community posts, or as they're known these days, posts are coming to TV.

Now then, these next announcements are huge, but first a disclaimer.

I don't think anybody saw this coming.

Jaws dropped to the floor when this was announced.

It gives creators incredible options and opportunity and choice,

but oh my goodness, what an incredible amount of extra work I potentially need to do when I'm making a video.

I did also ask

if A -B testing of videos was going to be connected in any way to A -B testing of titles and thumbnails, and the answer is no. But staying on that topic of A -B testing of thumbnails,

there is a new feature coming called Dynamic Thumbnails,

whereby YouTube is going to pick the best thumbnail for the viewer in order to convince them to click.

I still can't work out how this one's actually going to work, so we'll have to wait and see.

And for YouTube Shorts, you're going to be able to just upload your content to the app

and prompt an edit into existence.

On to some community stuff now, And you know when you open up your post to absolutely everybody,

it just turns into an absolute mess of a community post board where you can now restrict

that to just members of your channel.

To increase comment engagement on TV, you'll be able to dictate your comment into a remote control

so that it types out the message for you in the comments.

And now comment moderation is going to be more personalized.

It's going to look at your history of how you are moderating comments

and then try and apply that to comments in the future, which sounds like a pretty useful tool to me.

Here's a hilarious update that's bound to work perfectly with absolutely no problems whatsoever, GIFs in comments.

I know which one I'm going to be using and very much abusing.

And YouTube also say that they're bringing on -platform messaging and video sharing to the platform.

but you know youtube hype yeah that's still a thing

and going forward you'll be able to purchase extra jewels in

other words hypes to promote your favorite creators even more affiliate

marketing is being rolled out to a lot more countries 35 in total by the end of the year

so for example if you're a uk viewer

and you see a us creator promoting a product

that usually only us customers could buy now hopefully there will

be a local link for the uk viewer to purchase

that product and then the creator gets a commission on top of

that and something

that was announced at last year's made on youtube branded segments

is still on its way this is where instead of burning

in a brand deal to your video you'll be able to hot swap these adverts in your videos

so that you can turn them to different promotions seasons

and new brand opportunities

when it gets here the ask youtube studio ai chatbot feature

is being fleshed out a little bit more first of all it's getting rolled out to the mobile app

and you can now use it to put together brand deal opportunities

and improve your media kit

and it It also looks like you'll be able to get it to literally watch your videos and critique it, say on the hook.

Sounds interesting.

Another thing that's also coming to the mobile app is likeness detection, which has been on desktop now for around about six months.

And that has also been upgraded to include voice detection as well.
