1
good morning guys it's syd and welcome back
2
so you read the title right we're doing a little self
3
-care vlog today i wanted to show you guys what i
4
like to do on my like self -care days i think what's important for me is
5
that i schedule them and kind of like a lot a specific day
6
or time for it because it just makes it feel like more intentional
7
so we're gonna be doing some like fun pampering things
8
which i'm really happy about i'm gonna get a coffee i'm
9
gonna get a massage i'm really sweating myself today i want
10
to journal journals a really big part of a self -care day for me
11
and i want to work out i think actually that's the first thing i'm gonna do
12
but to me what's more important than all of these things
13
combined is deleting my social media it can be really toxic to like constantly be going on
14
and you won't even realize it sometimes i just click on instagram and i don't even register what I'm doing.
15
So I'm gonna delete my apps first before I even like start anything and this is so relieving.
16
I used to do this when I was 13, 14.
17
I would delete my social media for a week at a time
18
and even then when I was like so much younger it made me feel so good.
19
So if you're feeling inspired after this or right now you should just do it for a day.
20
Just delete it for one day.
21
See how you feel.
22
if you need some convincing you should watch the documentary the social dilemma on netflix it's
23
so eye -opening that's the first step for me it's the
24
most important to me for out of all of these some days i just do this
25
and nothing else hopefully it inspires you to just like take
26
some time for yourself whether it's an hour a full day
27
whenever you can spare time it doesn't even have to involve
28
like spending money it can just be like going on a walk listening to your favorite song Getting a coffee for yourself.
29
The first thing i'm gonna do is go to the gym
30
get in a little workout For me mentally going to the gym has been
31
so helpful You guys know I used to like I barely stepped foot in a gym
32
and now the past year I've really gotten into working out
33
because I just feel
34
so much better after I work out mentally That's like the
35
number one reason it like changes my mood for the day
36
So i'm gonna go do a little workout right now and take you guys with me
37
i get bored easily when it comes to working out
38
so i like to always switch things up sometimes i'll do a workout class
39
that they have at my gym
40
or other times i'll just go on a walk outside
41
and then occasionally i like to follow a youtube video workout
42
thing i'm gonna link some of my favorite videos below
43
that in case you were looking for inspo they don't even
44
require weights i also need a new workout playlist actually i was just gonna say
45
that so if you guys have one that you'd be willing to share definitely please let me know
46
okay guys i just got out of the gym i want to say
47
that i feel better because this whole video is like a self -care video
48
but i actually like don't feel
49
that good i don't know why maybe i need to eat
50
but it was a really good workout i've been trying to run more
51
which i that's the only part of my workout i didn't
52
show i've been trying to work my way up i'm like
53
the worst runner ever i have no stamina i have no endurance
54
so my goal well i guess i don't have a specific goal for like how many miles
55
or time i want to run
56
but i'm just trying to improve now i'm at one of
57
my favorite restaurants recently it's called pure vita it's healthy they have like really good bowls
58
so i just ordered a chicken bowl
59
that comes with like peppers rice veggies yeah and i'm gonna eat so aesthetic in here
60
okay guys i ended up stopping at blank street to get a little matcha
61
which i i was gonna do a taste test
62
and then i'm sorry i forgot i got their new cookies
63
and cream matcha it was okay i think i rate it
64
like a seven now i'm gonna go to sephora i need
65
to pick up a couple things i know i need to get like shampoo and conditioner
66
and then i want to get some like self -care skincare stuff too for like face masks tonight
67
so i picked up a few random things i've been needing one of them being shampoo
68
and conditioner and then i did some extra shopping
69
that i definitely did not need to do
70
which i'll show you guys in my haul by the way i know i've asked you guys before
71
but if anyone has tried this red light therapy face mask please let me know it's just
72
so expensive so i need some people to tell me what they think target was my next stop
73
and these were a bit more essential things
74
that i was needing i'll also show you guys in my
75
haul you guys can probably guess my next stop aritzia there was no need for me to go in here
76
and i actually didn't buy anything this time so that was
77
good for me i have no closet space left the last
78
stop was a pedicure i had an appointment i actually got a fun pink color
79
which i never really do since i'm going on a little trip next week okay guys i didn't do
80
that much damage actually i was gonna say i just did some damage
81
and i really didn't i had self -control today i didn't yesterday as you can see by
82
that shopping bag i've been trying to be fiscally responsible bailey's
83
probably like just shut up just show me what you got bailey's my editor
84
if you guys didn't know that's why i keep saying
85
that okay so first thing i went to sephora i had a gift card to use actually
86
which also prompted me to do this my hair is
87
so fine let me just start with like a little bit of context
88
because my hair is so fine my hair gets oily
89
and greasy so fast i'm a wash your hair daily girl i know you're not supposed to do
90
that and for me one of my favorite shampoo and conditioners
91
that i like is the living proof full shampoo
92
and full conditioner this is specifically for people with fine
93
or thin hair which is me so i needed a restock of shampoo and conditioner
94
so i picked these up i also got a new brow
95
sculpt from refi this is their clear brow gel i like
96
to just put brow gel on after i fill in my brows
97
because otherwise my eyebrows kind of go crazy i love refi first of all i love their branding it's
98
so sleek it's
99
so clean girl i also got a refi lip gloss what i like about this gloss is
100
that it has a metal applicator
101
which sounds kind of like trivial it just has this cooling
102
effect with the metal tip i don't know the psychology behind why i like the fact
103
that it has a metal tip my last self -care stop was target
104
and i got super boring stuff there well i did get popsicles
105
which are already in my freezer
106
but i also got my favorite mouthwash ever this is the therabreath mouthwash i'm someone
107
that i brush my teeth probably four times a day
108
which you would think is a good thing
109
but i think it's i think i'm overdoing it i do think i'm overdoing it a little bit
110
and the reason i do that is
111
because i just like having fresh taste after i eat anytime i'm home
112
and like i've just eaten i always do that brush my teeth after
113
and i just think it's probably not the best to be brushing my teeth
114
that frequently so anyways moral of the story i got mouthwashed
115
because i think that's gonna be better instead of always brushing my teeth
116
and then i did get a toothbrush
117
because i'm going on a trip in a couple days to california
118
and i didn't want to bring my big electric one
119
that is everything kind of boring but definitely some necessary things
120
so i want to put on a little eye mask
121
and journal i have a massage later tonight oh wait i
122
didn't even show you guys my toes can i even do
123
that on here i'm like really scared there's my toenail polish okay that's all that's all
124
that we see anyways i'm gonna do a little eye mask i'm gonna journal
125
and then i have a massage late tonight
126
this is i want to say my favorite part of self -care doing my skincare at night journaling reading
127
and not having social media truly the best nights for me
128
consist of those things um i actually said i was gonna stop talking about this mug you saw
129
that i was about to say something and i was processing
130
and processing no the mug has had enough attention i made
131
my tea i've been really liking tea recently i didn't grow up really liking tea a ton
132
but i love the aveda tea
133
if you like a sweeter tea this one has like licorice in it
134
so good i am gonna do i think a little eye mask
135
and i also like using these eye patches sometimes to be
136
alone with your thoughts is intimidating i'm speaking for myself this is just for me
137
and i find myself kind of avoiding just like listening to myself i know this sounds really strange
138
but what i'm trying to say is being in like complete still silence is something
139
that i like would avoid or i just like wouldn't do necessarily
140
because i'd always have either my phone or i'd have music in
141
or i'd be watching a show and to just have no outside noise
142
and just being still truly i think is so important for everyone
143
and I found it also to be a valuable time for me to pray
144
and work on my relationship with God and just be present in myself
145
and just try to just like stop the constant noise like 24 7.
146
So guys I'm almost 25.
147
I can't even look at the camera.
148
Um clearly I need to work on that because I'm scared to turn 25.
149
No I'm not scared.
150
I think I don't I feel like like a lot of
151
people they don't love my birthday um i do i mean i like being with my friends
152
and family and celebrating but sometimes i get like really sad
153
and emotional on my birthday and then the next day i'm like completely fine
154
so i am actually very excited to turn 25
155
and step into like this new year in my mid 20s very proud of myself
156
and how much i've grown i would say in the past year honestly
157
and i do now believe what they've always said your brain fully forms once you're 25
158
and i i can't explain it
159
but i felt it i didn't like feel it all at once
160
or anything but over the past like three four
161
or five years looking back at how much mentally i've grown
162
i just feel like i have a more holistic perspective on things i i can't even explain it
163
but i get it and they always would say wait till you're 25
164
and your brain's fully developed but i understand now
165
and maybe i sound actually crazy if anyone has turned 25
166
and felt that please comment so i don't feel insane i'm saying this all
167
because i think i want to journal tonight and like reflect on 24
168
and like the things i've learned
169
and like lessons i've learned things i'm happy about things i'm not
170
so happy about
171
and that's kind of what i'm thinking for tonight i have
172
my eye mask on my jug i have my little journal all ready to go
173
okay guys I got a little carried away honestly
174
and I lost track of time
175
but I finished my journaling I thought about maybe doing like
176
a video about this of the 24 things I've learned at 24 I've seen people do videos like
177
that because I have so many things that I would love to share
178
but I think I should save it for a separate video maybe even like on Instagram
179
or something but I'm gonna get myself together go get ready
180
and go to my massage which I am
181
so excited today is a day of spoiling myself this is
182
not a typical day for me I just want you guys to know
183
that I'm gonna enjoy it
184
so let's get ready i just have to tell you guys
185
this was the best massage of my whole life i don't even remember half of it
186
because i fell asleep but the beginning was amazing this space is also
187
so cute it's called spencer's in soho and i loved it
188
so thank you to them that was my self -care day thank you guys
189
so much for watching i hope this is a reminder to
190
like prioritize your self -care i just want to reiterate you
191
really don't need to spend money for self -care days obviously this was
192
so nice and i'm
193
so lucky i was able to i would say the biggest
194
thing is even just like deleting your social media for a
195
day to clear your mind going on a walk whatever it is
196
but i love you guys thanks for watching and i'll see you in my next vlog bye guys
