The world of selling to businesses is truly distinct from the world of selling to consumers.
2
In the B2B space or selling to businesses,
3
there are a number of specific nuances that help top performers stand out in a absolutely critical way,
4
whereas those changes would have no effect in selling to consumers.
5
I almost think of them as secrets,
6
as that little secret sauce that leads those top sales performers to massive b2b sales success and
7
so in this video i'm going to show you the seven
8
insider secrets to b2b sales success check it out number one map out the entire sale
9
this is so important in the b2b selling space because
10
if you don't know how your entire sales process is going
11
to work you're going to be winging you're going to be all over the place
12
and the data shows that today's prospects in the b2b space are
13
so much savvier than they were just a few years ago these are people
14
that have multiple degrees oftentimes and they they're getting sold to all the time so
15
if you don't have a very clearly mapped out sales process
16
you're going to be haphazard you're gonna be bouncing around here you're gonna be going there
17
and it's going to ultimately lead to much lower results
18
so make sure
19
that you really have your entire sales process from how you're
20
engaging prospects how you're getting in front of them all the way through to how you're closing
21
and ultimately onboarding those prospects make sure that that whole process is clear so
22
that way you're not winging it you're not just bouncing around
23
all over the place number two attack your entry point we want to make sure
24
that we know exactly how we're going to enter into a prospective company
25
and this is very specific to the b2b space because of course
26
when you're selling to consumers there's only one
27
or two consumers in a family realistically but
28
when you're talking about a large enterprise
29
or even a small business there are oftentimes a lot of different key actors
30
that you can go into that company by starting that conversation with
31
or engaging in a conversation and
32
so we need to be very clear about who we're going to be starting with
33
and that comes down to very clearly clarifying who is your ideal prospect what's their title
34
what are the challenges that they face what industries are they in
35
and attack that entry point get very clear on who
36
that person is and go all in
37
and focus every single time at the prospect organization make sure
38
that you're going in at the right entry point not certainly not too low
39
and also not so high
40
that they're not even going to be relevant in the conversation you want to make sure
41
that you're selling typically at that kind of highest relevant level
42
and that's where you want to enter and that's where you want to attack.
43
Number three, provide real value.
44
This is a huge distinction from today's world of selling to even just a few years ago.
45
Nowadays, prospects really expect salespeople in the B2B space to provide real value in the selling conversation.
46
It's not enough to just have a great product or service, and it's not enough to just ask a couple of good questions.
47
We need to be establishing authority and expertise
48
and the best way to particularly be providing value upfront is
49
by providing prospects with insight you as a salesperson with your
50
experience having seen a number of different perspective companies in this
51
particular space have in really an amazing bird's -eye view of what's going on in the lives of your prospects
52
and in the lives of the folks that you're actually selling to
53
so what we want to make sure
54
that we do is we're providing insight upfront and ultimately using
55
that insight to engage people in conversations
56
and that's where we start to ask those questions to make sure
57
that they're ultimately a fit and
58
that they're really an organization where we can help solve the problems
59
that they have number four don't try to close this may
60
go counter to a lot of what we've heard over the years
61
and over our careers
62
but in the B2B space prospects are savvy they've been sold to many many times
63
and quite frankly they've probably been sold to a number of times just this past week
64
and so if we are using some cheesy transparent closing technique they're going to see
65
that from a mile away and
66
so the high -pressure closing techniques simply don't work anymore particularly in the b2b space
67
and so what we need to do
68
first establish our expertise engage prospects in conversations
69
and really understand what are those key challenges that they're facing
70
and then simply present a solution to those challenges
71
and then be focused on next steps afterwards there's no hardcore arm wrestling closing technique
72
but instead we're just showing that we have the right solution and letting
73
that conversation take care of itself drop the hardcore close instead
74
follow the right sales process to get you ultimately to
75
that close number five know their challenges this is
76
so important in the b2b space again buyers expect
77
that you understand them that you understand what's going on and
78
so this is really a two -part concept one is that
79
when we engage prospects in conversations we need to show
80
that we have some expertise
81
that we have some insight into what's going on in their world
82
but we also don't want to over assume
83
that we know everything that's going on in their world that's
84
silly of course you don't know everything that's going on in
85
their world you need to start to ask some questions to
86
find out what are those core challenges what's most important to them
87
so we start the conversation we engage them in the conversation by sharing some of the challenges
88
that we're seeing happening right now in their industry
89
and then we're basically saying which of those issues ring true most to you
90
and then they start to share those challenges
91
and that's where we start to dig more deeply to find
92
out what's really going on that's where we use our doctors
93
like approach to understand exactly what are the key issues
94
that are affecting their business
95
and then ultimately we're going to present a solution geared directly
96
to only those challenges number six know everyone involved the latest data shows
97
that the typical b2b particularly enterprise level sale has about seven key decision -makers
98
and so we can't just expect that even
99
if you're selling to the CEO of a company that
100
that person is going to just be able to pull the trigger make the decision
101
and move on it's not
102
that simple anymore most even high -level executives are trying to
103
get consensus around the decisions they make they're trying to build
104
that consensus so that way all the key people are on board
105
so that way when they move forward they know
106
that things are actually going to happen
107
and it's not just leadership by directive by force that's not how business works
108
so we need to understand every single person involved in
109
that decision and so we have to get really good at understanding what is
110
that entire decision -making process and who are all of those people
111
and how is making a decision going to affect their jobs
112
their worlds number seven always have clear next steps this is
113
so important that we are not walking away from any selling interaction without a very clear next step.
114
And let me be clear on what a clear next step is not.
115
It is not a clear next step to have it at the end of a sales meeting for the prospect to say, hey, you know what, why don't you follow up with me in two weeks?
116
And then you say, okay, sure, I'll follow up with you on Wednesday in two weeks.
117
How's that sound?
118
And they say, great.
119
That is not a clear next step.
120
A clear next step is that you get a scheduled call
121
or a scheduled face -to -face meeting
122
or a scheduled zoom meeting on the books in the calendar a calendar invite goes out from you
123
and they positively reply to that calendar invite
124
that is a clear next step at the end of every interaction with a prospect we want to make sure
125
that we budget a little bit of time in
126
that conversation to establishing clear next steps so that way we never have
127
that wishy -washy kind of well i think they're expecting me to call them
128
or they're going to call us
129
or they're going to shoot us an email none of
130
that there's always a very crystal clear next step
131
and it is scheduled in the calendar

Wörter und Redewendungen, die sich lohnen zu lernen

  • Insider Secrets: Geheimnisse, die nur erfahrene Fachleute kennen. "Die 'insider secrets' des B2B-Verkaufs helfen, erfolgreicher zu werden."
  • Wing it: Ohne Plan handeln. "Wenn du nicht deinen Verkaufsprozess planst, musst du 'wing it' – und das führt zu schlechteren Ergebnissen."
  • Attack your entry point: Den richtigen Einstiegspunkt im Unternehmen gezielt ansprechen.

Achte darauf, wie er Sätze wie "the data shows that today's prospects" flüssig verbindet (Liaison zwischen "shows that").
