Let's + verb, Don't + verb — להציע או להורות מה לעשות
1.צורה
הציווי מתחיל עם base form של הפועל וללא נושא (הכוונה היא ל-“אתם/ן”). שלילה: Don't + base form.

2.למה משתמשים בזה

3.איך להיות מנומסים יותר
ציווי באנגלית יכול להישמע ישיר מאוד. כדי לרכך אותו:
- להוסיף please בתחילת המשפט או בסופו: Please wait here. / Wait here, please.
- להוסיף just לפעולה קטנה או מהירה: Just sign here.
- להפוך את המשפט לשאלה כשמבקשים טובה: Could you open the window? (ראו את השיעור “Requests and offers”).
כשמדברים עם אנשים זרים, קולגות או המנהל/ת, עדיף להשתמש ב-“Could you…?” מאשר בציווי — אפילו אם מוסיפים please.
4.Let's: הצעה לעשות משהו יחד
Let's + base form (= let us) מזמין אחרים לעשות משהו יחד איתכם. שלילה: Let's not + base form.
Let's go for a walk.
בואו נצא להליכה.
Let's not argue about it.
בואו לא נתווכח על זה.
5.הוספת you להדגשה
לפעמים מוסיפים you כדי לחלק משימות או להדגיש: You wait here, I'll get the car. בלי טון ידידותי, זה עלול להישמע תקיף.
6.טעויות נפוצות
Not touch it!Don't touch it!
בשלילה משתמשים ב-don't.
Don't to open the door.Don't open the door.
לא מוסיפים to אחרי don't.
Don't be worry.Don't worry.
worry הוא פועל; לא צריך be.
Be not late.Don't be late.
השלילה של be גם משתמשת ב-don't.
