Present perfect continuous

Present Perfect Continuous = have / has + been + -ing। Been कभी नहीं बदलता; कर्ता के अनुसार सिर्फ़ have/has बदलता है।

💡तीनों हिस्से ज़रूरी हैं: have/has + been + -ing। आम चूकें: been छोड़ देना (I have working), been की जगह being लिखना (has being working), या -ing भूल जाना (has been learn)।

1. भूतकाल में शुरू हुआ काम जो अभी भी चल रहा है — अक्सर How long…?, for, since, all day के साथ

• It's been raining since lunchtime.

  दोपहर के खाने के समय से बारिश हो रही है।

• How long have you been learning English?

  आप कितने समय से अंग्रेज़ी सीख रहे हैं?

• Nam has been working for the same company since 2019.

  नाम 2019 से एक ही कंपनी में काम कर रहा है।

2. ऐसा काम जो अभी-अभी रुका है, और जिसका नतीजा अब भी दिख रहा है

• Your eyes are red. Have you been crying?

  तुम्हारी आँखें लाल हैं। क्या तुम रो रहे थे?

• Sorry I'm so sweaty — I've been running.

  माफ़ करना, मैं पसीने से तर हूँ — मैं दौड़ रहा था।

3. हाल में बार-बार किया जा रहा काम — lately, recently, these days के साथ

• I've been going to the gym a lot lately.

  आजकल मैं काफ़ी जिम जा रहा हूँ।

• Linh hasn't been sleeping well recently.

  लिन्ह को हाल में ठीक से नींद नहीं आ रही है।

Continuous रूप का ध्यान काम पर और उसके कितनी देर चलने पर होता है; Simple रूप का ध्यान नतीजे पर — क्या पूरा हुआ या हासिल हुआ।

• I've been reading this book for a week. I'm on page 90.

  मैं एक हफ़्ते से यह किताब पढ़ रहा हूँ। अभी पेज 90 पर हूँ। (खत्म नहीं हुई)

• I've read three books this month.

  मैंने इस महीने तीन किताबें पढ़ी हैं। (संख्या — खत्म हो चुकी)

• She's been writing emails all morning.

  वह सारी सुबह ईमेल लिखती रही है।

• She's written twelve emails this morning.

  उसने आज सुबह बारह ईमेल लिखे हैं।

💡जब आप कितना / कितने गिनते हैं (three books, twelve emails, How many…?) → आमतौर पर Simple रूप। जब आप कितनी देर बताते हैं (for two hours, all day, How long…?) → आमतौर पर Continuous रूप।

know, like, want, believe, belong, have (= मालिक होना) जैसी स्थिति बताने वाली क्रियाएँ आमतौर पर continuous रूप में नहीं आतीं, इसलिए कितनी देर बताते समय भी Present Perfect Simple लगाएँ।

• I've known Hoa since we were at school.

  मैं होआ को स्कूल के दिनों से जानता हूँ। (have been knowing नहीं)

• How long have you had your cat?

  आपकी बिल्ली आपके पास कब से है? (have = मालिक होना)

live, work, study, teach के साथ दोनों रूप सही हैं और अर्थ लगभग एक ही है। Continuous रूप ज़्यादा अस्थायी लग सकता है, Simple रूप ज़्यादा स्थायी।

• We've been living with my parents since March.

  हम मार्च से अपने माता-पिता के साथ रह रहे हैं। (अस्थायी)

• My grandparents have lived in this village all their lives.

  मेरे दादा-दादी सारी ज़िंदगी इसी गाँव में रहे हैं। (स्थायी)

Present Continuous सिर्फ़ यह बताता है कि कुछ हो रहा है। जैसे ही आप कितनी देर से जोड़ते हैं (for, since, How long…?), आपको Present Perfect Continuous चाहिए।

• We're waiting for the bus.

  हम बस का इंतज़ार कर रहे हैं।

• We've been waiting for the bus for forty minutes!

  हम चालीस मिनट से बस का इंतज़ार कर रहे हैं! (We are waiting … for forty minutes नहीं)

💡हिंदी में हम कहते हैं “मैं दो साल से अंग्रेज़ी सीख रहा हूँ” — क्रिया “सीख रहा हूँ” ही रहती है, इसलिए कई लोग “I'm learning English for two years” बोल देते हैं। लेकिन जैसे ही आप बताएँ कि कितनी देर से, अंग्रेज़ी में I've been learning English for two years चाहिए।

• ✗It is raining since this morning.

  ✓It has been raining since this morning.

  since → perfect tense लगाएँ।

• ✗I have been work here since 2020.

  ✓I have been working here since 2020.

  been + -ing।

• ✗He has being working on this project since March.

  ✓He has been working on this project since March.

  have/has + been, being नहीं।

• ✗I have been studying for this exam since three weeks.

  ✓I have been studying for this exam for three weeks.

  three weeks समय की अवधि है → for।

• ✗I've been knowing her for years.

  ✓I've known her for years.

  know स्थिति बताने वाली क्रिया है → Simple रूप।

• ✗Did you been exercising lately?

  ✓Have you been exercising lately?

  प्रश्न में have/has कर्ता से पहले आता है — did नहीं।
