38

39
And she doesn't want to be their friend.
40
Dumb.. uh.. honey...
41

42
Do you understand how dangerous that is?
43
She threw it at Jessica?

Been trying to get it for years.

72
Have we met before?
73
Oh, come on.
74
Are guys still using that line?
75
Is that like, still a thing?
76
What?
77
You've been eyeing me since the party started.
78
Well, yeah.
79
You looked familiar.
80
Haha, see?
81
Classic move.
82
Old but gold.
83
Hahaha.
84
Babe, what's so funny?
85
Jessica?
86
What the heck are you doing here?
87
Um, existing?
88
I'm here on a trip with my boyfriend.
89
I'm not some weirdo snake girl who flies across the world just to hang out with reptiles.
90
Take it easy, babe.
91

93
Ro-ser?

117
Babe, it's so humid out here.
118
You mean dangerous, yeah?
119
Ugh, fine.
120
I'll come with you.
121
No way I'm letting you wander off alone with that ogre.
122
I rolled my eyes, and the three of us started walking.
123
My eyes started itching, and Matthew told me they looked red.
124

125
It's so humid.
126
I swear, I just felt a bug crawl into my shoe.
127
Welcome to the wilderness, babe.
128

137
I'm sure that didn't happen.
138
Come on, Jess.
139
Yes, it did.
140
I remember because it was my 12th birthday that day.
141
Wait, why were you 12 in 5th grade?
142
Were you held back?
143
I saw your passport.
144
You're older than us.
145
She wasn't held back.
146
Some people just start school later than others.
147
Why are you defending her?
148
Because she's a helpless little weirdo who will jump at any chance to be my friend.
149
And fine, yes, I was held back.
150
There, I said it.
151
What now?
152
You gonna break up with me?
153
No, babe, I was just...
154
Save it.
155
I'd rather walk alone and get eaten by a wolf than spend another second with you and that snake perv.
156
Whoa!
157
Just then, Jessica fell into a trap.
158
A rope whipped around her ankle and yanked her up, leaving her dangling upside down midair.
159
Help!
160
Help!
161
What are you two idiots doing?
162
Sorry, babe.
163
Not you.
164
Her!
165
Say sorry to Rose first.
166
Matthew, listen.
167
The fact that there's a trap here suggests there might be hunters nearby.
168
Maybe we finally found someone.
169
Wait, I hear footsteps.
170
I'll be with you, Rose, after Jessica apologizes.
171
Come on, Jess.
172
I heard the footsteps getting closer.
173
Fast.
174
So I climbed up a fallen tree trunk, crawled along the branch hanging above Jessica, and started cutting the rope.
175
Barehanded.
176
Then, with my teeth.
177
Matthew, behind you!
178
I looked up.
179
A group of people stood there, dressed in what looked like traditional tribal gear.
180
They were watching us.
181
Their leader, a tall, stone-faced man, stepped forward.
182
Everyone went silent.
183
I awkwardly bit the rope one last time, and Jessica fell headfirst onto the ground with a thud.
184
Ouch!
185
And who are these people?
186
Are they gonna save us or eat us for dinner?
187
They didn't speak any English, and while Matthew tried to communicate with them, I noticed their leader staring at me.
188
Then he took a step closer, and just like that, the whole group went still.
189
He's looking at my snake tattoo.
190
Then he turned to his people and said something in a language I didn't recognize.
191
Suddenly, they bowed to me, like full-on prostrated.
192
The leader gave a signal.
193
Two of them came over, lifted me onto their shoulders, and started chanting something as they carried me away.
194
Matthew and Jessica followed in shocked silence.
195
What are they saying?
196
Sheik boko mayon kos laki fi.
197
I think he said, I like the cut of your jib, kid.
198
You got guts?
199
We were taken to the center of the tribe, where dozens of teepees circled around in open space.
200
The leader climbed onto a rock and gave what felt like a heartwarming speech.
201
I mean, it sounded heartwarming.
202
Then again, I had no idea what he was actually saying.
203
Once again, the entire tribe bowed down.
204
A few of them stepped forward carrying a wooden chair, decorated with ribbons and colorful fabrics.
205
They set it down, motioned for me to sit, and then lifted it up, carrying me like I was royalty.
206
Why are they treating her like she's their god?
207
They do think she's their god, Jessie.
208
All hail our goddess Rose.
209
I looked down at all these people, delighted to have me at Matthew's proud smile and Jessica's jealous glare.
210
And for the first time, I didn't see myself as an act of kindness or neglect or charity.
211
I saw myself as a gift to humanity.
212
Or maybe a god.
213
For starters, they placed me in a decorated teepee with round-the-clock security and women assigned to care for me.
214
bathed me in milk, washed my hair with oils that smelled like heaven, and fed me their best food.
215
Every evening before sunset, they paraded me through the village on my chair and set me down at the center, where people lined up to kiss my hand and touch my feet,
216
hoping for my blessings.
217
Matthew and Jessica were given a separate teepee, way out on the edge of the tribe.
218
I didn't speak to them for days.
219
I only saw them from afar, where Jessica looked visibly annoyed.
220
I knew they wanted to be saved, to go home, to call someone, but I figured that could wait.
221
Besides, it's not like I could communicate with the tribe very clearly anyway.
222
The tribe leader had a habit of presenting people to me during these blessing sessions.
223
One person each day, so I could examine them and decide if they were worthy or pure.
224
Naturally, I said yes to everyone.
225
Who was I to judge?
226
But one day, he brought me a young man, maybe in his early twenties.
227
As he got closer, I caught a whiff of something unpleasant.
228
Let's just say he didn't wipe well, I winced.
229
Just for a second.
230
It wasn't dramatic, just a face.
231
The leader's eyes widened immediately.
232
He turned to his men and made a gesture, sharp and fast.
233
Before I could say anything, they rushed in, grabbed the guy, and started dragging him He burst into tears,
234
trying to crawl back, begging, looking right at me.
235
He reached for my feet and cried harder.
236
I stood up, trying to stop them.
237
I stepped forward, blocking his path, trying to say something, anything.
238
But the leader suddenly turned toward me and placed his hand on my shoulder.
239
His eyes were cold, wide, steady.
240
I froze and just stood there watching them drag the crying men out of the clearing
241
and there was nothing I could do For the next few days.
242
I pretended to be sick.
243
So I wouldn't have to leave my bed I just wanted to avoid those blessing sessions altogether.
244
There was this girl who not I eventually learned her name She was assigned to be my personal assistant,
245
but really she was more like a babysitter She barely left my side, day and night.
246
Over time, I managed to learn a few words from her and teach her a few English ones too.
247
Of course, I had to keep up the I'm sick act the whole time.
248
You've been staring at the necklace for a while now, Hoona.
249
Do you like it?
250
I wish I could give it to you.
251
It's from my mom.
252
My biological mom, actually.
253
She gave it to me when I was six, and even though I was too young to understand it back then, I remember thinking it was strange that my aunt would give me something so expensive.
254
Oh, sorry, that's confusing.
255
She was my aunt back then.
256
When I turned 10, I found out she was actually my biological mother.
257
She'd given me to her sister, my aunt, because she was poor and already had three kids, and her sister couldn't have any.
258
I was angry and confused that day, but somehow, I ended up pulling this necklace out of the drawer and putting it on.
259
And ever since then, I haven't taken it off.
260
Una didn't respond.
261
She just kept staring at the necklace.
262
Sorry, girl, I can't give you this one.
263
But here, take this bracelet.
264
It's from Target, but it's cute.
265
I'll give you the other bracelet if you like and subscribe and interact with this video, so more people can see it and I become more famous.
266
Una gave me a side eye, but took the bracelet anyway.
267
Just then, the leader barged in.
268
He looked furious.
269
Without saying a word, he grabbed Huna and pulled her to her feet.
270
He started scolding her and pointing at me.
271
My guess was that he figured out I was faking being sick and that Huna was covering for me.
272
He tried to drag her out.
273
I panicked.
274
I didn't want her to get in trouble, especially not for me.
275
I jumped up to stop him.
276
The moment he saw me on my feet, his eyes widened.
277
He shouted even louder at Huna.
278
And I don't know what came over me, but I slapped him.
279
He froze, stunned.
280
For a few seconds, no one moved.
281
Then he just turned around and walked out.
282
Huna, I'll give you the necklace, but you've got to help me with something.
283
Eventually, I managed to explain, at least partly, that I needed her to sneak Matthew and Jessica over to me.
284
She looked hesitant, but after I gave her the necklace and pleaded for what felt like hours, she finally reluctantly agreed.
285
That night, just before dawn, she stuffed them into the giant bags they usually use to carry firewood and placed the cart near my teepee's entrance.
286
Matthew and Jessica snuck in quietly.
287
You better get us out of here before I kick your butt, you little miserable smackhead.
288
I wouldn't use miserable here, Jess.
289
In case you haven't noticed, she's literally a god here.
290
She's still a stupid loser to me.
291
And don't you ever defend her again.
292
You did it before and you're doing it now.
293
I'm warning you, Matthew.
294
What are you gonna do, Jessica?
295
We're stuck in the middle of some weird cult tribe and this is what you're focused on?
296
Belittling Rose?
297
What has she ever actually done to you?
298
It's okay, Matthew.
299
Thanks.
300
But let's just focus.
301
We need to figure out how we're getting out of here.
302
Oh, now you care about us?
303
Do you have any idea what we've been through?
304
We wake up at dawn, get sent to the mountains to hunt, whatever that means, and then we're out in the fields all afternoon.
305
All we get to eat is plain rice and dry corn, while you're here eating fish and meat and bathing in milk like some freaking goddess.
306
You're letting this whole thing get to your head.
307
Maybe because deep down, you know how worthless and dirty you are just a smug little snake-loving mutt.
308
Jessica, enough!
309
Cut it out, alright?
310
Hoona sensed something was wrong.
311
She stepped in, trying to gesture for Jessica to calm down.
312
Oh, what do you want now?
313
Instead of standing there like some useless statue, why don't you go fetch us something decent to eat, huh?
314
Food!
315
Stomach!
316
Hunger!
317
Food!
318
Food!
319
Food!
320
You hear that?
321
She shoved Hoona toward the entrance.
322
Matthew rushed to stop her.
323
I'm tired.
324
I want to go home.
325
I miss my bed so bad.
326
It's okay.
327
Calm down.
328
Rose will help us figure this out.
329
She's an idiot.
330
She never does anything right.
331
She killed my brother.
332
Yeah, she did.
333
You didn't know that, huh?
334
We were best friends, Rose, for 10 years.
335
And then that night, you showed up crying, pouring rain, screaming about your mom, aunt, whatever.
336
My brother, he came running down to check what was going on, and he tripped over you!
337
Yeah, she was lying on the floor crying because she's that dramatic.
338
He just had surgery, okay?
339
He wasn't supposed to fall.
340
Now he's in a coma, and every time I see you smiling and pretending like it didn't happen, I see him lying there.
341
You didn't just ruin our friendship, you ruined everything!
342
Jess, that's not fair.
343
You can't blame her for that.
344
I'm sure Rose is sorry.
345
God knows how sorry I am.
346
I think about it every single night.
347
I've said I'm sorry more times than I can count.
348
Yeah?
349
Look how sorry you are.
350
Getting pampered like royalty while we rot out there.
351
You and your crocodile tears.
352
I'll never forgive you.
353
I'm sorry.
354
I'm sorry.
355
I'm sorry.
356
I was crying hard.
357
That incident never left me me.
358
It came right after I found out about my mom and aunt, and then Jessica completely cut me off.
359
She hated me, made sure everyone else did too.
360
That's when I started isolating, when I got more into snakes.
361
They didn't judge.
362
I took a shaky step forward, trying to reach out, maybe just to plead, but Jessica looked at me with pure disgust.
363
Then she spat on me.
364
Don't you dare touch me.
365
Touch me, you pathetic little freak!
366
She stormed off.
367
Matthew tried to whisper shout after her, but she was already gone.
368
He followed a second later.
369
I stood there, wiped her spit off my cheek, and blinked my last tear away.
370
The next day, during the blessing ceremony, the leader brought forward a few villagers like usual But I didn't even look at them.
371
I shook my head.
372
He stopped looking confused I scanned the crowd then slowly I raised my hand
373
and pointed at Jessica the crowd turned to look at her
374
Jessica didn't move her eyes locked on mine wide and panicked her face went pale You wouldn't dare, Rose.
375
The leader ordered his men to bring her forward.
376
She didn't resist.
377
She walked with them.
378
Calm.
379
Composed.
380
Almost proud.
381
When she got closer, she looked straight into my eyes.
382
Cold.
383
Like she was daring me.
384
What are you going to do, Rose?
385
So now I'm just Rose?
386
Not a pathetic loser anymore?
387
She didn't say a word.
388
Just stared.
389
Stared but her eyes were saying do the right thing I looked at the leader
390
and gave the signal to take her away No, please stop Rose tell them to stop he tried to run toward us
391
But a few of the men held him back as Jessica walked away silently without a fight
392
Never once looking back that night.
393
I sat in my teepee with the worst headache of my life My eyes were burning.
394
I had already kicked Huna out because I needed a break.
395
Some rest without someone hovering around me like I was prey.
396
Just then, Huna tiptoed back in, dragging Matthew by the ear.
397
O baki hena me!
398
Shoko mu hene!
399
Matthew, why were you outside walking around my teepee?
400
Do you know how dangerous that is?
401
Good evening, Rose.
402
Couldn't have a bad one if I tried.
403
I needed to talk to you and I didn't know how.
404
Ow!
405
Seriously, tell her to let go of my ear!
406
If you're here to talk about Jessica, save it.
407
She got what she deserved.
408
I've been silent enough.
409
I get your pain, I really do, but she's been through a lot too.
410
I mean, I wanted to break up with her, but ow!
411
What is her hand made of, metal?
412
It's okay, Hoona.
413
You can let go of his ear now.
414
I was gonna break up with her before the trip, but her dad asked me to wait.
415
He's a friend of my dad's.
416
Said she wasn't doing well.
417
That this trip might help.
418
Her therapist thought nature would fix things, I guess.
419
She's all he's got.
420
I just wanted to get her back safe.
421
All of us.
422
Who and who?
423
Come on, Rose.
424
Show empathy.
425
Her going through stuff doesn't mean everyone else has to suffer for it.
426
Her therapist should have taught her not to be a jerk, not to go out and connect with the trees.
427
Now, if you don't mind, it's time for my nap.
428
Hoona pushed him toward the exit.
429
Wait, wait, Hoona, right?
430
Here, I picked this flower for you.
431
Thought it looked cool.
432
I've never seen anything like it.
433
Hoona clutched her chest, visibly touched, then promptly threw the flower away.
434
Shukuri!
435
It's poisonous, you idiot.
436
Now get out.
437
Hoona gave him one last glare and dragged him out.
438
That night, we had one of the biggest ceremonies yet.
439
A celebration marking the Night of Arrival.
Một buổi lễ kỷ niệm đánh dấu Đêm Đến.
440
A sacred tradition passed through generations, where they believed a god would descend from the sky to guide them.
441
Apparently, I was that god.
Rõ ràng là tôi chính là vị thần đó.
442
At one point, I noticed a kid staring at me with.. hatred?
443
It was the first time I'd seen that kind of look directed at me here.
444
Huna caught the tension.
Huna cảm nhận được sự căng thẳng.
445
From what I could gather, the man they dragged away during the last blessing was his father.
446
I was so tired of people blaming me for things that were completely out of my control.
447
I mean, I was sorry it happened, but it wasn't my fault.
448
Not really.
Không hẳn vậy.
449
So I stuck my tongue out at the kid.
Vậy là tôi đã thè lưỡi ra với đứa bé đó.
450
He hid behind his mom.
451
A few moments later, the men came to carry my chair for some ritual.
452
They lifted me high into the center of the gathering.
Họ nâng tôi lên cao và đặt vào giữa đám đông đang tụ tập.
453
Some people cheered, others bowed, and as I sat above them all, I felt it.
454
No matter what I did, they would keep worshipping me.
Dù tôi có làm gì đi nữa, họ vẫn sẽ tiếp tục tôn thờ tôi.
455
Even that boy from earlier had been pushed forward by his mom to join the celebration.
456
Funny how I was someone's discarded kid.
Thật trớ trêu thay, tôi lại từng là đứa trẻ bị ai đó vứt bỏ.
457
Now I'm someone's god.
Bây giờ tôi là thần của một ai đó.
458
I still don't know which one hurts more.
459
The boy stared straight at me.
Cậu bé nhìn thẳng vào tôi.
460
Then he pointed behind him.
461
I followed the direction he pointed, half expecting nothing.
462
But then, completely unrelated, I saw a glow.
463
The glow was faint at first, but it quickly grew into visible flames, rising higher and spreading fast through the dark.
Ban đầu ánh sáng chỉ mờ nhạt, nhưng nhanh chóng bùng lên thành ngọn lửa rõ ràng, càng lúc càng cao và lan nhanh khắp nơi trong bóng tối.
464
I raised my hand and pointed, and the music slowly faded as people turned to look.
465
Then came the gasps, and the shouting followed soon after.
466
Panic broke out, and someone rushed to carry me away to safety.
467
The next morning, smoke still hung in the air.
468
Half the village was reduced to skeletons of ash and cinder.
469
And yet, no one cried.
Tuy nhiên, không ai khóc.
470
Instead, they moved with an eerie calm, lining up in silence, carrying the last of their grain,
471
jewelry, hand-carved trinkets, all for me.
472
For their goddess.
Vì nữ thần của họ.
473
Children clutched burned dolls.
474
Old women limped barefoot across blackened earth, as if none of it mattered.
475
As long as I was safe, they would have done anything I asked.
Chỉ cần tôi được an toàn, họ sẽ làm bất cứ điều gì tôi yêu cầu.
476
Anything.
Bất cứ điều gì.
477
And for a second, I didn't hate that.
478
That scared me more than the fire.
Điều đó làm tôi sợ hãi hơn cả ngọn lửa.
479
How can I be a goddess if I can't even help them?
480
I'm just an idiot, like Jessica always says.
481
I attract chaos everywhere I go.
Tôi đi đến đâu là hỗn loạn kéo đến đó.
482
The leader had dragged me away the moment he saw the flames.
483
While others burned, he made sure I was untouched.
484
Untouched and adored.
Nguyên vẹn và được yêu chiều.
485
Now, he stood beside me, perfectly clean, arms folded like nothing had happened.
486
Why aren't they… why isn't anyone upset?
487
Just then, the leader spotted a woman near the back of the line, clutching something under her clothing.
488
His face darkened.
Khuôn mặt anh ấy sầm lại.
489
He barked something in his language and pointed at her.
Anh ta la lên một câu gì đó bằng ngôn ngữ của mình và chỉ vào cô ấy.
490
She froze, then slowly stepped forward, shaking.
491
From beneath her clothing, she pulled out a small bundle of dried herbs and placed it at my feet.
492
Her child clung to her side, coughing quietly.
493
No, keep it.
Không, giữ lại đi.
494
It's yours.
Nó là của bạn.
495
You need it for your child.
Bạn cần thứ đó cho con của bạn.
496
I tried to hand it back, but the leader yanked it from my hands and gave it to his men.
497
He pointed at my hair, then nodded approvingly, muttering something about the herbs, as if they were meant for me.
498
As if some miracle hair treatment was more important than a sick child.
499
What is wrong with you?
Bạn bị sao thế?
500
These people lost everything, and all you care about is them giving me things?
Những người này đã mất tất cả, và tất cả những gì bạn quan tâm là họ đưa đồ cho tôi?
501
What am I gonna do with all this stuff?
Tôi sẽ làm gì với đống đồ này hết?
502
What kind of leader are you?
503
Just then, I spotted Jessica in the crowd and ran to her.
504
Are you okay?
Bạn ổn chứ?
505
Why do you care?
Sao bạn lại quan tâm vậy?
506
If you must know, I was assigned to clean the poop hole.
Nếu bạn nhất định muốn biết, tôi được phân công dọn cái lỗ đi vệ sinh.
507
Guess the fire saved me thought fire could be a blessing, but here we are.
508
We need to find a way off this island, Rose.
Chúng ta cần tìm cách rời khỏi hòn đảo này, Rose.
509
I know, but we can't just leave them like this.
510
We have to help them.
Chúng ta phải giúp họ.
511
Well, gee, isn't that wonderful?
Trời ơi, tuyệt vời quá nhỉ?
512
Help yourself first, Rose.
Cứ tự nhiên đi, Rose.
513
Before I could respond, the leader started shouting orders, telling the villagers to rebuild.
514
No rest, no mourning, just obedience.
515
First we were asking how we'd survive the jungle.
Lúc đầu chúng tôi đang tự hỏi làm thế nào để sống sót qua khu rừng rậm.
516
Now I'm wondering how we survive him.
Bây giờ tôi đang tự hỏi làm thế nào chúng ta có thể sống sót qua được anh ta.
517
His men approached me again.
518
I knew what that meant.
519
Back to the teepee.
Quay lại cái lều teepee.
520
Back to playing goddess.
Quay lại với vai nữ thần.
521
I didn't resist.
Tôi đã không chống cự.
522
I just walked silently, trying to figure out how the heck we were going to get out of here.
523
That night, I sat in my teepee, waiting for Huna to sneak in Matthew and Jessica.
524
But just then, I heard voices outside.
525
I peeked through the fabric and saw the leader
526
and several villagers gathered tense
527
and Angry in the center was Huna the leader was holding
528
my mom's necklace They must have found out she had it and assumed she stole it, but why wouldn't they ask me first?
529
Why jump to punishment?
Tại sao lại vội vàng áp dụng hình phạt?
530
That was it.
Chỉ có vậy thôi.
531
I stormed out
Tôi bực mình đi ra ngoài
532
and pushed through the crowd I grabbed the leader by the horned band on his head and stared down at him Everyone?
và lướt qua đám đông, tôi tóm lấy chiếc băng sừng trên đầu kẻ cầm đầu và nhìn chằm chằm xuống hắn. Còn mọi người thì sao?
533
He's not pure.
Anh ta không trong sạch.
534
I don't give him my blessing.
Tôi không ban phước cho anh ta.
535
Take him away.
Đưa hắn đi.
536
Why are you looking at me like that?
Sao anh nhìn tôi thế kia?
537
I said, take him.
Tôi đã nói, bắt hắn đi.
538
But no one moved.
Nhưng không ai cử động.
539
They all looked down.
Tất cả họ đều cúi nhìn xuống.
540
And then, quietly, so did he.
541
His chin dipping just slightly.
542
Like he'd expected this.
543
Like he knew they would choose him over me.
Như thể anh ấy biết họ sẽ chọn anh ấy thay vì tôi.
544
Even now.
Ngay cả bây giờ.
545
So who do you fear now?
Vậy bây giờ bạn sợ ai?
546
God or man?
Chúa hay con người?
547
I walked over to Huna and helped her to her feet.
Tôi bước tới chỗ Huna và giúp cô ấy đứng dậy.
548
And for a second, everyone just watched, waiting for me to lead, to fix it.
549
The weight of it hit me all at once, and it made me realize something.
550
Maybe my biological mom didn't give me away because she didn't love me.
Có lẽ mẹ ruột của tôi đã không bỏ rơi tôi vì bà ấy không yêu tôi.
551
Maybe she was just overwhelmed, trying to survive with more than she could carry.
552
I used to hate her for that, but now, faced with such a big responsibility to help Hoona and the others,
553
I finally understood how overwhelming it could be.
554
And I was going to make a different choice.
555
I wasn't walking away.
Tôi đã không bỏ đi.
556
Inside, Matthew and Jessica were already waiting.
557
Hey, Hoona!
Này, Hoona!
558
Looking lovely today!
Trông bạn hôm nay thật đáng yêu!
559
Anyway, Rose, we found a boat on the shore.
560
It looks solid, newly built.
Trông nó chắc chắn, mới được xây dựng xong.
561
Since everyone's busy rebuilding the village, we figured we could take it.
Vì mọi người đều đang bận rộn xây dựng lại ngôi làng, chúng tôi nghĩ là mình có thể lấy nó.
562
Tonight, get ready.
Đêm nay, hãy sẵn sàng.
563
And leave everyone?
Và bỏ lại tất cả mọi người sao?
564
With that jerk still in charge?
565
You didn't seem to mind when he was pampering you.
566
Yeah, and you're really making it hard for me to regret punishing you.
567
She rolled her eyes.
Cô ấy lướt mắt.
568
Anyway, you guys can go.
Dù sao thì các bạn cũng có thể đi rồi.
569
Try to get help.
Cố gắng tìm sự giúp đỡ.
570
Sounds like I'm the only one who can stop that man from hurting more people.
571
I'm their god, remember?
572
I'm safe.
Tôi an toàn rồi.
573
Just then, Huna reached over and squeezed my hand.
574
Father.
Cha.
575
Leader.
Người dẫn đầu.
576
Wait, he's your father?
Khoan đã, anh ấy là cha của bạn à?
577
Wow.
Ồ trời.
578
This man just keeps giving.
579
Huna gestured for us to wait and slipped outside.
580
Five minutes later, she returned with folded clothes, disguises.
581
We changed quickly and followed her out.
582
We walked through the woods in silence for about 20 minutes.
Chúng tôi đi bộ xuyên qua khu rừng trong im lặng khoảng 20 phút.
583
Remind me again, why are we following this primitive girl deep into the jungle?
584
What if she's leading us to be sacrificed?
Sẽ ra sao nếu cô ấy đang dẫn chúng ta đến chỗ bị hy sinh?
585
Let's go back, guys.
Các bạn ơi, quay lại thôi.
586
I mean, this place is messed up enough.
Ý tôi là, nơi này đã đủ rối tung rồi.
587
Even for you, Rose.
Kể cả với em, Rose.
588
They think I'm something sacred.
589
Like a spirit their ancestors waited for.
Như một linh hồn mà tổ tiên của họ đã chờ đợi.
590
The tattoo, the crash, the timing, it all fits some old legend, I guess.
591
Yeah, plus those weird red-green eyes and your olive skin.
Ừ, thêm vào đó là đôi mắt đỏ-xanh lá kỳ lạ và làn da ô liu của bạn nữa.
592
I mean, you're also like, goddess-level beautiful.
Ý tôi là, cậu cũng đẹp đến mức như nữ thần vậy.
593
Ahem.
Ừm.
594
Hahaha.
Hahaha.
595
Whoa!
Ôi trời!
596
Look at that!
Nhìn kìa!
597
We had arrived.
Chúng ta đã đến nơi rồi.
598
In front of us was a hidden stash.
599
Crates of food, piles of fruit, and even gold.
600
Not a few coins, but full chunks and trinkets, all hoarded by the leader, probably taken from the people or gathered during raids.
601
I wasn't even sure if he knew what gold was, or just kept it because it looked shiny.
602
We need to leave tonight.
Chúng ta phải rời đi tối nay.
603
If we make it to the mainland, maybe we can bring help, especially if we tell them about this.
604
Smart thinking showing us this spot, Hoona.
605
Hoona blushed, smiling shyly.
Hoona đỏ mặt, mỉm cười một cách ngại ngùng.
606
Jessica rolled her eyes and ran toward the pile, stuffing gold into her pockets.
607
If I'm gonna die in the ocean, I might as well die rich.
608
I'm staying.
Tôi sẽ ở lại.
609
I'll help these people.
Tôi sẽ giúp những người này.
610
Or die trying.
Hoặc là chết trong lúc cố gắng.
611
Just then, I spotted something.
Ngay lúc đó, tôi phát hiện ra một thứ gì đó.
612
Movement.
Chuyển động.
613
A snake slithering behind Jessica.
614
I lunged, grabbed it, and flung it into the woods.
615
It was right behind you.
Nó ở ngay đằng sau bạn.
616
Are you okay?
Bạn ổn chứ?
617
Yeah, yeah.
Ừ, ừ.
618
I'm okay.
Tôi ổn.
619
Thanks, Rose.
Cảm ơn, Rose.
620
I gave her a small, tired nod.
Tôi gật đầu nhẹ nhàng, mệt mỏi với cô ấy.
621
Come on, let's move.
Nào, đi thôi.
622
We've got some escaping to do.
Chúng ta phải trốn thoát thôi.
623
Why are you so excited about this?
624
You do realize it's not one of your yacht trips, right?
625
Yeah, and I was sent to jungle camps before I even learned how to shave.
626
My dad called it character building, character, and mosquito bites.
627
We get it.
Chúng tôi hiểu rồi.
628
You're rich but humble.
Bạn giàu có nhưng rất khiêm tốn.
629
Very Disney prince of you.
Bạn thật giống một hoàng tử Disney.
630
The three of us laughed, and we kept walking toward the shore.
Ba người chúng tôi cười lên, rồi tiếp tục đi về phía bờ biển.
631
Are you guys sure about this?
632
More than ever.
Hơn bao giờ hết.
633
And I want to say something.
Và tôi muốn nói một điều.
634
I think I'm sorry for blaming you all these years.
635
Look at me now, facing death and holding on to the thing that kept me bitter.
Nhìn tôi bây giờ đây, đối mặt với cái chết và vẫn ôm chặt lấy thứ đã khiến tôi cay đắng suốt thời gian qua.
636
Great speech.
Bài phát biểu tuyệt vời.
637
Now let's move on, babe.
Bây giờ chúng ta tiếp tục nhé em yêu.
638
Don't babe me.
Đừng gọi tôi là em yêu.
639
I know you've been planning to leave me since forever.
Tôi biết từ rất lâu rồi bạn đã định rời xa tôi.
640
Just waited because you felt sorry for me.
Chỉ đợi thôi vì anh thấy thương cho em.
641
Pray I don't kill you on the way.
642
Or maybe I will.
Hay là có lẽ tôi sẽ làm vậy.
643
Therapy is all about release, right?
644
Hey, Hoona, take care, all right?
645
And then, to everyone's surprise, Hoona hugged him.
646
What was that?
Cái gì thế?
647
Seriously, what was that?
Nghiêm túc mà nói, cái gì vừa xảy ra vậy?
648
What can I say?
Tôi có thể nói gì bây giờ?
649
Everyone loves me, tribal or not.
650
The next morning, I didn't wait for anyone to carry me out.
651
I stepped out of my teepee on my own, hair tied up, eyes tired, but clear.
652
The sky was still gray with ash, but the smell of smoke had dulled overnight.
Bầu trời vẫn còn xám xịt tro bụi, nhưng mùi khói đã nhạt đi qua đêm.
653
All around me, people were back to working, repairing what they could with what little they had.
654
They didn't look up when I passed.
655
No one bowed.
Không ai cúi đầu.
656
Maybe they were tired of pretending.
Có lẽ họ đã mệt mỏi với việc giả vờ.
657
Maybe I was too.
Có lẽ tôi cũng vậy.
658
I walked up to the group building a new shelter frame and rolled up my sleeves.
659
Where do I start?
Tôi nên bắt đầu từ đâu?
660
Before anyone could answer, the leader stormed over, his expression tight.
