We are briefly interrupting programming to bring

you this devastating breaking news out of Palm Beach County where

nine people are dead after a plane crashed in a Green Acres neighborhood creating a fiery scene out there.

Yeah, we need to go live to that scene.

We have local 10's

Brett Neese and he has new video and is also bringing us all the details about what happened with this plane crash. And JC

and Sonnella are working to learn as much information as we

can as this investigation plays out in real time here on South Military Trail in Palm Beach County.

I'm going to step out of the way, show you what the scene looks like at this current moment.

There are law enforcement of every kind, every type of first responder here on the scene.

You can see them.

They are lined up and down this road.

There is a good couple of blocks that are blocked off right now where this crash happened.

It all happened just before 1 p .m.

We have some brand new video into the newsroom to show you what the aftermath looks like.

It is unbelievable.

It is unfathomable to see some of this video.

And the crash is a Learjet 60, according to officials.

This is a private jet that was leaving Austin, Texas.

It was on its way to the Bahamas

when it rapidly descended from a little over 30 ,000 feet straight into the ground.

I mean, it is unbelievable.

It is hard to describe some of what this looks like out here.

Of course, this is now several hours since this happened.

When this happened, the crash itself did knock out power to a number of homes here in this community.

Sadly, we do know all nine people that were on that plane, they died in this crash.

We are working to learn if there were any injuries on the ground.

We're also working to learn more information about how this could have even happened.

And the NTSB is sending a team out here right now, and they'll have even more team members out here in the morning.

This investigation only just beginning.

Governor DeSantis was out here pretty quickly.

He was in the area when all of this took place, and he spoke with the media a short while ago.

Take a listen.

You know, it's a jarring thing.

It was like a missile coming down and a massive explosion, debris going everywhere

and to have those people on board is really a tragic way to see people pass away.

So we should offer our thoughts and prayers with their family.

And it is the description that

Governor DeSantis just gave you there.

It was like a missile going straight into the ground you can see the crater that was left behind from the impact.

We're working to learn from some of these investigators just how fast this plane would have been going at its impact.

We're also working to learn some more information about what went wrong up in the air a little over 30 ,000 feet.

We of course have been dealing with weather all day long here in South Florida and on the ground, it's about 80 degrees all day long.

But when this happened, this plane is over 30 ,000 feet in the air.

It is a whole different climate up there where this plane would have been flying through some of this turbulent weather.

And we're working to learn, was weather a factor in this?

Is this, was some of the weather conditions up at that altitude,

did that impact some of the mechanical pieces and the components of this plane that caused it to rapidly descend.

We also have heard some of the air traffic control audio.

It is devastating to listen to the pilot trying to navigate this situation.

At one point saying that the plane was falling at about 20 ,000 feet per minute.

I mean it was falling very quickly and this really is just a devastating tragedy.

About 600 people are going to be relocated.

This all happened just outside of a mobile home park here on South Military Trail in the Green Acres community.

And about 600 people are going to have to be relocated while this investigation unfolds.

This scene is going to be out here for a couple of days.

They have all kinds of equipment out here as they start to piece this together, pick up some of the debris,

and really start to learn how something like this could have happened.

That military trail is a major thoroughfare in Palm Beach County.

We know that that crater in the roadway is going to have that area,

southbound lanes, at least shut down for some time for the foreseeable future.

Is there an alternate for those that can take?

What's the situation looking like there on the roadway?

Because it's an intense scene behind you there.

Yeah, there are definitely a number of different roads that run parallel to this.

Military trail runs parallel to I -95.

It's just to the west.

And so there are a number of other options for those that live in this area.

But this is a couple of blocks that they have blocked off here,

and it will stay that way as they continue to bring in more investigators, more equipment, and really piece this whole thing together.

They're going to try to work to learn as much as possible.

The NTSB is going to come in.

They're going to try to find and locate the black box and learn exactly what the conditions were for this plane,

all the different mechanics, all of those different details.

They will be able to use all of

that information to piece together why this could have happened and how something just so horrible took place here this afternoon.

Nine dead, 600 displaced.
