Bobby, how are you?

Hi, how you doing?

Good.

So tell me, what's going on with you musically?

Well, we have a new project called Over the Rainbow, which is Joe Lynn Turner, myself, Tony Carey, Greg Smith,

and Juergen Blackmore, Richie Blackmore's son on guitar.

And it's all old

Rainbow guys and Richie's son.

And we're going to start touring in Russia in February, Japan in April, May, and everywhere else soon after.

How does it feel to still be doing music all these years?

Is it still the same feeling as when you first started?

It's actually better.

I think I appreciate it more now that I'm 27.

You know, I appreciate it more now that I'm older, you know, realize how fortunate I am to be still playing music, you know.

Now you probably influence others, but who influenced you?

Guys like Ginger Baker, Carmine Apathy, Buddy Rich, you know, those were my first.

Mitch Mitchell, my, you know, my earliest influences, you know.

And I still love those guys, still love the way they play.

Is this a lifelong dream, something you've always wanted to do?

Yeah, yeah, always, always wanted to play drums.

I started on guitar because my parents figured it was quieter.

We lived in the city, you know, but switched to drums pretty soon afterwards.

I just want to ask you, what do you do for fun when you're not making music?

When I'm not making music, you know, I'm a knife collector.

I collect weird things.

I'm a drum collector.

Um, I hang out with my friends and my wife and family.

What made you want to collect knives?

You know, sometimes you've got to peel an apple or cut a box.

I don't know.

It's a very primitive tool.

Drummers sometimes like primitive things, and a knife is a primitive tool, you know?

I guess I learn something new all the time.
