Welcome back English practicer.
2
How you doing?
3
Are you ready to do some English speaking?
4
Let's practice.
5
Let's practice some conversational English about transportation.
6
Alright, we're going to be talking about buses, trains, and cars.
7
You know, it's a daily part of city life.
8
So it's good to practice.
9
Let's imagine you're at a bus stop and someone asks you, Do you know when the next bus arrives? Do you?
10
Do you know when the next bus arrives?
11
At a basic level, you might say, in 10 minutes.
12
That's really basic, right?
13
But let's go a little bit higher.
14
With the next level, you could say, I think the next bus should arrive in about 10 minutes, but sometimes it comes a little late during rush hour.
15
Yeah, add more information to it.
16
Let's say this together, shall we?
17
I think the next bus should arrive in about 10 minutes, but sometimes it comes a little late during rush hour.
18
Did you catch the flow?
19
Let's try again.
20
I think the next bus should arrive in about 10 minutes, but sometimes it comes a little late during rush hour.
21

22
Here's another thing we could say.
23
I'm not completely sure, but according to the schedule, it should be here around at,
24
let's not forget, at, around 315.
25
All right, I'm not completely sure, but according to the schedule, it should be here at around 315.
26
You want to say it with me?
27
Here we go.
28
I'm not completely sure, but according to the schedule, it should be here at around 315.
29
Again, I'm not completely sure, but according to the schedule, it should be here at around 315.
30
It should be here at around 315.
31
All right, good job.
32
Here's another example.
33
Imagine you're in a taxi and the driver asks, where would you like to go?
34
Where would you?
35
Where would you like to go?
36
Instead of just saying Downtown.
37
Downtown.
38
Please.
39
You can say, I'd like to go downtown near Main Street.
40
Close to the library, please.
41
I'd like to go downtown near Main Street.
42
Close to the library, please.
43
I'd like to go downtown near Main Street.
44
Close to the library, please.
45
Close to the library.
46

47

48
Or, could you take me to the central train station near the North entrance?
49
I need to catch a train at 6 o'clock.

51
I need to catch a train at 6 o'clock.
52
1 more, Could you take me to the central train station near the North entrance?
53
I need to catch a train at 6 o'clock.
54
Now, imagine we're driving together in my car and I ask, where would to go?
55
You answer.
56
I'm thinking of somewhere with a nice view and good coffee.
57
Maybe a cozy cafe by the river where we can just relax and talk for a while.
58
All right, I'm going to say that two times, follow along, try to say it with me.
59
I'm thinking of somewhere with a nice view and good coffee.
60
Maybe a cozy cafe by the river where we can just relax and talk for a while.

Anywhere quiet is fine with me.
72
Maybe a park or somewhere by the water, where we can walk and get some fresh air.

74
Here we go.
75
Anywhere quiet is fine with me.
76
Maybe a park or somewhere by the water, where we can walk and get some fresh air.

Transportation also involves giving directions.

For example, you might say, Go straight for two blocks, then turn right at the traffic light, and the bank will be on your left.
79
Go straight for two blocks, then turn right at the traffic light, and the bank will be on your left.
80
Okay, that's just some basic instructions.
81
How about this?
82
Or you could make your English more practical and better suited to real life situations and say something like this,
83
walk down the street until you reach the park and then you'll see the bus station right next to it.
84
Yeah, you'll see the bus station right next to it, right next to the park.
85
Walk down this street until you reach the park and then you'll see the bus station right next to it.
86
Again, walk down this street until you reach the park, and then you'll see the bus station right next to it.
87
More examples of giving directions.
88
Take the second exit at the roundabout.
89
Then keep going straight until you see a big supermarket on your right.

The post office is just behind it.

100
Then keep going straight until you see a big supermarket on your right.
101
The post office is just behind it.
102
If you get lost, just ask someone for the train station.
103
It's a famous place, so most people will know how to get there.
104
So you're asking, where's the train station?
105
And they explain it to you, and then they tell you.
106
But if you get lost, if you get lost, just ask someone for the train station.
107
It's a famous place, so most people will know how to get there.
